I have not listened to the interview coz o reached a point and felt we live in such a chauvinistic society,What men want from women,How to keep your marriage as a woman, how to prevent your man from cheating etc etc I am yet to come across the same craze/interviews on what a man should do to keep a woman or Iam I looking in the wrong place.....I feel this is the reason as to why the burden of marriage has been heavily placed on the woman that the man does soo little and when the walls of Jericho come crashing its still the woman's fault....Most men have no role or rather don't know their roles other that siring, and still the woman will be schooled on how to please the man.....What an unbalanced society.....My 2cents.

    1. Accountability is Upward, Downwards and latitudinal.
    2. Marriage is not to make you Happy it is to be more Christlike.
    3. I am the image that my children mould a Man around.
    4. Monogamy is a daily choice, anchored on Value.
    5. Let Us reconstruct Marriage to its original model of a covenant and commitment. Modeling Christ & His Bride.

Yes. Great message. Thank Dr Odera. Going on 49 years in January 2023. Forgiveness, balance, accountability-vertical/horizontal/downward and values are exactly! Looking at every word, they are part of God’s character. We learn as we walk daily in our marriages. Work in progress no matter how many years you have in marriage. Everyday we learn new things to accomplish as husband and wife. Thank Lynn for an awesome show.

Personally, I paid my wife's dowry but I think dowry payment should be abolished. I am a dad of daughters and I don't plan to ask for their dowries. Personally, I find it funny that the most woke Kenyan feminists will call all our African traditions and men backward yet she has no problem with her parents asking for and receiving her dowry. I am lucky my in-laws were reasonable and understanding ..but the things I see out here.
It can be sugarcoated(to appreciation) but dowry payment was and is by fact objectifying a woman as a commodity to be owned by a man who pays it. Modern-day reality is some men think after paying the dowry a woman will be their property like old days only to find their wife one week later in bed with another man who only bought her lunch worth Ksh 800.
What follows is violence, bitter break up / rudisha dowry, oh disappointment because the woman refused to submit as expected because you "bought her" etc. We can willingly appreciate both our parents multiple times, build them homes if we can, gift them occasionally, and visit them but that occasion "dowry" with whatever meaning it holds to go away. Am not a fan of those dances either 😂😂😂

I think the reason as to why there are so many divorces it because of first idolizing your partner forgetting that God comes first, second high expectations from your spouse forgetting you are dealing with a human being who ain't perfect, has some shortcomings. I believe marriage was God's idea so let Him be the center of what you two do.

Marriage is meant to make us CHRIST LIKE..GOOD
    1. JESUS CHRIST gave Himself for the Church. He is the Head.
    2. He gave. He served.
Himself as the Head washed His disciple's feet
    3. Remained humble though He was the Head.
    4. He was a Teacher. He taught in humility, love and peace.
    5. He had time to pray to His Father.
This tells us clearly what is lacking in the African man.
Its very easy for a woman to submit when treated right.
To be honest, the biggest problem marriages are experiencing today is on the side of raising the boy child without training him to be a real man.
May the Lord intervene on this issue .

You cannot live without trust and if He or she does it once, He will keep and doing it again and again 🤷‍♀️👏👏

Hey Lynn. Thanks for the opportunity to give what to hear next from him. Let him talk about submission and love. I have heard a teaching from a preacher that when a man as the head fails to provide for the family materially and spiritually , he is no longer the head does that mean the lady can be the head in case of such a senario.
Then this preacher talked about the power of submission. Please let him tell us how far is too far. Do you submit even when the driver is taking you to a ditch?
I have also heard from him talking about those ladies who find it hard to submit coz the character of the man is wanting and his descisions are not sober. If i heard it well in such circumstances he called it ," you married wrong"
Is there something like marrying wrong? And what can we do about it if the character and choices of the one we are supposed to submit are bad?

Someone has simply refused to watch this interview because Lynn was supposed to have a female guest alongside the guest of the day to counteract his arguments. This is simply misguided feminism of our age .This mindset of antagonising men against women and vise versa is the result of a broken society we see today. Men and women have achieved a lot working together rather working from opposing camps. In any case there can never be a better world in the absence of either men or women. If all you wanna listen to is what makes you happy, then you will never learn. Kudos Lynn.

Very true! However, let's not bore the planet with an over discussed topic! Balance is CRUCIAL.
But this was a knowledge sharing session, not an argument or debate, someone refusing to watch it, stems fro a choice based on personal reasons which vary from that person's experiences, intellect, spiritual growth etc .....why would you automatically imagine it's "feminism"? Rather misguided.

We tend to define love prospectively which am ok with because it speaks mostly to the conscious aspect of love. Retrospective definition reveals that love goes so deep into our subconscious mind, only those who have gone through a heartbreak can explain this visceral gut wrenching experience that is as a result of love. I can say that our conscious mind contributes to 30% of what love is and the subconscious mind contributes 70%. To render a proper a definition of what love is this two aspects must be actively considered.

Very wise words abt Marriage. This union has been so over rated with fancy Weddings for show off. It has lost it's initial meaning. Go back to the roots, God's created the Woman to be a Man's *HELPER* in the Marriage Companionship/Partnership. #GodFirst #GodAboveAll #MerryChristmas 🎄

I disagree on that part of Central women being tough because of generational trauma.
Well documented even before colonialism, the women were hard workers, tough, the society was women led.
Also therapy is a Western concept, going back to the tribe for help was the best remedy for marriage and conflict..
Also the girls belonged to women, you as a father were to train your boys how to lead the home and be a man, women were to take care of the girl and show her how to make the home..
Now things have switched men are giving themselves the work of training girls, and women men.. You can feel the shift in society

Kenyan men just need to start making money, real money, taking care of business, and STOP this nonsensical WHINING. You don't hear Nigerians or any other men for that matter complaining all over. Sura hamna, pesa hamna, tabia hamna.

I don’t believe in dowry. However created this dowry thing should know that you can’t pay love. Marriage should be based on love. I love painting and my girls do it and we love it and enjoy it. If you can do anything, don’t be stopped by people’s perspectives and gender based biases.

As time goes by priorities, preferences and decisions are guided by different choice requirements. A 34 and a 47year old see things differently. Truth is a feminist may not be one 10years from now. Eventually the rhythm is gonna get you...
