Great list! This year’s Micther’s 10yr drinks closer to the M20 than ever before. And C923 is a beast. Cheers 🥃
Love the channel David. Have you tried the JD 12 yet, if not it's a must try and absolutely sensational
I did my end of year blind and my top 10 were: 1. Russell’s 13, 2. Woodford Batch proof (this was a shocker), 3. Michters 10, 4. Makers Cellar Aged, 5. Old Forester Sib BP store pick, 6. Four Roses BS store pick OESQ, 7. Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend, 8. Peerless High Rye, 9. Woodford Historic Barrel Entry, 10. Russell’s store pick. Bottles that didn’t make this list were Stagg 22B, Weller Full Proof store pick, Weller 12, Elijah Craig 18, Knob Creek 18, Bardstown Disco 8, Elijah Craig A123, and Barrell 35.
Which KC18? last year's or this year's? This year's is a decent bit better. Good list!
@@brentworls8509 this years, I think it’s just a little too much oak for me. Only had a few pours out of it so maybe it’ll open up a little for me.
@@timbuma3693 ok, I have both, and this year is somewhat better, so I was wondering. Not calling it top ten at all, just wondering.
Woodford Batch Proof is great this year. Still working on my bottle
I never was able to grab a JD 12 and still haven’t found ECBP C923.
I get SO much friendly grief when I say I prefer Elijah Craig BP B523 to C923. But I fend them off. There is just something in the finish of C923 that doesn't turn me on, I don't like a bitter note I perceive. Not a hostile thing, "find a bottle you love". Again, it's friendly grief because I'm going against the grain, but my personal opinion is B523 got a lot of unfair reviews for its age statements and should deserve more love. These things are what makes bourbon so fun for the open minded.
Did you happen to try to Jack Daniels Twice Barreled Rye this year? It is by far one of my favorites and would certainly be high on my list. Have been lucky enough to at least get a sample of most of your list. All really solid and deserving bottles for sure.
BBC Discovery #11 should be in the conversation for top 10 of 2023 for sure.
Stagg 22a was technically a 2023 release, and it blows the doors off 23a, just saying. You should hunt a bottle down. It's the best Stagg batch since 17 imo. 22b was good, but 22a is special, imo. Cool list. I would love to try that 13th Colony DO, but good luck on that one. lol I also agree about the Michter's 10 yr. I'm not into lower proofs, which generally feel watery to me, but that's a fantastic and rich whiskey for it's proof.
I agree with most of the list. The 2023 Four Roses LE should be up there too.
13th Colony can’t even find it. Sucks!!
Old Forester 1920 should of at least been mentioned lol, it's a fantastic bottle and is easy to find
My top ten I have is: wait I dont have 10 different bottles😢
Great list. I love how a lot of the bourbons are from your patreons. Some great people in the bourbon community.
Those Old Forester Single Barrel Store picks are truly amazing!
I had the 13th DO in the queue in nada. The two faves I own are Michter’s 10 and EHTBP. Not sure which I like better. Got 2 bottles of the EHTBP. Happy about that
how do you think that 27y Obtanium sample would have faired in the lineup if you had more to compare?
I was very surprised that you didn’t have Bardstown Discovery 11 in here. That thing is available at ABC stores and is an incredible blend of mostly 13 year Russell’s, 10 year Beam, and 6 year Bardstown at 118 proof, it was one of the best I’ve had this year!
This. Disco 11 is amazing.
I love your channel - just discovered you.
My ultimate favorite discovery this year was Highland Park 10 Viking Scars. If you haven’t tried it, I’d love to have you review it. If you have tried it, I’d love to hear your opinion. Note! I drink affordable whisky, so haven’t done any high ends ... ever. Someday
Definitely a solid list. Many I’ll never ever see let alone try.
Great list David. Haven't had the pleasure of 13th Colony, but love the MM CA and PH DB. C923 and EHT BP are a push for me.
Greetings from Poland.
I purchased the entire case of OF single mine are burris SC store picks L3 131.0% and phenomenal over ice.
13 Colony is good stuff just hard to find outside of the south. and Nobody knows about Blanton's gold or black or SFTB. but if you love blantons the harder to find bottles are only better than OG Blantons.
Howdy n Merry Christmas! Maybe should have been titled Top 14? Thanks for the share!
Jack 12 is my bottle of the year. Great list
I agree. This is likely the best bottle I have ever owned. Spectacular.
@@WhiskeyMyersour top 5 for me
@@LeatherDaddy97 tried this year's special release? Excellent IMO. Lucky enough to pick up a couple of them and right around MSRP. I was a happy camper.
