- These are some hole shots and some running shots of My Yellowfin Carbon Elite 24 bay boat that is powered by a Mercury Racing v-8 Supercharged 450r.
My set up is a 20" leg with a sport master gear case at 1.60 Gear Ratio all bone stock from Mercury Racing. The prop in this set up is a Mercury Racing Max 5 23.5" pitch. This package is the "Total Package" Set up for a bay boat.
Top Speed with this set up is just over 81 mph.
My Yellowfin 24 Carbon Elite is what I call the "flat deck" model. Has no tower or superstructure. She was loaded with half tank of fuel and full bait well. I have a Bobs machine jack plate mounted on this boat with a full 10" set back.

This is my daily driver for work here as a fishing guide in Key West, Florida. I use this Yellowfin powered by the Mercury Racing 450r to take my clients fishing for tarpon, permit and bonefish daily. The light weight of this package gets me in super shallow water.

what’s cruising and mpg when your running 30 mph when it’s sporty it must be pretty fuel efficient since it doesn’t need so much fuel running close to idle for 30

I thought so as well, in fact it’s on yellowfin’s website. Maybe it’s rated for the 450 now. If this guy is chartering people and has any kind of incident and is found to have a over powered boat….oh boy, his insurance would drop him like a rock and he would have to pay any and all damages out of pocket. But yellowfin is a custom manufacturer so it wouldn’t surprise me if they would make it and have it rated per customer request. And I don’t think this guy so stupid to put his neck on the line like that. But DUDE that setup is absolutely smoking !!!!
