If you are meaning to say that Covid-19 is an FEV its not it might be a really shitty try at it but it failed what it needs to be if it were ment to be an FEV. An FEV forces mutation while covid directly kills cells and if the host isnt strong enough than it dies. In short covid is a failed experiment made by comunist china
They worked. There is even a video of them showing it off. It weighed 50 lbs but hell it's been 60-70 years and we have been reducing the size of regular nukes for that entire time. No reason they wouldn't also be working on the mini nuke as a byproduct of doing small scale tests to save resources. Just because it isn't in production for mass use in part because we technically aren't allowed to make any more right now because of UN agreements doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Also the original comment was directed at mindless zombies are easier to deal with than semi intelligent hulks that can use modern weapons.
Well yeah obviously. Still not the point. Also how do super mutants use mini nukes in the game? Suicide bombers. If they find a stock pile of the ones designed to be fired from howitzers, the W48, then the same scenario could still play out. For super mutant suicide bombers the least achievable part is the super mutant and not the bomb that already exists.
Bethesda took inspiration from the M-28 or M-29 Davy Crockett Weapon System. However, the M-28 was nowhere near small enough to be carried and fired by a single person. Just the M-388 projectile weighed 76 pounds. The launcher had to be mounted on a tripod or vehicle. Personal miniguns are far closer to practicality than personal nuclear bomb launchers.

A quick reminder that most of the giant creatures of the Wasteland, like the Rad Scorpions weren't just made from the mutations Radiations causes in DNA. They actually come from tanks containing the F.E.V getting damaged after the bombs, and leaking their contents into the atmosphere, literally creating new species almost overnight! So, must mutant creatures are actually a combination of F.E.V and Radiation alterations. Of course, this means there should be more variations of Super Mutant, as people got exposed to the virus in different conditions and quantities.
That's a great one! and how strong he has to be to swing a hammer that is PROPPELLED BY FUCKING ROCKET ENGINES. Also, biggest (=most hp) "man" he can crush/instakill with charge is bastion, and he's made out of some goddamn future steelish-alloy... How much force is behind a charge to destroy the integrity of bastion's machinery enough that he ceases to function?
He doesn't have to crush bastion, just use enough sudden force to cause damage to his circuits. Bastion likely "falls apart" as part of a sort of safety switch in case he ever be captured so that he cannot be reverse engineered. Now this brings us to the destroyed bastions we see on maps like eichanwalde, The answer is simple, they were damaged beyond what they deemed to be "repairable".

Micheal Carr Yeah if you are still growing then it could cause aby one of a large number of disfiurments. I like the idea of a pip boy but I think there would be a better way of going about it.
Thanks for all the great content! Glad you got to touch on the RL side of FEV though you only scratched the surface ^_^ was cool you mentioned CRISPR but you left out mutagens at the beginning which are what's used to cause "mutations" albent unlikely included in the FO lore... And Hybrids or "post humans" but I suppose that tiptoes between the enhanced soldiers (FEV enclave boss) and institute synths which would make it difficult to express within one short topic.. There are many real hidden gems in the lore if we read between the lines like the original Tesla armor description and how Tesla actually built it and had a patent and schematics which mysteriously disappeared around the time a certain military obtained a similar working patent. Kudos if you know where those refrences are ingame.
here's a really image to explain the size differences between vacuum tubes and transistors. They do a very similar job as one another and by using a vacuum tube over a transistor the tech becomes much larger to accommodate the larger tubes. www.kvglabs.com/tubesvssolisstate/
MartinGe_De a transistor amplifies or switches an electric signal or current. Without these, it makes the computer more complex and large. They are why laptops, personal phones, etc exist.
@@Johnrich395 yea, I love lab grown things😀 And CRISPR was a great way to respond to that. Also, China was the first to test CRISPR on humans. We should be at war with them for this😀
How about doing the most realistic scenario for a zombie apocalypse? I happen to know that there are existing zombie parasites in nature. One of which targets the Harvester ant. Look into it, it's really fascinating stuff

