12 Silverado Hard Start and Stalling... Fuel Composition

Customer states 2012 Silverado 5.3L is hard to start or starts and dies. Fuel trim data is not making sense. See the effects of letting the original problem go for too long. Code P0101, P0172, P0174.
AI generated NPC Bot talks to himself for extended time while sitting in truck.

Excellent Video. That is some good troubleshooting and your logic is spot on.
I have the exact same problem on a 2012 Silverado with a 5.3L that I just bought and the fuel composition is stuck at 80 percent alcohol. I cleaned the Mass Air Flow sensor and filled it from empty with fresh fuel but the comp appears to be stuck at 80. I just have a simple reader that can't reset the comp. Getting a new scan tool is probably next on the list.

The algorithm is designed to relearn the fuel composition at every refueling so if you run the tank empty then fill it, the fuel composition should relearn by itself. Give that a try.

By the way, the Bora sport tune exhaust is basically the gm Performance exhaust back in the day.

@@danielb-c9100 I would probably try to find a different bed then. The bed on my 2500 is smashed in the corner with no tailgate so I might replace it if I can find a deal or may end up building a flatbed.
