Driving the Last Real Jaguar - This 2008 XJ LWB Was The Last Classically Styled Jaguar Saloon
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 бер 2020
- SOLD For many years, Jaguars were absolutely unmistakable - low, long, sleek, loaded with chrome and leather, and exuding class and taste in a refined manner. The last Jaguar sedan to adhere to this philosophy was the X358, made from 2005 to 2009. Though very advanced in construction and materials, this Jaguar looked as classic as traditional as any other made in the last 5 decades, and was a very true successor to the first Jag saloons.
Full review and test drive by Bill. This car is SOLD - Авто та транспорт
this guy needs to have his own talk show. i love his humor. he makes me laugh. i love the way he describes the details of the cars
I agree! Laid back style, great but subtle sense of humour. Definitely should host a mainstream channel - so much better than the other egotists out there....
I think not...S.J.W's would have his head up on a pole after the 1st episode! Lol.
God yeah!! I’d help fund it! He’s like a Dennis Miller,, but coarser!!
@@gerardbaines320 I can’t
Agree MORE!! in the US, the late night “Talk show hosts” are political Activists!! Leno?, letterman, Carson? Conan? Did you EVER find out their political views? NO, the was it should be!! Be FUNNY
I think Jaguar should have kept on making this car the way Porsche still makes the 911 but updates it
I agree with you on that JC, they really should have they were very classy looking, well handling, nice riding cars!!!
Not enough people bought it. The shape would have had to change dramatically for pedestrian safety standards and US passenger safety standards. If they were popular, they wouldn't be so cheap now
So true
@@stevec6427 You're wrong. The "leaper" on the front would've had to go for safety reasons sooner or later for pedestrian safety, but the shape isn't any less compliant with passenger regulations than any other comparable cars. Bentley build similar shapes to this day, so do Rolls Royce, and neither of them have any problems complying with regulations. It's just that very few people have the taste and style to appreciate these (and some of those who would are put off as they imagine them being much more expensive than they actually are, and thus the thought of being able to afford one doesn't even cross their mind). People seem to prefer to buy the new models, which look just like every other car on the road.
Mos def. This car is timeless beauty.
Bill is pure gold!!!!!! I love how he goes off topic & goes off on a tangent about his staff...., my side hurts from laughter!!!!!!!! Bill should be on stage!!!!!!!
These are beautiful vehicles and the last true Jaaaaaaag.
despite it being a rebodied ford mondeo.
That may be. I've had a 3.5 straight 6 XJS Coupe for the last 16 years and I think it will see me out as it is only 31 years old in 2020.
@@deadprivacy Nope. Not at all. You got the wring jag there buddy. Not the XJ. Never.
@@danieleregoli812 my apologies , thought it was an x series.
deadprivacy jag should of went all out but nope they are cheap Ford bastards
I came here just to listen to Bill talk because he cracks me up,, LOL.. love it.
Love your rants when you get distracted.
Donald Trump is a Ghetto trick ; I can relate to that because I’m old and grumpy.
@Donald Trump is a Ghetto trick
Maybe you shouldn't listen anymore
starting to get old pretty fast, I love the witty remarks but those random uncalled for rants are fairly annoying...maybe time to retire
This guy knows his stuff. I have a 2007 Vandenplas and I love it
Bill what I love the most about your car reviews other than the cars is your imagination 👍
Bill is hilarious.
Had two (Ford) Jaguar XJ's. Loved them both. Gas and oil changes, that was it.
What year, might I ask?
'He has ten feet to travel so he hits the gas of course' - Yeah these dopes are every where, accelerating past me down hill to get to the red light. Then sleeping when it turns green. That is a nice Jag! Pronounced Jag-you-are, or in American, Jagwar
I had a 97 xj with the straight 6 and loved it but I now know my next car will be this year...2008 jags are the only way to go. Such a timeless machine
Just started watching this site, Bill's vocabulary is a pleasure to listen to he is intelligent and witty.
Several years later and it’s a miracle the detailer is still alive😂
Zach S., one day Bill is going to take him for a ride.
Exactly!! I miss this car. You always knew it was a Jag!
He had me at, “molest the chambermaids” 🤣
Man, I'm coming to Florida so you can sell me a car! I love your presentation!!
A few yrs back I was out on my bike on a lonely stretch. A guy in one of these pulled over and asked me for directions. After I gave him help, I said, "I've always admired the style of these cars - How do you like owning it?" He got this warm look on his face as he smiled and Said; "I love it." End of story.
What's your 2nd best story?
Love your reviews, the excellent knowledge and the amazing humour.
“Lighter than Karen Carpenter...” Gigglesnort!
A wonderfully grumpy video, I laughed out loud. Thanks!
Been waiting for you to review that Jag, I have seen it in the background a couple of times and have anticipated the video. I have never owned a Jag I have always been a Mercedes man myself but have always loved Jags, this video just might make me pick up one like this.
Perfect timing on the Jag vid. Just bought me a 2002 xjr 100.
Great review with plenty of entertaining commentary from Bill. 😁
I just love how knowledgeable you are about Jags sir!