Pablo Cruz its still cool and there are other things in dishonoured he could talk about, also with dishonoured 2 coming out in less than a month it would be nice to have a slight refresher.
Elijah Jackson probably not because cancerous cells are just replicated cells you're body needs not new different cells so crispr if used to try to cure lung cancer would kill the cancer but also the lung cells it started from and killing you're lungs are not a good thing
Aidan Fuchs But if you could isolate the direct source of mutation within a cancerous cell's genome, and implant it into a virus as a CRISPR "target", it could hypothetically attack those specific cells and leave otherwise healthy one unaffected.
supersmashbro596 so evil gods don’t exist ? That’s new to me. The titans, many Inca, maya and Aztec gods, Ahriman, Kali, Seth, Yahweh. And there are many « good » immoral gods : Ares, Ishtar, Odin, Seth, Yahweh.
Theoretically, yes. But only to natural colors that can exist in human genetics. So you probably will need to wait a few more decades before science lets you have naturally blue or some odd color hair.
Speaking of, I have 3 different colors in my hair naturally. It is mostly brown, but I have streaks of blonde and black with the blonde having a higher concentration in the front. So it looks like two big blonde streaks framing my face.
because something that powerful will ALWAYS be a weapon, whether its creating genetically superior, but totaly subservient supersoldiers for the rich, or turning cancer into an airborn pathogen for eradicating entire countries for evil dictators, the market demand will be for weapons, and thus it will be a stain on the world even worse than the atom bomb.
CurvingFyre In that regard it is no different than any other tool humanity has ever possessed. From the bronze age, improving life and waging war with weapons and plows, to the splitting of the atom, powering cities and destroying them. Refusing CRISPER is no better than the cave-man who said no to bronze, or agriculture, or electricity, or any advancement of humanity. We now have a tool that can cure congenital heart disease and possibly extend and enrich our lives in a thousand different ways. Don't let fear of the unknown stop you from moving forward.
im not denying it, just telegraphing the fact that it will be a weapon, and a danger to the average person. not to mention the fact that the rich will make it outrageously expensive in the interest of making it into a privelege that only the rich can truly afford.
CurvingFyre What makes CRISPER unique is that it is cheep. That's it's quality. It is a scientific tool. You could possibly make a case for that some products made with CRISPER could be sold at artificially high prices, but making the process of manipulating genes intentionally higher is just illogical nonsense. It'd be like NASA building a rocket, then filling it with a bunch of rocks to make their trip to refuel the ISS unnecessarily more expensive for themselves. Also, the fact that a tool can be used malevolently is not an argument for that it shouldn't be used benevolently. Personally, I don't think it will be used destructively. There simply is no motivation. Science and market forces are the motivational drivers here. Besides I'm not at all convinced that ShoddyCast didn't go a little over the top with the technologies capabilities and embellished quite a bit. Besides, we already have super-viruses. CRISPER is just a tool to help us fight that threat too.
if the technology exists to create soemthing dangerous, human nature has proved time and time again that it will be used as such. and if one person has this dangerous advantage, everyone else will want one, etc, etc, its the concept of escalation. and i never said that they were going to make the process more expensive, their simply going to make people pay more for it. hereas an example of what i mean: in my sphere of freinds there are several with extremely strong alergies to certain things. there is a widespread treatment known as an epipen, which can be used to stop anaphylactic shock. another member of my circle studies in a facility that makes them. it costs about 5$ per pen. however, they cost over 600$ to buy. thats what im talking about. the medical applications will be all but unafordable to all but a few, and the weaponization will be nothing but a blight. thats not by the nature of the technology, but by the nature of the system.
My real question is could an underground "building" like the Institue's facility actually exist. Physically like structure, power supply, farms/gardens, living space, labs and most of a water.
Jerri Bruce My question would be, Why the FUCK are they so weak? They have institute laser guns that should be more powerful than regular laser guns, They can teleport and stuff, but are still easily destroyed. Wtf Bethesda?
That drives me crazy about their laser weapons too. I would understand if they were just made with a "quantity over quality" idea since the Institute like to swarm enemies with a bunch of synths, but if they couldn't afford to produce good laser weapons in bulk, wouldn't it just make more sense to teleport into armories and take those weapons?
Dear Austin, Do not pay attention to my username (I'm just an anonymous YT user). Anyways, down to business, a game came out within the past several days as a new installment to an already popular franchise. The reason why I'm writing to you is because this game has a piece of technology that blew my fucking mind. The best way I think I can address you about this is in the form of a question and in "your language." *clears throat* HOW THE F*** DOES THE FABRICATOR WORK IN Gears Of War 4?! It literally, or at least seems to, create weapons and defenses out thin f***ing air! UGH! my head hurts. Sincerely, Anonymous UA-cam User.
Toby Rowe theoretical atomic manipulation and alteration. You see im correct with the use of theoretical because i have no way to test and or prove it so ill just leave it at the shallow idea stage. Id assume if matter could be directly manipulated then the device would have a very dense rod(s) of the material(s) that the machine would essentially form things with. the rod would be small but weigh a ton or so as it actually contains that much compressed mass for ease of storage to use in the manipulation process to expand and shape the matter. I do not know of anything that works in the way i described so i dismiss the whole theory as game bullshit. makes for a totally bad ass story tool if you use it correctly.
logan oslund Everywhere except the US, maybe Canada, maybe Russia and definitely China, so the countries around them might be a little dangerous too. So Australia is safe and so is New Zealand

