Seriously, the part about the Nursery and Hecate are fantastic in how they are written and showcase a well planned and interactive setting. One can learn a lot from these documents.
Absolutely. The documents are a treasure-trove of information, even though a lot of them are very incomplete. It's hard to believe that even with all these documents, it's still barely more than half of what they had planned for the game. Apparently Josh Sawyer still owns a big binder full of pretty much everything they had written up for the game, too. That's the sort of thing I'd love to get my hands on!
Ha, it's been a while since I made this one, but I remember asking four different people about the pronunciation and getting four different answers. Just ended up shrugging and rolling with it. :)
You forgot about the Vipers and the Scorpions Bite in the list of tribals. I came across that Diana gave the tribal that name because it was the opposite of Diana's name (Greek opposite of Roman ect) I forgot that that was the Daughter of Hecate logo but I knew what it meant. I also forgot about the Oregon Cannibal's in Fallout 2. I didn't know Ouroboros was made out of junk or that Hecate wanted to rule the entire wasteland by killing everyone that's not her (sound familiar? (Purity, Enclave)). I also didn't know that this alternate Twisted Hair was just as expansionist as the Daughter of Hecate are. I forgot Hecate was also known as Dark Mother. I didn't know that this Twisted Hair tribe was from Kansas. I didn't know what Hecate cult beliefs were built upon and I forgot that the Vipers were renamed the Hounds of Hecate. I didn't know about the mutant snakes. I knew that the society of Hecate had men trained as warriors and women sent as envoys to the other tribes, but I didn't know that Hecate trained the daughters with those skills. I also didn't know what the Daughters of Hecate dressed like. I knew Vipers were cut from Fallout 1 but not the Jackals. I also didn't know of the evil intentions Hecate tasked the Daughters of Hecate with when they arrive at the other tribes. I knew Hecate used something to "curse" people but I forgot that it was herbal recipes to mess up reproduction. I didn't know that the Hounds of Hecate were sent to wipe out any defiant tribes though it makes sense. I didn't know Hecate would've turned her sights on Diana and Caesar's Legion. I didn't know they would hate the player if they traveled with a tribal or that Hecate would sent you to assassinate high ranking people in the Legion. I never heard of the NPC's in the matchmaker quest or the quest itself. I didn't know about the NCR Ranger there or his quest (though makes sense seeing how the NCR Rangers fought against slavery in Fallout 2), same with the Follower of the Apocalypse and what he did to be imprisoned by Hecate and the quest to free him. I didn't know you could expose Hecate as a fraud either and the battle royale it would create and that Hecate could flee with the secret tunnel. I didn't know the Daughters of Hecate was the easiest way to spread the cure for the New Plague. I knew the Twisted Hairs braided their hair but I didn't know it was to record there history. I forgot that the Twisted Hair was an ally of Caesar's Legion that was betrayed. I also knew that Ulysses was a Twisted Hair but I didn't know he was a cut companion in New Vegas Sorry this is my longest comment
The Scorpion's Bite wasn't a tribal group, it was a group of post-apocalyptic raiders. They looked down on tribals, and tried to take advantage of them. The Vipers technically no longer existed by the time Van Buren was set to take place. Most of them were wiped out by the Brotherhood of Steel, and the survivors were absorbed into Hecate's tribe where they became the "Hounds of Hecate".
Ha ha, well, it's definitely a very niche subject - most modern Fallout fans have never even heard of Van Buren! This is really more of a passion project on my part. I've always loved talking about some of the more obscure parts of the Fallout universe, so it was an ideal way to help me figure out basic recording and editing techniques!

@@RetconRaider Oh I see thanks
Is anyone else getting Plato’s Republic vibes?
pretty good video. You got a new sub.
Thanks, doomblackdragon!
I kind of wish they did Hecate in New Vegas instead of Caesar's Legion...
Lame
Maybe both of them, then it would seem like NCR really is in a depressing situation.
@@demonspawn5164
Not really, since in NV NCR barely has a presence in Mojave, so they wouldn't even see Hecate's troops. But the Legion might
