what a treasure and what a generation. Defeated Nazis, put a man on the moon, fought for civil rights, laughed, smoked and respected by history forever.

Don Rickles was my favorite comedian of all time. When I heard or saw that he would be on Carson that night, I would sure to stay up and watch. I love when the band played the matador music when he came out. .
I understand why some people don’t like Rickles’ humor. But it reminds me of my and my good friends roasting the hell out of each other. It’s all out of love.
I had the honor of witnessing Don in Vegas in 2001 or so. So funny. One guy from our group got called up on the stage with Don. I almost peed my pants from that stint. The guy was great too..deadpanned the whole match. So funny.
I remember watching Lou Brock stealing bases in old Busch Stadium when I was a kid. The place was electric when he got on base and would erupt when he would steal second. Great memories. Thank you Lou. God bless.

Rickles was in a rehearsal for a Bob Hope special once and came over to the Tonight Show in a sweatshirt and dungarees. After the applause died down, he told Carson, "I'm over there with Bob Hope. I'm helpin' the man move his furniture! He's got a show and there's a writer's strike on and Bob Hope's walkin' around the halls goin', "Help me, help me!' "
Johnny and Don used to run around with the Rat Pack back in the day so they had a long history together. Johnny was pretty much the only guy that could give Don as good as he got.
Last November I clicked on a random UA-cam suggestion video where Don was roasting the then governor Reagan and since then Don Rickles led me to Johnny Carson, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Buddy Hackett, Ed McMahon and many more. All this out of nowhere.

The chemistry between Rickles and Carson, one of the best ever.

Don Rickles passion for life and humor was off the rails. no one comes close. A legacy for all who aspire to live a rich and colorful life!!
Johnny Carson had the best late night TV show in American history, especially when Don Rickles was a guest.
CLASSIC TIMES 4 SURE!

I sure agree with that!
Rickles on Carson was the very definition of “Must-See TV.”
I feel like it was more a case of having no competition
Don Rickles is so fun to listen to but more fun when you actually watch him in action in these videos. A true comic legend.

Unfortunately, he broke the ground and there isn't anyone who even came remotely close after him.