Problem with CRISPR is that while it is a usefull tool it is really limited to single celled organisms. That's why the Chinese are using embryos, the tool needs to be introduced early into a complex organism's development to work. At this current point (possible change but unlikely with CRISPR alone) we can't rapidly modify an already developed multicellular organism.
***** It isn't as easy as infecting every cell. When you get on a multicellular level, especially on the animal kingdom's level the process becomes much, much more complicated.

Micheal Carr I have wondered about that as well. It kinda made me not want a pip boy because it implies that the pip boy somehow grows into the hosts arm. And they irritates me.
Calvin Kary yea definitly seems like something wouldn't want on you i especially as 8 year old your going grow older and get bigger i can't imagine it growing with you
Micheal Carr Yeah if you are still growing then it could cause aby one of a large number of disfiurments. I like the idea of a pip boy but I think there would be a better way of going about it.
The Ingame explanation is simply that the Pip boys that are given in the Commonwealth Region are a different model.
I always thought that the pip-boy dug into a person's veins. I thought that was how it injected all those stimpaks into you seemingly instantly. =/
Wow the whole "China is researching this shit" part basically aged like fine milk
Feels like we're watching a documentary of 2019-2020 😂
Thanks for all the great content! Kudos if you know where those refrences are ingame.
that storyteller switch was amazing
I love the storyteller's stories! 😁
Please explain how a society without the transistor can make the Pip-Boy 3000?
Vacuum tubes
its why pip boys are so big
here's a really image to explain the size differences between vacuum tubes and transistors. They do a very similar job as one another and by using a vacuum tube over a transistor the tech becomes much larger to accommodate the larger tubes. www.kvglabs.com/tubesvssolisstate/
The Timejumper a transistor? Ya mean a micro processor, which btw was finally made in fallout and hence why pipboys were awesome for a good part..
MartinGe_De a transistor amplifies or switches an electric signal or current.
Without these, it makes the computer more complex and large.
They are why laptops, personal phones, etc exist.
What is Ana's biotic grenade made of? and how does it work?
This video really aged well with the recent plague and the medical response and exactly how that response was made.
I mean, he started describing the C19 jab halfway through, so yeah, big yikes.
@@Johnrich395 yea, I love lab grown things😀
And CRISPR was a great way to respond to that.
Also, China was the first to test CRISPR on humans.
We should be at war with them for this😀
@@ryla22 There are many reasons to go to war with the CCP.
How about doing the most realistic scenario for a zombie apocalypse? I happen to know that there are existing zombie parasites in nature. One of which targets the Harvester ant. Look into it, it's really fascinating stuff
You should do a video about the technology in dishonoured.
Epicplayer 62 it's really not that interesting, only the whale oil is anything extraordinary as the pistols, boats and swords are mostly based on real life. And the wall of Light is a oversized taser
Pablo Cruz its still cool and there are other things in dishonoured he could talk about, also with dishonoured 2 coming out in less than a month it would be nice to have a slight refresher.
An Apathetic William problem with that is that I'm lazy and not as funny as Austin.
flintlock pistols look awesome and swords make it so much more personal than just gunning your target down.
Could CRISPR work to kill cancerous cells hypothetically?
Elijah Jackson probably not because cancerous cells are just replicated cells you're body needs not new different cells so crispr if used to try to cure lung cancer would kill the cancer but also the lung cells it started from and killing you're lungs are not a good thing
Elijah Jackson the only "cure for cancer" we really have is nanobots but were still perfecting it
Aidan Fuchs But if you could isolate the direct source of mutation within a cancerous cell's genome, and implant it into a virus as a CRISPR "target", it could hypothetically attack those specific cells and leave otherwise healthy one unaffected.
Elijah Jackson the cells of the actual lung would be affected by the mutation
and targeted to because they are the first cell

