But he was absolutely incredible when he stepped into the ring .... D 'Amato was a legendary trainer and a major influence in Tyson's life. I remember countless times back in the day at the beginning of Tyson's boxing career ....watching Mike Tyson walk in the ring ...no flash or showboating....and in one punch his opponent hit the canvas. And to see him at age 55 still kicking ass is amazing to see. Wrestling is not as competitive as boxing but Flair's a legit athlete. He also managed to stay in good health post- career, & that also is not easy to do.
My dad turns 74 this year. He ran 14 marathons, a few extremer ones (marathon usually means more or less flat, the harder ones are cross country), some alpine runs in high altitude and the davos ultra-marathon for example. Fucked up his foot while training. Later turned to cycling and until his mid 60s he had some kind of cycling group with some ex national mtb masters, tdf etappe winner and some others (most of them I checked they all have wiki articles and seem quite serious). Of course there are always some young talents with these guys. and even though most of the group was already old at that time, they were able to show the young guys how it's done. Because it is a mind game! The Body is an amazing machine if well maintained. Don't underestimate the elders :D Ofc they wouldn't have been able to beat a vingegaard for example. At least not if it's fair share of the work. But cycling can get nasty you can burn a person out quite easily Before you ask I did some endurance sports mostly running and biking, but also swimming. Switched to bodybuilding though because all of the above take way too long and in the end of the day you don't look like you do sports hahaha

D 'Amato was a legendary trainer and a major influence in Tyson's life. I remember countless times back in the day at the beginning of Tyson's boxing career ....watching Mike Tyson walk in the ring ...no flash or showboating....and in one punch his opponent hit the canvas.
And to see him at age 55 still kicking ass is amazing to see. If you've never seen Mike Tyson in his beginning career in boxing ....you are missing seeing one of the best fighters to ever step in the ring.

@@daruddock, do you know how strong you have to be to do what Ric Flair does? and strength alone doesn't cut it. Wrestlers have to be flexible & have a jaw & frame that can take & absorb punishment. Wrestling is not as competitive as boxing but Flair's a legit athlete.

My dad turns 74 this year. He ran 14 marathons, a few extremer ones (marathon usually means more or less flat, the harder ones are cross country), some alpine runs in high altitude and the davos ultra-marathon for example.

Later turned to cycling and until his mid 60s he had some kind of cycling group with some ex national mtb masters, tdf etappe winner and some others (most of them I checked they all have wiki articles and seem quite serious). Of course there are always some young talents with these guys. and even though most of the group was already old at that time, they were able to show the young guys how it's done. Because it is a mind game! The Body is an amazing machine if well maintained. Don't underestimate the elders :D
Ofc they wouldn't have been able to beat a vingegaard for example. At least not if it's fair share of the work. But cycling can get nasty you can burn a person out quite easily
Before you ask I did some endurance sports mostly running and biking, but also swimming. Switched to bodybuilding though because all of the above take way too long and in the end of the day you don't look like you do sports hahaha

I have been doing my job for 24 years now i dont even think about work my body does it without my knowledge i go home and dont remember what happened.
