I have the whole show on DVD-R. I posted many years ago a clip from that show where Charles Bronson honored "Duke" during that show but I forgot how I posted the clip here.
@@TheTerryE There are a lot of "All Star Parties" on youtube but not the Jimmy Stewart and Jack Lemmon one and only small clips from "Duke´s" All Star Party.
She departed the big screen while still SO beautiful. Still striking in the rather un-glamorous role with John Candy, but so many years in-between where she didn't do any movies...!
,Melihat ini mengingatkan saya lahir di beri nama Maureen oleh seorang penggemar berat Maureen Ohara.Ternyata setelah saya melihat video ini memang sangat mengagumkan.( Saya dari Indonesia)
how could these two people have not been totally in love with each other. I don't know. We are told it was just a deep friendship. She adored that man and vice versa. We will never really know, I guess.
Duke was my Icon growing up. In there's an old saying about America. Baseball, Apple Pie and Mom. Well in those days When Americans and many people around the world thought of America That saying became Baseball, Apple Pie, Mom and John Wayne! He was the same character off screen as on. Same integrity and honesty and same grit. Even though Maureen O'Hara was old enough to be my mother I was in love with her. Her and Anne Margaret. When Duke was laying in the hospital dying Maureen O'Hara traveled to our nations capitol to petition congress to strike a medal that said just one thing. John Wayne American. They did. Duke and Maureen O'Hara had a special friendship that they shared. Nothing twisted. Just a deep friendship of kindred spirits. I miss both of them. Just let me say that America was a much better place to live in in those days and Hollywood still had great actors and actress's. That America is long gone. John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara are not truly dead. Because they still live in people's memories. Duke had a saying in Spanish that he would always say to toast a drink. Oh and HOW Duke could drink a couple gallons of Whiskey and shrug it off. No one could match Duke drink for drink! The toast: "Salud "Sefis Tiempo para garstageles "Seimpre" Salud, [health] Pesetas, [money] y Tiempo para gustarlos [and time to enjoy them] Siempre [always]
Two old and dead friends. We should all be so lucky.
Everyone should have friends like those two.
They were great in "The Quiet Man" O'Hara was absolutely beautiful in her prime.
Two of Hollywoods greatest. Thank you to the Duke and the beautiful Marianne O’Hara.
Maureen O Hara ❤
These two friends were very special.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
They were absolutely fabulous together. She was his match in character and temper.
No, her character was much better than his. To my knowledge she wasn’t a white supremacist.

Wow what a voice xxxx
A very talented lady
Interesting to see the obvious attraction between these two icons. Wayne appeared to be emotionally effected. Sweet to see.
This was from the Variety Clubs Tribute to John Wayne from 1976. Would be nice to see the whole program.

John looks embarrassed
I think he's just moved, and maybe embarrassed by that. But that's only my opinion.
Best wishes
No, I think he was very touched and was trying to hold on to his emotions.