actually it would be diabolus ex machina
the fev is portrayed as ANYTHING but good.
deus ex machina would imply it would be a good thing.

Could I change my hair color with CRISPER? :D
[my nerd moment has come]; *pushes up glasses* it's "CRISPR"
Where the hell would you go get all that shit done at though?? And what would the cost be?
Imagine future where plastic operation is done through virus that forces your body to change in some way
"Roger Maxson, founder of the illustrious, noble and moral paragon of humanity knows as the Brotherhood of Steel." Wow Storyteller, biased much?
He's a member of the West Coast chapter of the Brotherhood. What did you expect?
Jan Waclawik a smaller ego, to go with his dick
Jan Waclawik Need some water for that burn?
Considering the event he's describing, they were actually those things at the time. But yes, he's biased, it comes from being a member.
Why not use CRISPER to improve ourselves? Not forcefully or arbitrarily, of course. But eradicating genetic diseases.
because something that powerful will ALWAYS be a weapon, whether its creating genetically superior, but totaly subservient supersoldiers for the rich, or turning cancer into an airborn pathogen for eradicating entire countries for evil dictators, the market demand will be for weapons, and thus it will be a stain on the world even worse than the atom bomb.

Dear Austin, your videos and commentary have exponentially grown on me. Sincerely, Lukas.
Dear Bethesda, what the fuck is wrong with the Institute!?!?
My real question is could an underground "building" like the Institue's facility actually exist. Physically like structure, power supply, farms/gardens, living space, labs and most of a water.
Jerri Bruce My question would be, Why the FUCK are they so weak? They have institute laser guns that should be more powerful than regular laser guns, They can teleport and stuff, but are still easily destroyed. Wtf Bethesda?
+Ranger That is the real question!
and why aint there more then 70 people in the institute? not counting the synths
Dear Austin,
Do not pay attention to my username (I'm just an anonymous YT user). Anyways, down to business, a game came out within the past several days as a new installment to an already popular franchise. The reason why I'm writing to you is because this game has a piece of technology that blew my fucking mind. The best way I think I can address you about this is in the form of a question and in "your language." *clears throat*
HOW THE F*** DOES THE FABRICATOR WORK IN Gears Of War 4?! It literally, or at least seems to, create weapons and defenses out thin f***ing air! UGH! my head hurts.
Sincerely,
Anonymous UA-cam User.

I have three words because I'm lazy, 'HA BOUT NO'
Toby Rowe theoretical atomic manipulation and alteration.
19:08 spy that Undyne background tho
Simple. Efficient. Glorious.
holy shit this video was worth it just for the storyteller swearing
Should do a video on how strong Reinhart is. I know thats unclear but hey it would make for a good watch
Is there an place where the bombs didn't hit at all? Like no radiation and no explosion damage.
logan oslund Everywhere except the US, maybe Canada, maybe Russia and definitely China, so the countries around them might be a little dangerous too.
So Australia is safe and so is New Zealand
Mister SaggyMoobs Yea china nuked the US and most likely its allies and the US counter nuked China
That might be true but it wouldnt be paradise for them. There would be famines

The Odahviing if such a place does exist it wouldn’t be to fun to be there, I would be bombarded by nuclear radiation from around the world and terrible famine and illness

How does the Flood work in Halo compared to real life. Watch halo Mona Lisa on youtube it might help. Please do this mr.teacher man. Thank you for your time.

RIP storyteller
the thing about viruses that confused me is how do we know so much about them but we still don't know how to classify of its alive or not
Alex Wightman because the latter is more of a philosophycal question: what should an "object" have to be considered alive? Virus, in general, have some of the things that all living beings have, but not all of them.
Rip storyteller, you will be missed.😢
