I was so happy to see this video! I just bought one of these plants a week ago. It's not blooming yet but when it does I'll never think of lipstick again 😅 Hilarious!!! This was such a great video.... I needed a laugh, thank you.... 😊
I just planted my "Lipstick" that I first saw in your channel. I'm wanting for her to get full. I'm not thinking at the flowers now. I'm watching to know what to do. Thank you for giving me a beautiful plant to take care.
Oh my god! I never knew it flowers on new growth. Thank you for that information 🙏 Now I finally know why mine has no flowers because I pruned the crap out of it in early summer to make it branch. Every other condition is met so I could not understand why no lil willies!!
Just bought my first lipstick plant today, half price, no blooms on her but I’m hoping. Guess she needs to be inside though rather than hanging outside on my porch
Very interesting, thanks. We have a few of these. We have a plant shelf that's in a difficult situation - 4m up, 4m away from a big picture window facing East (N Yorkshire) so pretty gloomy. Aeschynanthus japhrolepsis has been the best for trailing down the wall (now 2m long) for the hanging gardens of Babylon effect. Occasionally flowers, so handy to know the dead-heading trick. A different variety (lost the label 🤦♂) is more compact, so I might try to get this to flower more by trimming. Agree that they are really easy to propagate (I trapped and snapped a couple of stems in the cutlery drawer🤦♂ , stuck them in water, and rooted easily). I think professional growers put multiple plants in a pot. My cuttings seem to put out new stems from the original stem, rather than below ground, so the plant hasn't got any bigger at the base.
Loving your new videos. I knew you had a sense of humor, you're English after all. I don't even watch Planterina anymore. I prefer your channel now, you Iinform and entertain. Not sure what Amanda's even talking about anymore and she irritates my husband.
Love it. Thank God the lady didn't have one of these for sale, I'm out of room. lol The goldfish plant I'll have to check around for information. I think you mention in one of the video's that Everything Plants was that the channel you watched is this right?? Other suggestions that YOU watch? Love and Peace.
Yeah...I....sort of put mine outside my balcony door to get a little extra sun one day....and forgot about her. Will not make that mistake with my next one, I promise. 😭😄
if you're from Amsterdam , I suppose that could be classed as a lipstick . !!! I'm with your version , lol . ,as always another great video. thanks a million , . form a massive DONNI fan :)
Have you ever grown a goldfish plant? I’ve read that they’re commonly confused with lipstick plants because they look so similar, but their care is different because they’re an epiphyte. The plant was supposed to be a lipstick plant, but, surprise, it wasn’t. I’ve never grown one before. My stems keep dying. Do you have any idea why? Thanks😊
@@SheffieldMadePlantsok. It’s supposed to grown similar to the way Christmas and Easter cacti plants are grown, but I’m not having any luck doing it that way. Thanks.
@@roxannecox7861I’m growing mine under an LED light in front of a north facing window. It’s probably the light that’s making it grow though because it’s been blooming for months. If the light isn’t bright enough, it won’t bloom. The stems keep dying and I can’t figure out why.
I bought one of these becaise the tag said it was a shade plant. Once i got home and looked it up, i was shocked to find out that it was the opposite 😢 I only have north facing windows and i live in vancouver canada. Is my plant doomed?
hey, can i remove some leaves from the vine and pin that part to the soil in order for it to grow roots there? or would it be better to propagate a cutting? i bought just a rooted cutting of aeschynanthus, and i wonder how to make it fuller because it's just a two long vines😭
Have you ever considered growing a tradescentia on a lazy pole(the plastic ones) ? I saw another youtuber who grew it on a growing bag, and since then i have wondered if tradescantia + lazy pole would be a match made in heaven 🫣🤞🏻🤷🏻♀️

Love the videos...which plants do you agree needs to be top watered instead of bottom watered
@@kbm4409 I don’t think it matters
Which of your plants do you only top water?
@@kbm4409 I bottom water all of them unless they are not in a plastic pot or I’m filming
I'd love to see a video of where your plants live off of camera, as in, their everyday spots 😍
Got a tour coming out soon
Scandalous
I love the honesty and dry humor of your videos, the best and only way to learn plant care❤
Wow, thank you!
I literally just looked up "Sheffield Made Plants Lipstick Plant" and sure enough, this came up just in time - thank you!

I’ve got mine under two grow lights and no blooms . Maybe I’ll have to move her to a south facing window. I guess my grow lights aren’t strong enough.

Mr Sheffield what’s the best bulb for monsteras , Alocasia and ferns ? 15 watt or 30 watt ? Would 15 be too weak ? Love your videos btw ❤
15 would be medium light and 30 high light
@@SheffieldMadePlants so should I go for a 30 or would that be to high for monsteras ?

any idea how to make a hoya thrive, e. g. flower?
Tons of light!
And not a lot of water, it’s like a succulent. Mine is in the north windowsill, it flowers every couple of months!
Yes, I never thought the flowers looked like lipsticks, and I see what you are talking about.😅😅😅 maybe you should call it MR. PICKLES to be polite😊😊😊

Try to twist the tray off the pot. Like a bottle top, those pots always mess with me. If it doesn’t twist off, idk how to help you 😂
