Me too
I love these kinds of drinks, will have to give this one a try.
I really enjoy your Videos. Smiling during the shake is key to success. Keep it on mate.
Glad you enjoy them! 😊
Just made it and wow! So delicious
This has to be my favorite bartender type of UA-cam channel, and u used my favorite type of gin, love London dry gin even as a gin and tonic
Thanks so much Ticci!
Excellent. I think the Tom Collins is my favorite summer cocktail, I can see trying this very soon.
It’s just a minty take on it - works quite well 😌
Turned out great my mom loves it
great vid again.. funny now you can't NOT do the mid shake smile!.. lol (which has it's own fan club now too!).. and I'm sure you've inspired home bartenders to do a mid shake smile, (which my wife gets a kick out of every time!.. it's a must now haha.. keep up the great work!!!
Haha, I’ve formed a habit of it now! 😁
Great video Steve Bro
Good stuff!
Love this
I like how you smile every time you start shaking
How often do you squeeze your fresh lemon juice into the glass bottle? And when will orgeat recipe (with almonds instead of almond milk) video come? Thx
Fresh juice each day I film.. lemon/lime juice is at its best 4-10 hours after squeezing..
I've been searching high and low for those swing-top bottles in that size. Where do you get yours? Love the channel!
A place in called Gala Imports (Adelaide, AUS)..
Interresting. I have a Gin at home which has a strong flavour of mint and pear, and I always wondered how it would taste in a Gin Fizz or a Tom Collins. I think I'll try that one soon
Yum, sounds like it would - what gin is it?
@@StevetheBartender_ it's called Cobalto 17 and is distilled in Portugal. I made aFizz yesterday with it and it tastes really good. The flavours are balanced and is has a refreshing tase
One of my favourites, personally I prefer the Southside Rickey recipe from diffordsguide which uses lime juice instead of lemon. Delicious either way!
Have you tried them side by side?
@@StevetheBartender_ Not side by side but over the course of a few days..
Can you just muddle mint sprigs in simple syrup if mint syrup isn't handy ? Or do you think that'll alter the taste significantly?
Yep, most definitely! You don't even need to muddle it... the act of shaking it will break the mint into smaller pieces and impart plenty of flavour! =)

Have plenty of that in my yard. Give me 24 hrs and I'll report back hehe. It's beginning to get real warm here in so cali. This is perfect for the weather
Just made it as promised. Had to go to store for lemons as I usually stock limes. It *IS* delicious. It does remind me of mojito. Funny I happen to have Tanquerey in my bar at home
Ah... The Drink of Al Capone.
That is true!
Did you put any sugar in the lemon juice? Or is it like just a freshly squeezed lemon
It was just freshly squeezed lemon juice.. the bottle after that was the simple syrup 😋
Where did you buy those metal straws i mean im going to google it but i will probably not find anything close
DM me on Insta and I’ll send you some 👌
I just love 3 ingridients cocktails
Lol, but this is 4... 5 if you include the mint 😳
Steve the Bartender may be I shouldn’t assume that everyone has mint plant in the yard and soda water in their fridge. Hence the 3 Ingredients one has to get 😜
Have you checked out morgenthalers method of making mint syrup? The trick is to blanch the mint in boiling water for second to stop de oxidation later. Southside FIZZ!!
Yeah riight!! I’ll have to have a read and test out how well it works - have you tried it yourself?
I prefer to use fresh mint, don't have any room in my fridge for so many syrups anyways (with al those bottles of vermouth and what not taking up space). I made it once, but for a party so I opted to use iced simple syrup, the cold holds off the oxidation as well.
Drink was done at 0:34
Just a double of gin straight up? 😆
@@StevetheBartender_ Perfect 👌
i should have known: with the bar book by jeffrey morgenthaler on that shelf these videos just had to be good.
Cheers Lasagne!
@@StevetheBartender_ Cheers Steve! 🍹
Doesn’t the name fizz mean it contents egg white?
The egg is optional.. if you use an egg white, it can also be called a Silver Fizz.. egg yolk = Golden Fizz, whole egg = Royal Fizz
"SOUTHSIDE FIZZ - or is it a Mint Collins or a Gin Mojito???" or GIn Julep????
..but it’s got soda/seltzer.. 🤔
nope not a mojito!
Definitely not as good as the mojito
