- After a good run in the field, Matt, Andy, Kelly, and Carter are back in the shop trying to get the planter put back together. The correct disc openers showed up and Matt explains the comparison of the different disc openers he's trying from Wear Parts LLC to test the longevity.

Another youtuber has been impressed with the longer life and more consistent blade contact of the wear parts blades vs. factory deere. hope you see the same results
Like the straight pipe! My brother hit a limb with the muffler on our 4250 and broke the top off, so we may have to put a straight pipe on now. Glad to see the planter about done! Won’t be long til it’s time to put some seed in the ground!
No jokes: I remember 40 years ago, driving a 1370 straight pipe and turned up at night, she would throw a flame up and back over the roll cage. She would grunt but roll through anything you put her into. Oh! And that whistle!
Love the straight pipe!! Carter has grown a lot since the last time we saw him.
The Blue Planters are so much easier to work on. If you keep an eye on your center post they will be a great planter.
Yes they don’t get any easier to work on than a Kinze
Really enjoy your videos. Learn something new every time
The Joyce Bro's are gonna be proud of the 4440!
Great video, glad to see Carter is doing better.
you should look at CaseIH blades as well
Take into account the ones behind the tires or tracks will have more wear….
I will not put anything but a wear part blade on any planter I work on. I changed a customer planter opener a few years ago, and they have only worn down a 1/16th of an inch. She plants roughly 800 acres a year and has been on there for at least 3-4 years.
Good to hear!
16:34 - America!!
Carter sounds so enthusiastic! 😂
Don’t he though!
Thanks for the video, good to see you hanging in there getting ready for another crop year. Afraid you farmers are going to have tough row to hoe this year. Sure hope not!
Were those composite toe socks that Carter was sporting?
My daddy usta call that vinyl stuff pleather. 😂😂😂🤔🤫
Same here. 😂
@@griggsfarmsllc great video Matt
I think across the board the quality of parts is lacking. I know that Chinese steel is not the quality of steel made elsewhere. That said, the days of the Maytag washer are gone. Everything is made with a specific life expectancy in the design.
Hey Matt great video, have you ever considered a Case IH planter with the staggered disc openers? We love those things they work great but everything wears out leading disc wears out faster, pretty much a good no till planter, which we don’t do at all! Just curious if you’ve ever considered one of those 👍
No. Kinze is the only manufacturer to make a planter on 38/19” rows
@@griggsfarmsllc Yeah Matt kind of forgot about that!!
Do you have delta force on the pusher units.
Yes. Put them on our second year
not putting your choices of blades just telling you what i seen do not recall who it was but they rather have the cast bearing housings on the wear parts blades from deere i think is who they got them from
Probably crop critic
Why wouldn't you go 4-4-4 on your test to get honest results? 6-1-5 on your openers isn't a real test
Why would I spend $300 on additional Kinze blades when these were given to me to test. All rear units will cover the same amount of ground so one OEM row is a good enough control for this test for wear comparison purposes.
Matt, young farmers should not be wearing flip-flops in a working enviroment !
Please don’t let Carter work around machinery with sandals on don’t want him to hurt himself
When you have Skoal or other crap in your mouth I don't watch!
I'm sure he'll lose sleep over you.
Well…bye
I don't watch when you have that "Slop" in your mouth!!
Quit watching it then, it’s none of your business anyway, this is still America
