For a world-class athlete, 57 is not old. My best lifts on incline bench press we're at age 56 and 57. And if I hadn't stopped going to the gym for 5 years, the strength would have increased. I did heavy landscaping on hillsides during my 50s. And Mike Tyson has 10 times my genetics.

As someone who was once a beast who has calmed down a ton, the beast isn't dormant. I am not the same man I was. Im not upset about that. I've honed other aspects of myself. But I do not have that fire I used to have. I imagine Mike is in a similar boat. Seeing him train, yes he's impressive still, especially for his age. But he's not even close to the animal he used to be.
The skill gap is far greater than the age gap. Mike's skills are so far above Jake's. That's the main factor and it will come into play before age works against Mike. Those first 2-3 rounds are going to be the most important in the fight.
He won't have the explosive power needed to take out Jake that fast. Jake is younger and has way more stamina. People simply don't realize how much of an effect age has. There's a reason you don't see many athletes compete past 35. You hit a brick wall.

But he doesn't have damage like other champions. His speed is still there. That was noted when he went against RJJ. And speed goes before strength. Rules will be the only saving grace for Paul. Also why RRJ had his rules set with clauses that made the fight boring. But he would have crippled Roy. Now Roy is the example of losing speed. It happened well before his career ended.

Tyson still has the power and technique to put anyone to sleep with a clean hit, but the difference in stamina and mobility between the two is going to be huge. As long as he can avoid getting caught his advantage will grow with every passing minute. But this is a show-fight anyway, it´s about getting stupidly rich off of a single fight and in that sense Jake has already won. I´m still rooting for Mike, because if he loses and this ends up being his last match that would feel kind of like he sold out his career for a big paycheck at the end

Electric muscle stimulation absolutely does help with injuries. When i broke my leg and strained a ligament in my knee when i was 14, i had physical therapy every week, amd every session we did electrical therapy on leg. And that was 20 yrs ago. So its medically recognized as well for its benefits
When you're 14, body heals much faster. After 40, body slowly deteriorates and doesn't heal as fast as when you're a teenager or young man.
