What a brilliant and very informative video, I spent 65 years of my life in Liverpool, and didn’t know hardly anything that you’ve been pointing out. amazing, cheers mate!
Glad you enjoyed it
Absolutely delightful tour over God's own country. Incredible level of research must go into the commentary. Really enjoyable to watch.
by gosh by golly it's time for MSFS Flight plans and holly. this was an Amazing video Thank You
The pleasure was all mine, good sir. 😍
Another great video. One of my cousins lived in Ilkley back when I lived in the UK. I spent a lot of time staying with them and doing weekend bicycle trips up into the Dales. It was always a thrill biking along the top of a valley and then having a bunch of Tornado's zipping by low level below me. Some of the most gorgeous landscapes in the UK.
I really want to take a trip out there. Every time I fly the region, it seems like my mood improves. 😌
I've lived in the North East but visited the places you flew over many times. Ive learnt more about the area from you than i have in the last 50 years. Great flight. If you want some more history, come over to rhe East side from Durham, over my home town, Newcastle and up the Northumbrian coast to Berwick. Its a stunning area of the world
Love it! Thanks for the tip!
Sorry I missed the group flight. I flew the route the other day and especially enjoyed the landing at Telluride. This one reminds me of Kansas.
No worries! We'll see you next time, HG.
The first Blackpool airport is where Blackpool zoo is today. The elephant house is the old hanger .
Oh wow, that's cool! Thanks for filling in that gap for us.
Loved the flight, it brought back fond memories of a Church Fenton air show I attended back in the late 60's.
I now live on the South Coast and would suggest making a video of Portsmouth and surrounding areas, this could include the Isle of White, where Queen Victoria often retreated to. The Needles (the West end of I.O.W.) Portsmouth Navel Dockyard. Porchester Castle and various other forts dotted in the Solent. During WW2, in preparation for the D-Day landings, Gosport was awash with allied troops.
Incidentally, after watching your video, I pre-ordered MSFS 2024 (Steam) although I doubt I'll manage to recreate the graphics you've managed to create.
I hope this will make your Monday complete!

Great video thanks for sharing, now fly North from Blackpool to my home airport Walney Island EGNL. This is the gateway to the English Lake district and up to Carlisle EGNC.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
@@MSFSFlightPlans Great. Enjoy 😎
not sure why i was recommend this from UA-cam but glad it did. nice to see my city (lancaster) getting a history briefing!! heads up heysham is pronounced ' HEE-SHUM'. keep up the good vids.
Ooooh man! And I was so confident I would impress a local by not calling it hay-SHAM. Well, that's not the first time the internet burned me, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Thanks for setting us straight and I hope to see you around!
@@MSFSFlightPlans hahaha dont worry to much i know loads in the northwest that pronounce it wrong!!
Thanks Nick, one of your best. I also grew up just east of Leeds (Kingston Upon Hull) so I may be a little biased. Hull was not a great place to live and in 1969 my parents emmigrated to beuatiful Australai. Still here and love the place.
Where in Australia are you, Steve? I am setting up a Gold Coast flight as we speak for our next trip. Maybe I can hit ALL of your hometowns!
@@MSFSFlightPlans I'm in the Blue Mountains about 80km west of Sydney (village of Wentworth Falls) so too far south of the Gold Coast. I'm going to Tasmania in a couple of weeks for a month and when I get back I hope to put together Sydney and surrounds flight for you to review (MSFS 2024 will be released while I'm away so I may get a little distracted for a short while)!
@@stevenorrisphoto Yeah man, anything you think is worth scoping out, send it on over! Have fun in Taz.
Hope you and your family are ok ? Nice flight ✈️ so sad for Florida love this place so much👌
Yes, thank you
Nice video as always! 🙂 Glad you and your family are safe from the Hurricane Milton. Devastating scenes in Florida. I thought of you when I saw a Norwegian journalist reported live from Jacksonville on the news here.
Thanks Toby!
Glad you and yours were not badly affected by the hurricane(s). One reason that Rembolds moor looks like it does is because in April 2019 somebody set it on fire! There s little visible evidence of the Roman fort in Ilkley, a small amount of wall is about it, Family runour is that my Grandmother was adopted and her birth Grandfather was part of the Lister family who owned Lister mills (he got disinherited either because he wanted to be a jockey or he was too fond of betting on the horses). There is a municipal park in Bradford called Lister Park after the same family.
So what are all those cut marks across the moors? Are they harvesting peat?
I don't know what the cause is, I don't think it is peat harvesting as would be difficult to extract?
I want an Arrow 3 that performs that well! Looks like low pressure pump on. That can cause rough running in UK temperatures when taxying. Best off.
Good thing closing all power stations down is that the horizon is visible most days, except for bad weather days. Back in the 90's i could wash my trousers and the water would be sulphur yellow. This visibility in the video was rare.
Pompeii and Herculaneum are kind of fun in a helicopter, with a landing in Mt Vesuvius thrown in. They don’t look perfect but they do look interesting.
That's a GREAT location! Good call.
Is this an add on?
