Because both Alcorn and JSU were closed alot of the week....JSU had to cut their show due to allowed time from MSU....so we will see this week once the schools really can put a 7-10 min show on the field
I don't care what you say. I still like Liddell's Tiger Run-on. I still think all the lines going forward and then half the lines zipping backwards looks more flashy than going backwards from the beginning. And from no on they need to make the Tiger Mascot watch old Wavey Dave videos to see how he used to do it when he could really get down.
It has nothing to do with size unless you're talking about the number of freshmen that quit. Yes, a band is better when people who are weak or not contributing go by the way side, but what was not Liddell's problem, and it's not the reason the band is smaller now. Liddell's problem wasn't he wasn't the same director in the 2K's he was in the 90's. His staff wasn't the same. He stopped doing and requiring the things that made the BOOM great under Taylor and his own early years
taylor always had a small band i noticed a smaller su an jsu even gsu is better i think jsu is fine where it is. And after listening to JSU as a big band liddell was the issues even murry JSU sound as a whole is better an finally drilling! even Alcorn is looking nice af this yr this season in the swac will be good to watch!!
with that being said alot has to do with displine too alot was going on that should of not been going on my little brother march for jsu so its alot i know but dnt bring on here due to in house need to stay that way. but taylor is getting alot of things done over there that needed to be done and if it takes for him to get the bad seeds out to reclaim the boom legacy then so be it but if he does get a 250 plus omg swac!
A good director is a good director. If you can do great things with 64, you should be able to do great things with 128, 160,192, or 256. It might be a little bit harder or more work, but that's what you get paid for. Arrangements, drill design, work ethic, fitness, standards, and goals/expectations of excellence is where the difference is made. You think SU would stop being SU because they suddenly got 64 more incoming freshmen than usual? I don't think so
I think this was a early season game. Also they kind of water down the show if they are playing a out of conference school and try to play songs that demographic would know. They wouldn't play some of these songs against a band like Southern.
what im saying is this true what you said but imo a smaller boom is and always been a better boom to me sound an field wise. and yes he get apid for but money is a big ussues to on why alot of bands are smaller. SU an JSU are about the same size this season! 2006 when su got big they whole sound changed not for the good. and their drills are like reruns bak to back but with taylor 1st yr back he is doin gwhat he know and look at the field format an sound compared to liddell! apples an onons
Check out the double time march at 5:11 near the 40 yard line! That sh*t is tight! Never seen before!
And I've seen some clips from back in the day of SU with almost 200 on the field, and those boys were too on point.
Yes they kill it jsu & msu luv each I like this
I could only imagine the BOOM with MSU's size
their new director always put 126 on the field and as u see it works
I CONCUR JSU ALUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! I LOVE THEEE
msu band is huge and welcome back boom

I'll be at the Memphis game but hopefully I can find a better clip of this one before then.
There were 21 other band members standing on the sidelines. I guess they probably wernt ready to march this first game.

They must not have had a lot of time because this was a really short show. Good job though.
