When LOD first revealed these they told me they would be about the same cost as the Destroyers and stronger. Now that I've seen them in a video I'm disappointed i held off on buying the destroyers now.
@@northridgenation I'm talking about how LOD told me these would be stronger and roughly the same price as the destroyers. Probably just gonna go with the destroyers.
They are 80lbs but if you add the skids at 20 more lbs then your at the same weight as the destroyers, so not sure why they are marketing them as a light weight option.
They are definitely a lot lighter than the Destroyer Side Bars. They are designed to be a lighter more urban friendly step. The Destroyers are designed to take a ton of abuse. So choose the slider depending on your intended use.
I put destroyers on my JL and for me they offered no advantage to get in and out of the vehicle. Basically because they are not stair cased down enough to be practical when I was getting out. I found myself now having to step over the whole board and to the ground where my leg was always rubbing the board getting out.. The other thing was mounting the little bolts to hold the board to the brackets were a 3 handed affair. PITA and heavy to mount for one person. The aluminum ones at least seem to have an easy mounting system to the brackets since they have the track set up to hold the bolts. The aluminum boards have add on step down steps that can be added and would be practical. I think the aluminum foot plate seems bigger as well where the cutouts are for your feet compared to the Destroyer. May be wrong though.
Same thing we were thinking, though it seems to be pretty stout. This JL gets driven a ton and used for light off-roading, we'll see how well they hold up over the long term.
Great Video! I just ordered these from your site earlier today. This video will be extremely helpful when I install the sliders in two weeks.
Post back up when you get them installed. Would love to hear from you.
Pretty neat light weight protection 👌
If I had saw this a year ago I would have gotten it, I will stick with my Destroyer series for now. :D
Thanks, I was looking for something like this for my elderly mom and my little ones.
They'll like them, nice side steps.
Awesome video as always!
OMG this thing is absolutely hilarious, we have a slider for the slider, and then we have a step for the step.
Very nice 👍

The Destroyers are still and very HD. If you are looking to run abusive trails, go with the Destroyers.

Exactly what type of LockTite are you using?
We're using Loctite Blue 248.

Neat idea. The plastic step insert is cheap looking.

@@northridgenation would love to see a quick follow up vid showing how they’ve held up over a year
@@northridgenation, so how are they doing, 2 years later??