Wonderful timeless lines, really impressive and everlasting. Really the last true Jaguar. Great overview as usual. Thanks for showing and Greetings from Austria. Take care 👋🇦🇹👍
My favourite Jag saloon is the 1995-1997 Jaguar X300 - inline six. I have several, including the 4.0 litre manual and the 4.0 supercharged XJ-R auto - they have a 'film star' quality that the German saloons simply lack. You get Mercedes taxis in Europe, but not Jaguar ones!
Its DNA stretches back to the original XJ6 of 1968, but it's modern and reliable to drive, and very much a classic Jaaag.
Thanks Bill, love your reviews.
All the best from (an unusually sunny) England!
Today's weather report brought to you by Bill... Oh yeah and a car review too :)
Ahahaha👏👏 I love it when you get stuck in to your detailer 😍you were sure in great form today Bill loved it great way to start off a great day , one of your best I think 👍
My great grandparents used to live in Beverly Hills, back in the 60s and 70s and 80s and they always always drove elegant Jaguars and nothing else. They were frequently in the shop and so my grandparents just stick with Lexus now. They wanted something elegant and respectable but super reliable.
My mom drove a silver Jaguar just like that one ☝️. Super comfortable, super fast, super elegant!
Mum*
How about reliability?
7:52 So THAT’S what Bill looks like...
bro, the first Jaguar built by Ford was the S-Type.
That is a great looking Jag definitely. But I have to say that I do miss the leaping Jaguar hood ornament and the gas caps on the edge of the trunk that the older XJs had.
Great review !!! Thank you so much, I love each and every video you make!! Please do a review of that Lexus LS430 that you have!!!
Just saw the photos of that one on the website. What a great looking car! I bet it still runs like a top too.
Thank you Bill for the video and the information. I bought a Jaguar XJR because of you and I'm in love with it 😊
Great review on a phenomenal classic and funny digs on his knuckle headed staff.
Love this style Jag!! Memories....
I liked this car so much I bought it
Thank, you for you're video and you're time spent.
Another Great review. Thanks!
Had mine 6 years Identical to the one you are reviewing great sexy looking car and has never let me down.
An excellent review, thank you. M.
Beautiful car and great commentary
Bill is a very intelligent man. He truly is extraordinary when he discusses vehicles. The large manufacturing companies should hire him as a top of the line representative of the company. Bill represents Vehicles extremely well. His knowledge of vehicles are well above and beyond your average person. He truly is the creme Dela creme, for the explanation of these vehicles.
Hilarious review. I agree with another poster, bill needs his own show
I had a 1970 Series 1 XJ6 and, I suppose, as Bill mentions, it's really close to the original design intent.
This is, indeed, a lovely car. :)
And, if you will, these are the best car reviews ever! Lovely, even.
I love this guys commentary
Superb review and witty insight.
Great video. A proper car
I speak the queen’s English so is bonnet and boot for me thanks
Hood is part of a coat and a trunk belongs to an elephant!
Yanks have no place telling other people what to say or do considering those fats play football with their hands.
@@VanquishMediaDE Damn right there and they can't play with their feet either.
@@centaurus5676 I really do not know if I would want to see a yank attempt to play proper football with their feet. The Earth might actually stop rotating for a moment and frankly I do not want anything to be messed up. Maybe they can stick to their national tradition of killing each-other in a weekly school shooting.
Whether you speak English or American, it has NEVER been a JagWaar. In ANY language a Jag-U-ar has 3 Syllables NOT two.
Excellent. Very amusing and a lovely car.
Honestly this was one of my favorite and last Jags that I liked. Jaguars status isn't like it used to be like when I was growing up as a kid in the late 80s and early 90s. Most people I know if will get one of the newer ones keep them a little while and trade them in for something else. This particular one I'd keep in the garage and drive it on the weekends
Fun to watch this😎 I have a 2004 Vanden Plas. I have the gut-ripping "leaper" on my hood. Classic styling and a little more chrome. I love the seats and the power under the hood😉. Navigation, 6-cd changer and a single cd up front. DVD in the headrests with controls for the stereo in the back console as well. Floats down the road, but I love to floor it just to feel "Kitty" run!!
Killer New Balance kicks to cut the lawn! Love ya Bill, you’re the best!!
I know this video is 3 years old but I love your humor and description about the car and gun references about the storage compartments. Are you still making the videos? I’m getting a low cost Jaguar car soon because I love them and the looks !👀
This was like Joey B Toonz reviewing one of my favourite cars! Excellent.
Please DONT STOP making videos- I don’t have cable and you are top entertainment. 👍🏼 also nice car to drive to your mechanics as that will be your top destination 😂😂
Absolutely stunning!
Looks very much like my British racing green 2004 XJ8 with 56k miles it. It has a lot of burled walnut wood trim with an interior exactly like this one, except with built in gps and no heated seats...My husband clayed the exterior and the paint job looks amazing for a 16 y.o. car....Got the leaper on the hood though!
