- This weeks review is the 14yo North British from Signatory a single grain whisky

I’ve lost my sense of smell and taste and didn’t really realize this until I recorded this video… it’s now gone completely but I will we review this soon to get the full potential from it.
I hope you can enjoy at least some of the notes I was able to sense and some of the history to.

Single grain does seem to be better when it's older. Of course, that does make it a bit more expensive, but still (usually) less than a comparable malt. A couple of my favourites have been from Thompson Bros. - a North British 30 for Royal Mile Whiskies and an Invergordon 48. Other ones I've enjoyed have been from Port Dundas, Girvan and Cameronbridge.
A nice price, I'm joining you with the Easy Sipper an 11yr version off NB Grain I picked up for £34, & it is very easy indeed. If I was looking to blend it with an Islay, I might think Bruichladdich ( P.S Islay Barley) which would you choose hypothetically Kev. 😎🥃
Hope you start feeling better soon buddy and that it isn't the dreaded Covid. I have found a few single grains I really like but they have been a bit older on average (that Nikka Coffee Grain we had in Edinburgh was a good one as well even though it was younger). Like that you are venturing out into other types and hope this one has more flavor for you once you are healthy 🙏. Cheers!

Tbh not a big fan of grain whiskies, but there certainly will be whisky lovers that will enjoy it.

I must say if I was able to buy what I wanted for my birthday, this low aged grain wouldn't have been anywhere near. And I think 32 quid for that is ridiculously high.
