The saw gets some paint and is put to the test!

I agree with mbts the top part should be bright yellow to be seen when cutting in the trees
Just paint the blade fluorescent yellow.
The best most frightening thing to come from someone’s garage that is actually useful. 😊
No guard needed, but maybe a transportation boot to protect the blade when moving it 👍
Congratulations Mike and Aaron! Awesome saw that you've built and it works great! Keep on designing and fabricating your ingenious inventions.
I have to say Mike that is a thing of beauty and you are quite the painter I must admit it I'm impressed very impressed on all of it and man behind the scenes there he is a hell of a welder You guys make a great team
I completely enjoyed that build series. It's gonna be fun watching you two putting the limb reeper to work also😊
Trim Perfect, of course!
Add an upside down "V" just under the end of the boom where the gearbox is mounted that sticks to maybe 4" to 6" below the blade. It will capture the limb and keep it from trying to shoot away from the blade when cutting it. It also helps to "guide" the limb towards the center of the blade if you're positioning is a little off. Maybe 1" or 1.5" square steel tube should do it.
It's surprising just how precise and accurate your test run turned out. It sure went threw that hickory in a hurry. Not sure what you are going to name this new attachment the "Simon Saw" Good video Mike love the home made stuff.
Nice! How about calling it the "Butter Knife". Cuts like Butter!
Speaking of secrets, how'd you get the hydraulic motor bearing retainer flange on the output shaft after the second time welding the blade flange on the shaft? Maybe I was paying too much attention, but just wondering if there was any cutting and re-welding involved. lol Cool project though!
Like your skill Mike and Aaron and it work too and whote next ok saw horses . next .
Fine job fellows. I would suggest that you be careful around or near any power lines. The regular boom saw for tree crews are designed with an isolated fiberglass break built in the upper boom to protect crew members on the ground that may be in contact with the equipment.
Nice job guys! Love using what you have laying around to build something so useful.
Could you put a Bluetooth camera on the end of the saw boom and a monitor in the cab to have better vision. Always enjoy the videos
Just wanted to say I re watched the interview podcast with farmer Criss and his relative that didn’t want to answer questions.. He was surprised at how much you knew. You are smart and knowledgeable. 👍
One more ting you might consider, building a motor driven rotation and lock for the Tentacle arm.
Good job fellas
Patton on detail plow, and the limbs saw both
Awesome. Great job guys!
I think you could use a plastic 55 gallon drum for a safety cover when not in use. Needs stickers on it for "stay back 1500ft".
Good Idea this Saw. The Building very good! The Test very Promising. 👌👍 Greeting from Austria
Mike, You need to go out to the hardware stores more often, that size washer hasn't been five cents for the last few years (Thank you, Brandon!). Where oh where is the DP sticker?!? Maybe you need to get a line of 'Almost DP' stickers, as well, for the welded projects, so you guys can provide signature for Aaron's skill and contributions and we can rightly appreciate. Thank you both!!!😁
He is showing his age. Five what?
Man you guys are awesome. Mad Max is spectacular. I live in Nova Scotia Canada and I wish I could meet you guys.
That thing is so cool, great job guys
My name for is Buzz Lightyear. Great project.
Perfect trim
Interesting tool ... looks good ... like that you finished it ... while Bubba Dump is at the workshop how about fixing the rust on the roof before it starts to leak... please 😀
The Franklin saw put together like franking steen
The limb Jim. I would love to have some of that wood for the smoker LOL 😂
"Buzz Top" because you can buzz the tops off the trees like butter.
Black, green and paint the blade area RED! Bright red so people stay away from the red zone for safety.
Also, those mud dobbers and wasps and hornets are gonna love that Santa drum because you didn't cap the end off. So they're gonna get up in there and create hives.
That was a good one.
I think you should name it Curt Perfect, in honor of one of the Dirt Brothers, Curt and Phil. Plus, you're gonna use it to curt down trees and branches.
Looks good gentlemen
Please don't let that strap break and drop something heavy on your foot. You can see in the video that it is compromised at 16:29
Quite the vision you have there. Good work.
