@@MSFSFlightPlans my hometown is Sao Jose dos Campos (SBSJ) here in Brazil but there's nothing much to see around here lol it's Embraer's base, though. I could plot a tour around if you want, with plenty of interesting sites to see... just let me know
Sweet! Just give me a list of the main sites you'd check out if you were flying it. I'd probably wind up tweaking any plan you sent, so no sense in both of us making flights. I'll give it a look and see if we can make it work. We'll be hitting Sao Paulo pretty soon, too.
so first of all I know this won't be a cheesy video and am thinking no forts here but old fashioned wind mills now time to watch an Awesome video Thank You
Hey Nick, some nice additional info: Spotters hill ( The Pyramid) in Hoofdorp was built for the Floriade 2002 a big exhibition and is now used as a stage at the big festival Mysteryland, the Koepel in haarlem was a prison and is now used as exhibition space and for events. I didn't know there were so many forts in this area. Nice to see and hear the back ground information about this area.
Cool! I saw the affiliation with Floriade but was afraid to try to pronounce it. 🤐 After the flight, I read there are/were a total of 42 forts on the Defense Line. But I'm not sure if that was just the little ones or included some of the bigger installations, too. I think I was able to spot 39 from the air ... if we count the one on the island. In other news, I checked out Petra. There is an addon (by Jeppison, no less) but they only did 4 of the sites. Those looked great, but the rest were unidentifiable- just fuzzy blurs. It's too bad because that is one of the most interesting sites in the world, IMO.
I had the same issue with the standby alternator in Bonanza. It was a conflict with my Honeycomb controller where the Bravo had a button assigned to it. So search for that input in your controller and remove it from mapping.
As someone who has flown every aircraft I was aware of in the sim, and then a few handfuls of planes I wasn't aware of until your videos, do you have any favorites? Care to share a top 3 perhaps? Keep the videos coming, always a pleasure :)
That's a really tough call ... The DC-6 is way up there, the 414W, then maybe the Twin Otter. That last one is breaking my heart, and I wish they would either relaunch it or get it debugged. I'm a pretty huge fan of all the liners, just because I like complexities. Thanks for checking in!
Nice flight I've only been to Amsterdam Schiphol and the train station unfortunately, I should check out Amsterdam some day.. If you do Rotterdam at some point very close to the POI marker for the Port of Rotterdam is a terminal with a triangular end, about 2/3 of they way up that terminal is some equipment installed by my firm that is visible as a grey rectangle - it is not quite 100% but it is there and it destroys hazardous air pollutants released from the storage tanks that come from temperature changes and during loading and unloading. Since I spent some time on site I can suggest the town of Brille which has an interesting history that partly revolves around the first of April (something for you to research). Also, on second of November 2020 one of the funniest train crashes (insofar as a train crash could be funny) happened at Spijkenisse - luckily nobody was hurt but it is worth checking out. A challenge for your flight to Rotterdam is not to quote from the song by the Beautiful south "This could be Rotterdam or anywhere..."
1. That is a great song and I'm glad you mentioned it. The weather is crisp and breezy today in Jax and it is the perfect background music for my daily paper push. 2. There are a crapload of addons we didn't even get to for the area around Rotterdam. So we'll definitely be heading back there at some point.
Thanks Nick for a real Dutch treat!
Awesome!
oohhhh man!!! I can keep watching your vids anytime in my life! thank you for yet another amazing history/flying class!
Glad you enjoy it!

@@MSFSFlightPlans aahhh if we're having Sao Paulo soon I'd rather sit tight and wait patiently for it then. ;)

It's a horn o' plenty for the eyeballs. Happy almost Thanksgiving.
Our Dutch neighbours, masters at taming the sea. Beautiful area to fly over. Cheers Nick ;)
I really is astounding to think of how much global projection those guys managed during their hayday.

I did the flight in VR it’s great 🙌
Nick your a boss💪 thanks
Of course! Thanks for the suggestion.
Naarden kind of reminded me of Carcassonne in France, which also looks good in the sim. Really enjoyed this flight.
Yeah, super cool 😎

What!? Oh jeez, Max. If you wouldn't have said that, I'd never have even considered it. That's got to be it. THANK YOU!
