You mentioned dying cheese cloth. The material and cheese cloth has to be wet. I soaked it in soda ash water but I really think a bit of vinegar in the water would work. I iced dyed material and I threw some cheap cheese cloth in the material. I used a plastic tub with window screen over it. Needs to be attached real good though. place material on top, then cover with ice or snow. Then sprinkle Rit dye or procian powdered dye on top. Use only a few colors as it can turn to mud. Then wait for the ice to melt. Rinse the material til no more color comes out. I just hung it to dry. I'm enjoying watching you create.

What type of feather did you use ? Where can you get feathers without assaulting an innocent bird ? 😊
I have gathered some on the beach but most are from Amazon - bags of craft feathers. No birds affected.
