Not all knows it its like she said eastern European thing its very healthy , pines . Me exanple when l was kid eated in Spring for imune system , u can make tea too 😊
Good morning Jen, I never had pine cone jam. What a great idea and seems so easy to make. Now l have to try it with cheese . Thanks for sharing this recipe 👍
starting water does not matter. boil until it down until its 85% sugar and 15% water. With a cooking thermometer thats between 235-245F. its called the soft-ball stage of candy making. she may have even gone to the hardball stage 250f - 266F
Ooh, that would be a nice glaze for fish or meats too! Be enhancing to garlic honey also (or spruce tips)! Ever made black garlic? Maillard effect! Was thinking to attempt with passive solar heater in insulated, temperature controlled box in ventilated area (had a dehydrater plug melt once, yikes!) May just try our hot attic!! By an open window!
Im so surprise that people didn't know about pine cone jam ( its not like I had ever tasted one before bcuz it isnt available in my country ) but i found out abt it when i watched Masha and the bear
Thank you for your video. Hmmm, I never knew, I'm more interested in collecting the sap, (you need to scar the tree(s)) and distilling turpentine out of the sap The left over stuff is rosin for the violin bow. True story. I have literally worn holes in my aluminum pie pans. I guess I don't need to take the metal curly pads to them to get the hard stuff off eh? I love the Milk crates. Back when I first started hoarding, ... Oops! I mean "prepping" of course, I'd collect the empty crates where ever I found them and I have 25 of the things full. I'd go to the Milk factory and get their slightly damaged ones for free and then one of the lesser employee's decided I was a sucker and wanted to charge me $5 a crate and pocket his new found money source. That didn't work, I'd just take them then and he couldn't report me because he would be cutting his own throat. Funny how it works. One of the ice cream shops would just throw their crates in a pile out back of the shop not even stacked, ... lol I got my undamaged ones from that pile just a couple at a time. They never missed them. Oops! I'm telling on myself. I really like the candy thermometers for doing stuff like that, I just wish I would stop breaking the things. I have also distilled Birch bark for the birch oil I make. It's a powerful skin medicine and a great mosquito repellent. You have to cut the thick black Birch Oil with a lighter oil for mosquito's, I use baby oil, and just a little dab will do for mosquitos. Warning! You will smell like a thousand year old campfire and turn heads in every room you enter. I don't find it offensive at all BUT! some sensitive noses do. It must suck to be them, .... Thanks for the demo, ... and keep up the great work.
Milk crates are great! I had a few to hold my stuff when I was a bit younger. Birch oil sounds very interesting. I may have to try my hand at making some. Great idea!
@@TheWildYamThere was a video of someone showing a glass of pinecone jam asking "Have you ever tried pinecone jam?" and some dude then responding with a bunch of hammers in sauce asking "Have you ever tried barbecue hammers?"

I remember that lol. I was horrified
Where can I get young pinecones?
😁👋🏼☺️💞 Jen! Interesting now that live in the mountains! My yard is full of ponderosa pines! I didn’t get what the medicinal part helps! 🤔
Wonderful! I love pines. I haven't seen any ponderosa pines around here. Pines have purported antibacterial, antifungal properties.
İ picked pinecones from my school, little ones to b exact, they are fully green but the sharp thingys are brown and lil sharp, are they safe??
That looks crazy good💥
It's surprisingly delicious
I have a pine cone tree and a bag FULL of pine cones I was going to throw away. I am going to make this!!
We tried this and it first came out clear and then got grainy and hard... 😔. It is more of a pine sugar. What did we do wrong?
Thanks Jen😊
You're welcome!
can you send me a link for the recipe
How long did you cook it?
How many cups of shuger
what tree is behind you (the pink one)
It is a crabapple in bloom. Such a beautiful tree.
Looks great! That must be a special spoon that doesn't melt LOL
How many cups of water exactly?

So it's okay to eat the pine cones themselves? Looks good!
Yes , they are the best part.
What type of pine tree is in the video? Is any type of pine tree ok?
You have to researxh yourself cus only some species are edible.
be good on bannock - thanks
Delicious!
Have you ever heard of barbecue hammers?
Is it better than barbecue hammers though?
Those are delicious too. Lol
BBQ hammers and Sauce Coins are better
Though that Masha and the bear food just a fantasy
Thank you for your video.

Yeah! Good stuff. Thanks LB
If pine is already a strong taste, why add cinnamon?!?
It complements it and adds further medicinal benefit
Only certain species are edible

Ha ha! What is it? Now I'm curious!