My dad has a 1978 series 2 Daimler sovereign, just an amazing car!! He's been looking for a newer jag but he's really disappointed with what they've turned into! My friend has a 2013 fake jag and yes its comfortable and a lovely drive but it ain't a jag 😂
‘If I get into it, I’m gonna drive myself Ape shiet’ 🤣🤣😂😂
Excellent video excelent information most beautiful car 👍👍
Possibly the most beautiful car i've ever seen.
Bill - suggestion - make web site address a hyperlink so we can go straight to site. Thanks. Doug
I grew up knowing of Jaguars having 12 cylinders with the Jag on the hood jumping out. I miss that. Jaguar also had that beautiful 2 door sports car I use to love. You’re right cars I like are diminishing for me as well.
Loved comparing this Jag to my type 3 4.0 very nice
Bill’s the UA-cam Honey Badger, he doesn’t give a shit. It’s so refreshing to find a great channel as this.
Bill your the last of the real sales men
I hav the jaguar XJ8 super v8 edition. $100,000 new. It was from palm beach Jaguar. I’ve had it for yrs..it’s still my favorite car..love it!
That really is the last real XJ! I have one too and I hope to get it on the road soon!
Jagwaar!
ps : Just teasing! Great video as usual!
I have an 08 xj in midnight blue with factory 20'' chrome wheels. Absolutely love the car. My first car was a 1983 Camaro that is the same color as the one that keeps showing up in background. lol
I've got one of the original X350s (before the facelift) - these truly do make you feel good and catch the eye of a passerby, whereas a BMW 7-series or a Merc S-Class won't. Perhaps being here in Britain helps as Jags are sort of motorist royalty here, as Bill has wisely identified! Mine is a V6 which is perfectly adequate but this model here was gorgeous and definitely the last *true* Jag before the radicalised 2009 model.
I look forward to your commentary when you turn on the radio
Bill is a character.
You can't necessarily put any one specific label on him,.
But you always want to hear what he's going to say next.
Bill is awesome.
Moments like 5:30 is why I love Bill😂😂😂
Best review
Bill...Perfect!..I have a 2007 XK convertible(40k) and feel the same way about what you said.
I went to the website and the car is not listed.
Any help?
A gorgeous car...a sure collector!
I’ve never seen the long wheelbase version of this car. It’s pretty well executed, and I love a big backseat and a proper big back door. 🤭
I love your videos!!!!! Next time in in Naples, I'll stop by... I'll bring Whiskey & Marijuana.......
Don't forget the 9
If only this particular jag had the hood ornament
No!!! I wish more cars came here without a hole in the hood. Too many US dealers ruin perfectly good body work with a drill.
Zach im glad im not your neighbor because i would have to see the look of disgust on your face everytime i pull up in my 2007 xk that i had this huge mk2 cat installed on the hood or bonnet or whatever you call it, lol....
@@chocolatecitymagazineinmot3807 i have a classic Lincoln with hood ornament. Classy.
@@chocolatecitymagazineinmot3807
A hood ornament on an XK? That's atrocious.
The very reason why some Jaguars (and never sportscars!) got a hood ornament from factory was to prevent people putting some kind of car ornament on their cars and ruin it with their lack of taste.
@Underbird , And lets not forget that the Leaper is off a MKll so its huuuuuge!!!!! 🤪
I have a 2005 XJ8 and I love it. The air suspension light comes on but who cares. It’s just fun to drive, it has a stance and a feel that I haven’t experienced before. Best car I’ve ever owned and it only cost me 8 grand
Old cars are always beautiful
Absolutely hilarious Bill!!
The funniest car review ever 😂. Cool 😎
I’d like to see that Merc R class and I’d really like to see that silver Lexus LS430 sedan
Ha, heated and cooled seats but no navigation. You don’t see that often. Love it.
Some of them have it some of them don't. There are different versions of the same model. Basically this one is the cheapest of that models and it's still a great car.
Beautiful car
my favorite Jaguar
very cool car, I like it! Nice
22:30 - Sums up why we all gravitate towards XJs sooner or later... :-D
Dark tinted windows, black wheels with brake calipers painted racing green …. SWEET!
LOVE this car. Vanden Plas will always be better.
I was wondering about the leg room because I am 6'5". Thanks for letting me know.
If I were going to let go of my Panther (2001 Town Car), this Jag might be the car that caused me to do it. Both are Fords, really, and both are among the most reliable of big luxury cars. If I hadn't been able to absolutely steal this beautiful one-owner, dealer maintained TC a couple of years ago, I might go looking for one of these right now. But I know it would cost a lot more, and I just bought a C4 Corvette that needs some refreshing. Can't have it all.
Still, I'm very tempted. The Jag is just flawlessly executed. I wouldn't change a thing, except I'd probably insist on the standard wheelbase version. IMO, Ford has been an under-rated car company in recent years.
What a machine. I need this..
looks nice!
The long beep is an error tone for the park aid system. That means it’s not functioning.
Man I just started watching like a few weeks ago and cant get enough this video funny as hell I died when you were talking about how nice it is then looks up look at these NITWITZ lol
