You made that a unique "Japanese Apartment Video" with your quirky style. The shower demonstration, while fully clothed, is very avant garde. I am surprised you have not embraced the Japanese clothes drying technique.

Why does this feel like the older Animal Crossing games when you’re looking around different houses with Tom Nook 😭 Another great video!

I like your video style, it's a bit jumpy in a way I don't find overstimulating, and a nice mix of cozy and energetic.
It was also very informative! Thank you for sharing your life in Japan!

I just stumbled across your channel here. I'm your neighbor to the north in Sendai, and even here that price is outrageously cheap for the space you've got. I'm actually surprised by all the gas tanks (apparatuses?) you have, especially in the shower room. I think I've only seen the water heater you have over your kitchen sink before. Looks like some cozy living! Thanks for sharing

Aspiring JET interviewing on Friday! Thanks for the apartment tour!
Every city is also different regarding trash! Some cities have EVERYTHING seperated, some are just trash, plastic bottles, glass, cardboard. I've lived in one of each of those citties and it was a huge adjustment going from a strict city to one so lenient. I felt like I was comitting a crime putting plastic bottle labels in the trash, but thats how the 2nd city did it lol. That was just four months though and with host families while studying abroad. I hope to get in and someday make a video like this of my own!

there can never be enough japanese apartment tour videos, I find them morbidly interesting especially the tiny ones, yours looks pretty big compared to most, I could easily live somewhere like that its comparable to what I'm used to, and we used to have gas water heaters in the UK like that in the kitchen my mum had one when I was a kid in the 80s, its called an Ascot here I don't know if they still make them, you can get electric versions still I know that, not sure if thats worse electric+water always sounded dodgy to me.

Clearly basic is bringing in the views lmao. Definitely one of the more entertaining apartment tours though, most of these videos blend together with how many I've seen.
Even 6 times the cost of your housing for a Tokyo apartment feels absurdly cheap compared to the UK. I'm just outside of London in a plain old town and even the cheapest option for my own place right now is £850 p/m for a tiny studio. £1000 deposit too of course! :D
Council housing is a bit better price wise but still not great and then there's the waiting lists.

as you said 12:10, it teacher housing, no way you can find anything for that price anywhere in japan, tokyo 1k is about 90k, osaka 1ldk is about 50k, and add initial cost which about 1~5 months of rent of non rent money (key money, deposit, fees)

The trash organization is great to make you not overbuy, because then if you don't want it you can't return it and now you have to deal with getting rid of it! makes you think wisely about what you buy.

Nice video. But note, you shouldn’t put your feet (socks) onto the genkan area, or you’ll just pick up all the dirt from your shoes are transport it straight into your rooms 👍.

Regarding the rent, that is clearly Board of Education subsidised levels. It is pointless to compare to London prices. Compare to what private rents are in Fukushima.
    Nice big apartment, BTW.

@ haha yeah! not to shill but my first video in this series is about the first week in tokyo on what’s called the JET programme; the Japan Exchange Teaching programme. it’s a system whereby the japanese government employs assistant language teachers, or ALTs (that’s me!) to work in various schools across the country. there’s about 2000 of us! with japan having very few foreign residents and a big issue with english study, the programme aims to promote cultural exchange and give students a reason to study english :D
