I’ve suffered with depression for 30 years, my number 1 piece of advice is to make yourself busy and distracted. Riding your bike, making something, reading an interesting book, anything but laying in bed with the ability to think . And for gods sake talk to someone!

The best remedy for Depression besides my preferred choice ( Riding a 🏍of course ) Get away from Everything that is normal ?? Things you normally do. Don't do them for at least 1 day a week ( for longer IF possible ?? ) Do something you haven't done in a long time or possible visit people you have always promised to visit. A fresh face can sometimes be a great relief. For me personally, after my preferred choice. Go for a walk along the Beach, a great place to think about Nothing.
this touched my heart and made me cry. i have been riding for 10 years, i totalled 1 motorcycle and sold the next one. i bought a decent car but for 2+ years that i'm not riding, every day i feel a have blank inside me, that i didn't do something. i want to start riding again, anything on 2 wheels with 20+hp and 250+cc. the feeling you have is from outer space: "you are free in a blink of an eye, all problems are disappearing the time you ride". i will fight and start riding again! for all motorcyclists out there: ride safe and enjoy every minute riding!!! 🙂🏍🥇🏆🏁
My depression\anxiety\anger starts to go away as I am gearing up for the ride. As I make the walk to the garage, all my focus goes to the ride I am about to take. Once I'm on the bike and out the drive way, I am 100% committed to the ride and other thoughts just do not have the same impact. For the next few minutes or hours, my mind is captured, on my self and my ride. I have taken a mental break and am better now. Even with all the noise that goes on when you ride, I can hear myself breathe! Only us bikers will understand.
I’d be depressed if I had to listen to this background soundtrack for more than 5 minutes a day. I guess good on that account! Anyhow I road a bike for decades, since I was 13 and never used it to distract myself. It was always to connect more deeply with everything I was processing. One time when I was 17 I drove to a tree in the middle of a field and fell asleep underneath it. When I woke up, I knew exactly how I would face myself becoming an adult at 18 - no distractions, no pretend, no bending to emotions while never ignoring them either. It worked. I’m now nearly 70 years old and have no regrets. Find your way through whatever it is and never play this type of background music in your actual life! …or the soundtrack piece at the end either.
A really GREAT short video that I saved in my Motorcycles folder. Completely in tune with how I feel. Sometimes I feel like the buddy who called to invite his friend for a ride. Sometimes I am the motorcyclist who, for some reason, life throws a curveball at, and is feeling down about something. Awesome job filming this sentiment. Live long, ride long my brothers.
Appreciate it all us non-cagers, ride smart I got lucky layed my car down going 35into on coming traffic god guided me through that hell of a night. Hope everyone is doing good today and if your not just remember it’s one down the rest up.
Those of us who struggle with depression and anxiety, though we know those two wheels are our life line, it is even hard sometimes to find the energy and ambition to get ready and get on our motorcycle and ride.
I'm glad you didn't walk out to a new and highly polished bike, would have spoilt it. I have recurrent depression & EUPD, I'd love to go out on my bike but often it's so dull and miserable out there, damn weather!
Saved me from depression in 2008 I finally decided to get on my bike and enjoy it after several months of lying in bed going on a downward spiral. Your motorcycle will always pick you up when you’re down. Riding definitely distracted me and gave me confidence to move forward. I never looked back 💙🙏🏻
Just remember it’s one down the rest up, my fellow riders keep your head up plz. Trust even if we don’t know each other I’d rather hear your voice than hear your family and friends lost you. Nothing wrong with venting brothers and sisters. Fr I struggle everyday myself. It’s one punch at a time one round at a time. Just keep going for yourself if not anything else.
This is very true. I have suffered from depression my entire life, but the last decade or so have been particularly brutal. A few years ago I got 6speed 50cc 2stroke roadlegal dirtbike and it was a gamechanger (despite the tiny engine). Suddenly I WANTED to get out of bed in the morning, I WANTED to ride out and see places and even meet people, and every ride was like pure therapy! I never have been able to meditate or find a true calmness untill I got on a bike, it really is incredible just how much it does for the psyche! Even confidence-wise it is a major boost, wich is so silly because 99% of people dont care at all about bikes, but the confidenceboost is there and it is tangible even IF it is silly. Unfortunatly the dirtbike was in need of so many repairs I had to get a regular scooter instead 😕 But without gears and being alot slower it just doesn't work the same, it does nothing for mental well-being. Especially since the slow speed means getting bullied by cars in traffic so I just use it for errains. What I really want to do is get a real motorcycle and do motorcamping but unfortunatly bikes are very expensive in my country and the motorcycle licens alone is around 2000€ wich even if I scraped that kind of money together somehow I would still not have a bike so fml. But miracles do happen so maybe some day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It only takes one step. It may seem huge, impossible even, but you can do it. Actually you can do anything, if you want it, only you can make things happen, the truth is there are no shortcuts. I wish you well!
For some people having a bike MAKES it easy to get out of bed. For others it might be a dog, a garden or maybe some kind of physical excersice or martial arts. It is different for everyone and it is very hard to figure out what truly motivates you, when all you want to do is stay in bed. I know. But something can and it is a task worth pursuing since it can literally save your life.
Cool movie . Great subject. My two cents… own multiple motos. They keep you busy, and one should always be ready to ride and you’ll add variety to you life. Cheers.
Well thought out video 👍, it doesn't matter what bike you have (50 cc----- 1100cc) as long as you get out on the road . If you suffer from depression TALK TO SOMEONE ,IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO !!!! , dont end up being another dead person in the obituaries page of the newspapers, the only people to suffer are the one's you leave behind . Peace out ✌
And in the naked light, I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never shared And no one dared Disturb the sound of silence
Thats awesome, just go for it, I spent way too long thinking about doing things and everybody has to start somewhere. Don't be too hard on yourself, just experiment, have fun and learn as you go!
If you don't feel the mental health benefits from riding on two wheels? Then you have no real reason to explain why you ride to others who tell you ''You might be killed.''
It did fall a little Flat in any meaning of connecting Motorcycles with Depression ?? I was hoping for a more of an uplifting feeling after watching ?? But, the opposite happened and I suddenly started feeling more Depressed as I watched ??? Maybe I need to go for a Ride on my 🏍
am not tring to b a dick!!!but d movie needs bit more tweeking!!!some rapid quick cuts(where u dressup) to create a contrast bitween short & prolong scenes!!!may be a filter 2 to give a bit of a depth!!love d living room btw!!!very kitch!!!

@@savage22bolt32 it sure beats watching tv though, now that is depressing!

The worse thought when you are laying in bed for hours and consider standing up is, "what the fuck for should I stand up, everything is pointless"