@@WhiskeyMyersour yeah i grabbed one for 80. Well worth it
Fabulous list of terrific whiskies for 2023! Any interest in reviewing some single malt scotch whisky?!! Happy Holidays! Cheers! 🙂
Well have 4 on your list and can't argue with them at all. I would say Four Gate Kelvin 60 and a couple picks of the Sherry finish would be on mine. Along with the KLuke Cab Finish. Also had many NashTucky that were all amazing this year. Saw you included the ECBP C923 which is great but gotta say Larceny B523 is probably the best i've had of those and makes my list too. Overall this year was fantastic for whiskey. Happy Holidays Everyone 🎄🎄🎅🎅🎁🎁🥃🥃
JD 12?
Pensive distillery in Newport Kentucky has a barrel proof bourbon (111 proof) that’s available in January that I was lucky enough to purchase before the release date. Delicious, it’s new to the bourbon trail but definitely recommend trying.
JD12?
Some great choices this year wish I could have found a JD 12 year, C923 or that double barrel 13th colony.
Funky musty is how I would describe typical makers products. Surprised to hear this about Michters. But I’ve never had that.
David want to try that Jack twice barreled? I was fortunate enough to come across a couple bottles. If you'd like a sample for you and Jaime to blind or review let me know! Cheers 🥃
How much does it cost?
13th Colony DO is impossible to get and if you do find it it’s 500$. Live near them here in GA and the mark up is absolutely absurd.
PARKER ☆☆☆☆☆
M10 batch - A2023
Nice list. Its funny Minnick didn't have the 13th colony in his top 100.
Dang C923 only at 7?!
Dude it’s such a banger. It’s one of my favorite pours of all time.
It was my #1 personally. Granted, I was only able to get a fraction of the bottles on this list lol
Great list! The Michter's this year oh man, it is the best for me by a mile but I haven't had 13th colony yet.
Tremendous tremendous tremendous tremendous tremendous tremendous tremendous
now do a top 10 bottle of real whisky, scotch
Black label elexir🤪
That’s a great list, unfortunately I only obtained one or two of those. 😎🥃
I can't believe you left off Eagle Trace batch 1911
Great list David. 13th Colony killed it this year for sure.
Can I get one of those 13th Colonies? :) Cheers, - Chris
Just got that EHBP a few days ago in a raffle. You got me excited to try it now
Good selection, David. Haven't had them all, but had a few, the EHTBP and the ECBP you picked are on my shelf, and I'm happy at that. As are the JDSBBP Rye and similar 13thC and OFSBBS. Tis was a good year for bourbon lovers. Except for the prices. I don't know that I have any that I'd add to the list. If the list was of those I reach for most in the past year, it'd be B7, KCSiBs, Booker's all versions, RR10 and RRSiBs those get close enough to the more expensive, harder to get keepsakes on the list. No Turkey or Beamers on the top 10 list. hah. Oh well. Cheers!
BTAC GTS 23!?!?!?
It probably would've made my list but I didn't have any of it. The last GTS I tried was a 2022.
I agree on Michter's 10. Amazing.
Seagrass wins it again for me
You’re gettin tatery 😂
Uncle Nearest 1884 by far
SFTB 2020 750ml
is ROOKIE YEAR
No Larceny Barrell Proof?!?
I have the eh Taylor barrel proof but I’m scared to open it. I’m not a fan of the regular Taylor but I like the higher proof stuff. I’m not sure if I should open it or trade it
If that’s not your style definitely hold it to trade. That bottle will definitely land you a decent trade that’ll make both parties happy.
I’d love to trade you something for it.. let me know. Man I’m definitely on the hunt for that M10! It is so damn good
@@caroncebryant7777 whatcha got that’s on the higher end? Estimate for my bottle is 300-400
I think you nailed it!
Great Top 10
WOOT!!!!
Thank you Dave for a great year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Please stop putting Stagg on all these lists. Yes we know it is a fantastic bottle but guess what…it’s incredibly overpriced and allocated everywhere.
Top 10 lists like this usually focus on the quality and enjoyment from the bottles, not so much their availability.
Plus I think half of the bottles listed are actually more difficult to find than Stagg (PH Double Barrelled, 13th Colony Double Oaked, Michters 10, MM Cellar Aged, EHT Barrel Proof).
Lol what bottle on this list wasn't heavily allocated. The EH Taylor barrel proof is way harder to find.
@@artmejia1173 FACTS
Is michters 10yr worth $300?
Not really. It is very good though
I would on this years batch
very old barton 86 proof and silas jones..cheers!
Great list... only missing a few...
