  • I meant to say shift cable, NOT throttle cable. Just a little more help on this particular style of cable, since I couldn't find it myself on YT. it is recommended to replace both parts even if only one part breaks.

    At what point do you put the little spring clip back in?

    • @ZBvids
      @ZBvids  3 дні тому +1

      Before you put the 2 peices back together. The clip "locks" them together

    Wow man I thought I was suppose to put that tiny clip back with both cables... you just made my day now I will just use the white clip with both cables together? No tiny clip on both cables?

      I would put it back together how it was, just to be safe

      As long as you make sure its on correctly before you connect the 2 parts you should not have to take it apart to remove the clip.

    Yeah so I was unfortunate enough to lose the little metal clip while disassembling.... do you have any idea if the GM dealers would have oem clips? I bought some c clips that looked similar but none of them fit, I will try again after work. Just figured I'd ask. I'm starting to feel like it's one of those parts where you are screwed if you lose it. Might have to scavenge a junkyard later.

      No they don't sell the clip. They sell the entire cable because they're assholes

      If you need to take the clip off, make sure you put it back on.

      Sounds like you will need to adjust your cable. Make sure the shifter is in park, and that the transmission is in park when you adjust it and re connect both cables.

      Sorry to hear that, the clip is more difficult than it needs be

    So the deal is you're not supposed to take the clip out it's a one-time install. That's the trick. Realize the clip is dumb, buy the upper cable for $50 and it takes 5 minutes

      Yup, or jist the lower, depending on which end is broken.

    What you did wrong was call that a throttle cable in the very beginning of your video... that's a shift linkage cable not a throttle cable

      Yeah, I think I realized that as I said it, but I have not given any time in learning how to edit my videos yet. But the title is right.

      That is the same cable that's in my 2004 yukon. A PITA to get the white plastic U clip that locks it in place to engage. Was a real pain.
