I remember she mounted a campaign to get the Whitehouse to give John Wayne the Congessional Medal of Freedom. I think she was successful , her voice cracked with emotion .
John Wayne, was one of the countries greatest men in acting. His Loyalty to his country was unlike no other. His charisma on stage would mirror no other. He wanted to represent the good in man. The struggle in hardship, and the triumph in accomplishments. Oh, if he were here today, what would he have to say about our Country & Hollyweird. I wonder.. Was he one of them... Or was he forced to reason with demons. Silence, mums the word. regardless, He will be missed.
They both filmed 'The Quiet Man' in County Galway. One scene of the train station, was filmed at Ballglunin railway station, near my mother's home place in Crumlin, Ballyglunin, Co. Galway, Ireland. It's unused now but still there in all its glory
I love seeing these two together! They loved each other as a brother and sister would! They are both together in heaven now recreating the Quiet Man one last time!
Loved it when she got caught back at their home and they got warm and loving towards each other that's what I was hoping all through the movie.. She was so pretty in every movie she made hair done or not.. That Irish spit flute she could really for it and she is Catholic saw her make the cross across her chest on stage. Loved her so.much as a person and actress..
John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, what a magic couple they were on screen. One of my al time favourite movies was "The Quiet Man". Set in Connemara with such great actors as Barry Fitzgerald, Victor McLaglen, and Ward Bond and directed by John Ford. The one and only time I ever saw Maureen O'Sullivan in the flesh, was in or around 1987 in the foyer of the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. She was wearing a full length mink coat, with a vibrant green scarf. What a beauty she looked with her gorgeous red locks.............
Maureen O'hara was the only woman to completely own every movie she shared with John Wayne. In his other movies, one would struggle to name any female co-star but when it was Maureen O'hara, John Wayne's star power met its match. She was beautiful, smart, and fierce. John Wayne was good friends with her husband. She said in one interview that they were basically the same build great friends and when she walked away from the industry, it was after Wayne and the husband basically teamed up and expressed the opinion that it was time. If you ever get a chance, I recommend seeing the "making of The Quiet Man". In the scene where she slaps him, she meant it and Wayne knew she had hurt herself doing it and that night, he dragged her off to medical treatment. She had broken a bone in that hand.
Wonderful memories going to the movies and seeing these two wonderful performers, every time I see one of there movies listed in the TV Guides I watch or tape it, you know you will be entertained. Such a beautiful couple on screen. R.I.P. to Hollywood Legends....

I enjoyed the two of them in the all the movies that both starred in. They made you laugh and get enraged and so glad they got together at the end.
I HAVE WATCHED SEVERAL OF HIS MOVIES LATELY...LOVE HIM.
I was named after Maureen O ' Harrah, my father loved the movies. Like her I have natural Red Hair, which is still a decent colour. I remember she mounted a campaign to get the Whitehouse to give John Wayne the Congessional Medal of Freedom. I think she was successful , her voice cracked with emotion .
What a sweet , genuine woman. Gorgeous too...
She's stunning...right up there with Rita Hayworth, Sophia Lauren....
Funny how there on screen chemistry was the same in real life. They would have made a perfect couple. Both were Irish Americans.
Two of my favorite actors. There both missed !
i am REAL Irish (not fake) and i do not miss that bad b itch wayne

TRUE MOVIE LEGENDS.
“There’s no way to not make her beautiful, we tried that!” ☘️❤️☘️
John Wayne, was one of the countries greatest men in acting.
Great movie..Greetings from Ireland
I love seeing these two together! They loved each other as a brother and sister would! They are both together in heaven now recreating the Quiet Man one last time!
She was stunningly beautiful and he was always a gentleman
Loved it when she got caught back at their home and they got warm and loving towards each other that's what I was hoping all through the movie.. She was so pretty in every movie she made hair done or not.. That Irish spit flute she could really for it and she is Catholic saw her make the cross across her chest on stage. Loved her so.much as a person and actress..
My most favorite movie couple ever.BTW,they were also the best of friends off camera, and you can tell.Such a deal!
Jim Graham
She is a true beauty. This was a pair. Nothing even close nowadays.
Maureen and John were good together in the movies they would have made a great married couple too
Maybe not. Both were dominant, fighting people who needed milder partners in everyday life. They were buddies and that is OK.
Thing is The Duke had a habit on cheating on all his wives 🤔🤦♂️😳
Maureen O'Hara was unbelievably beautiful. But I had a cousin by marriage met her . Miss O'Hara was beautiful, gracious and so down to earth!
Love these two in all the movies they were in. The Quiet Man will always be my favorite. .
Thanks for posting this interview! Brilliant chemistry between both fantastic actors!
two absolute legends and stars of old hollywood as we knew it.