To all you keyboard warriors patting yourselves on the back for telling Mike to turn the blade direction, remember this was all videoed a few months ago and your comment earlier this week had no bearing on Past-Life-Mike changing the blade around.
This Lovely work of art needs some more extra control. Unlock the brake by remote and Turne the saw by remote. Machines are built, but perfect development of machines takes a bit longer. I like your work.
Is there a way to control the rotation of the lower part of the attachment from the cab?
Should have let Arron paint it like a Barber pole and called it “The Barber” 👍
Did you consider making a very long oversized "tree lopper" that would be controlled by the hydraulic thump setup?
On
The paint looks everybit as good as the welds.....
Great job DP and MBTS. This was an awesome build and series of build videos. You need to patten ths saw and tile plow. I mean if letsdig can patten his channel name surey these builds are way more worthy than that. Keep the videos coming guys.
`Hulk` is my choice for it . . . . . . . .Because of the sheer length of it when attached, maybe on the Volvo or Hyundai, could you alter the movement speed of the hydraulic arm on the cabs control unit in the cab, to give you more precision movement as you get closer to cutting? It`s a D.P. off the cuff build alright, who needs drawings? lololol Well Done Mike and Aaron.
Don’t forget to put gear oil in the gear box!!!
A bit medieval but gets the job done. Nice work. Could also be used as crowd control at a distance... Just Kidding!
How about Buzzy the Buz saw. Dave D.
Kinda disappointed you didn't go with the barber pole look....🤣
i would say still work to be done.. its kinda in the Model T Era
“Brontosaurus 🦕 “ the long necked vegetarian dinosaur.
The green hornet it flies through the air and has a vicious stinger
The Hulk pole saw.
"THE PERFECT SAW"
Just call it “stick” and it also needs a dirt perfect sticker
Or the Best one yet is Jerry's custom toys for machines
name it "STRETCH" because you are stretching to reach the taller areas
Nah, I already read that the saw would be spinning backwards.
"Simonator" or "Tree-Bully"
The stick should of been Pepsi blue that would of looked better with the excavator's now you have to create an attachment to mount on the dozer 😂
"Edward" - as in "Edward Scissor Hand"
That green looks like the generic John Deere Green out around the blade should have been yellow that way you can see it in the trees😅
Sky saw😅
Delimber Perfect
3 letter agency nightmare.
Go go gadget arm
The “Limb Reaper””
Brilliant.😂
Two things guys
1) Don't forget the cotter pin, or as I was told doing my apprenticeship, the split pin.
2) Mike, be careful with Temu if you used your credit/debit card, a friend of mine got something from Temu, but the credit card details got used by someone else. I personally use a pre paid credit card, issued by MasterCard when I go on Ebay, that way I have a limit, $100. When it's empty you cannot top it up. Brilliant build by the way.
"Derby Bladesaw Massacre"
Have a contest to name the attachment 😎
I will offer the name "Buzz"
If that contraption had a rubber mounted camera close to the blade and a screen mounted high in the cab so when you are looking up you could have 1 eye on the screen and 1 eye on wot you can actually see it could be used with alot of precision, just a thought . Nice work great video
DP, hey that's not John Deere, its a Oh Deere!!!
Nice!! I see what you did there!
Jolly Green ??
Hey guys THANKS for reversing the rotation! I can sleep better now 😅.
Me too.
Yup!!
Yes, I thought the same thing when Mike was tightening the lock nut the same way as the blade rotation, - but then put it down to maybe the idiosyncrasies of video filming giving viewers a false (reverse) look.... - phew!
@@andymack5093 - Well, we were right. Mike caught his mistake and corrected it in the next video. Seeing as these videos are several years old (OK, maybe weeks) before Mr. Perfect posts them, I guess we'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he did find his own mistake. Regardless, I still think the candy stripe paint job Aaron wants is the correct way to go. That black/green doesn't do it justice. Besides, having MBTS drive it up to C&C Equipment and have Kevin work his magic would have resulted in some fantastic videos with the second string as the stars.
got my coffee, I been sitting here waiting for this... I would give this a 10 out of 10, this build was bad ass!
12 out of 10 it was very entertaining.
Thanks
You could have painted a spiral on the blade, and hypnotised the trees.
A FEW CUTS FROM PERFECT
I’d call it LARS. Long A** Reach Saw. Awesome build! Great ingenuity! Kudos to you both!
Wow! Awesome job! Well thought out and great fab work. Congratulations.
The scary factor has not diminished! The way it yeeted that one branch toward you, you may want to ensure the front window is closed. That is one big cutting machine! What a wonderful job of creation. You both need to pat yourselves on the back for this.
If have looked at equipment doing forestry work and or demolition work they have protective bars and or screens over all the windows
I bet they all have fire extinguishers too
@@dongrimm2572 Comment generator if you have no fire extinguisher showing in the holder.
.
Enjoyed this build keep up the awesome videos
Masterpiece of engineering DP/Aaron well done loved all the videos on this build
Thanks
Very impressive. Well worth the watch. All you need now is the DP sticker.
It reminds me of the old style Buzz Saws.
Call it Buzz Buddy
Bubba Buzz
Good morning DP and MBtS. I like the color and I think you should call it Forest because it cuts trees and rounds out the trio with Lt. Dan and Bubba Dump.
And.. need to make Aaron's roller Jenny! 😂
good morning from good ole Missouri, and i absolutely love the videos keep up the amazing work.
Good job on the paint job, and on protecting your lungs by wearing a respirator, but make sure to use a combination filter cartridge that includes an organic vapor cartridge in addition to the pink pancake P100 particulate filter you did wear. That will protect your lungs from the solvents in the paint too.
31.44 nearly lost my life 🤣😂 "Forrest Stumper "
That's the best part of working together,,,, You have a witness for those one of kind stories. (the bird )
This video is really a cut above!! The, Limbinator is a great name!!
lol thanks
Being able to set different angles on that is just awesome! You could even take a tree down from the top if you needed to!
Great build and a lot of fun watching you guys work. Can't wait to see Chris's reaction..
This has been an awesome build. Love it
Good morning DP and MSTS, Love the channel!!!
Pretty dang cool guys. Love it when a plan in the head comes to reality
I’m convinced there is nothing you and MBTS cannot build. Together you guys are a well oiled team and the way you two jab at each other is comical, it makes good content. Love the channel
Good morning, dirt, perfect, March 28th. Time 7:01 AM.
The next thing to do is make two heavy gage metal saw horses!!!
Mike uses those rickety saw horses as a "Comment generator" and it works. I just hope no one gets hurt when they finally break!
😁
This is what I've been waiting on, good morning DP and Aaron
i onder if you can leave the excavator on the lowboy 1 guy driving the other trimming the roadside for the municipality - might get to make some good money in order to pay clint to finally fix and finish Lt Dan
LT. Dan with luck will be sold to help get younger people in to the trades. $100k to the skill USA would do great thing.
Did yall see Clint’s latest video, a helicopter dropped off a trimmer for cutting right-a-ways! Like pipelines and high lines! That trimmer had about 6-10 saw blades on it! It was cool Mike, take a look at Clint’s channel! You talk about small drive shaft tube and flimsy looking! Check it out, I’m going to look up some videos on those cutters!
Those cutters are used extensively here in WA State. They do a good enough job for what they are used for, but the cuts aren't pretty or neat. There is a lot of movement because it is hanging from a helicopter. But when your trying to clear limbs from high voltage power transmission lines in the middle of the Cascade mountains, you probably don't care about neat.
@@mikel9567 wow, true!👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That wasn't a drive shaft it was the support tube and to keep it stable. IT had a gas engine on the inside to power the saw blades.
Finally. Cant wait to see it in action.
lol, 😂 Mike should be ashamed to put a rusty washer! 🤣😂🤣😂 I knew you wouldn’t hear the end of that Mike!🤣😂🤣
Thanks for swapping out that Rusty washer.......I would have had to Drive to Derby myself to fix that..😂😂
