The lack of codes or lack of multiple codes during the setting of the other codes is an prime symptom of driver module issue. In the age of bulletproof control electronics I wonder why these issues persist. I've seen ecm,s go through fires and still work.
Piles of these things have been failing too.
@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist I just checked an 2018 equinox tonight 1.5 litre acts like fuel pump may have separated from pressure hose in tank or the gauge is lying and it out of fuel. Of course customer no help with latter assumption
You should be able to see pump RPM or amperage on the scan tool to indicate whether the pump is running or not. That should help narrow down whether the problem is inside the tank or not. 9 out of 10 times it is a faulty fuel pump driver module, but it is definitely possible for something to be loose or pinched inside the fuel tank.
Chevrolet is a joke, we pay big money for these trucks and they suck and the manufacturer doesn't stand behind the product!
I have all 4 codes on a 2013 CTS 3.6. Thats how i bought the vehicle i do not know the history. The engine oil was extremely low, i did top it off. Engine does have a steady high pitch knocking sound. Do you think i should try the kit with all 4 solenoids or just buy another engine?
If the engine is making noise it’s not a good sign. If the timing chains are loose it can probably be repaired. Otherwise probably going to need an engine.

Check coolant levels, then your 12v battery . Then maybe you have a traction battery problem.. mine had a dead cell #98 .. fixed and running good for now!

Used a impact but I think it’s just not strong enough
You will need a stronger impact wrench or a holding tool to hold the balancer from turning. Preferably you should get a holding tool because it will aid when you tighten the bolt as well.

So what does this pump do actually? I’ve seen comments stating they just deleted it or tuned it out. If it’s not needed why did the engineers put it into the system?
The idea is to save a small amount of fuel by reducing the engine oil pressure when at light loads cruising. The oil pump has a high and low output mode. In low it still produces about 20psi-30psi so it’s fine. High output mode is used for heavy loads and hard acceleration and bumps up the oil pressure. I suspect this is because the bearing clearances in the engine are very tight and also thin oil. A loss of oil film under heavy loads would cause immediate metal to metal damage.
@ thanks for the reply. I also received this code last week and replaced the oil sending unit and valve lifting oil filter behind the sensor. Still received the same Pcode. Took it in and they told me my OIL PUMP FLOW CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE needed to be replaced. Gonna be $2100 job right here at the end of the year.
It is very satisfying to have a test module for confirmation - but how did you get a new module on national back order so fast?
The known good test module was is a new part that was given to me as a test device due to superseded part number. The new part took about a month to receive... usually takes anywhere from one to six months to receive back ordered parts unless it's a special circumstance, then magic wands get waved around and they show up next day. Either way I don't really ask. I just add it to the pile of "waiting for parts". Thanks for watching!

I have a cherokee 3.7 v6 petrol with an automatic transmission, I want to change it to a manual one, the question is whether the 2.7 diesel manual transmission will fit or the bolt spacing between the engine and the transmission and will the clutch kit fit the crankshaft from the 2.7 diesel to the 3.6 petrol?
I’m not sure, but I’m sure there is a lot more trouble involved with swapping the transmission. You’d be better off in most cases to just buy a vehicle that already has a manual transmission.

That usually means the Passlock sensor is faulty or the magnet is missing from the lock cylinder.

PK2 if I remember correctly... I don't even see vehicles from this era very often anymore. Requires 10 minute learn three times, or SPS 10 minute learn one time. If it still won't learn there is likely a problem with the system.
My Honda 2008 shudder and when I release accelerator it stops, also when accelerating and try to change gear it makes some noise

I think your repair approach is an overkill. I naively added about 4 litres of DEF into my Mazda CX-5 diesel car, and drove it for about 150m before it shutdown. I simply pushed it to a mechanic shop that evening and first thing in the morning by 8am, I was at the shop. They simply dropped and drain the fuel tank, filled it with a new 10 litre diesel. Use a vacuum to extract the contaminants in the fuel pipe, replace the fuel fitter, prime the injectors and added concentrated injector cleaner to the fuel tank and drove it for while. I then top it up with 35 litres of premium active diesel and it it running just fine..
That’s what the manufacturer requires.

What kind of de greaser did you use?? I use solvent or brake cleaner, but man your stuff had a sold stream coming out!! I need some of that!!
Zep brake cleaner out of a Wurth refillable can. They work pretty good, but the can doesn’t last more than two months before it leaks. We’ve switched to the Zep refillable cans and they’re pretty good too. You can buy refillable cans at most auto parts stores that can be charged with a tire inflator and whatever solvent you’d like. Those ones I like best, but slow to refill compared to the automated can refill systems.

How did they tow it to you, if it wouldn't stay running long enough to get it into neutral in order to get it on the tow bed???
Theoretically, with a strong enough winch, it doesn’t have to be in neutral at all. I don’t ask those questions. Car made it my stall, that’s all I know.
I have the p1631 code but i did the re-learn (just changed my pcm) and no security light anymore but still wont start
Repeat at least three times. If it comes back it will need to be diagnosed.
The vehicle was not starting before I changed the PCM, would that have anything to do with it?
@goodoldrinks8717 if you replaced the PCM, it will need to be SPS programmed for a immobilizer learn, etc. You will probably be better off putting the old PCM back in, but it might be too late now.

This just started happening on my 2017 hybrid too and I was quoted $2,900 to repair! Holy sh*t! Needless to say, I'm seeking a second opinion. When we pull the dip stick, the noise stops and you can hear air "woosh" out... but the repair place is saying it's 2 leaks they'll need to repair. If the sound stops when you pull the dipstick - is it safe to assume it's only a faulty PCV and the valve cover assembly needs to be replaced? I just can't swing a 3k repair right before Christmas and based on all the information online, it doesn't seem like a 3k repair at all!?!
I’d fix the PCV first absolutely. That seems a bit high, but the parts aren’t cheap and the labor is about $500 minimum.

A diagnosis at most shops will cost you between $100 and $200 per hour, 1 hour minimum.

Permanent codes in techline disconnect will tell you what has it in reduced power.

@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist it's techline DISconnect Tech2 > build vehicle>ecm>f4>f2 view dtcs. Those are the permanent codes They keep changing location in tldc but it's usually one of the tabs in dtc's...if there's a message there's a code. Sometimes faster to use a $10 scanner and read permanent codes.
The codes that have it in reduced power are stored under permanent codes in tech2win. Even though codes have been cleared you can go see what needs to run and pass to rid of the reduced power message😊

did the turbo on my sons cruze , that clamp is easier when you put it on the turbo before you install the turbo , I just snugged it up a bit to hold it in place, if I had the holders i would do his front cover, so I just covered the seam with PRC (acft tank sealant) to slow down the leak been a few years and no leaks..

What kind of balancer installer are you using? Maybe it is bottoming out on itself.
I bought it from Amazon! It's like Bolt with a wheel bearing and 2 washers.!! Is not like the one you show in your video !
The one I have can be bought or rented at most auto parts stores. You need the long reach adapter for these engines.

It fixes most of them yes. If it has a lot of miles or the fluid has been changed before then it will probably need a torque converter replacement.
@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist mine only has like 98 thousand miles on it. it is a 2019 gmc Sierra 1500 sle 5.3 4x4 and I felt it doing it on Thanksgiving day. I took it to the dealership to get the transmission fluid changed and got the truck back and still had the same issue

I currently have exhaust and intake over advance codes. I replaced both cvvts and cams and now I’m having intake over advance codes. I checked timing, ocvs, sensors, oil level and I can’t seem to find what’s wrong with it. If I could burn this car I would 😂

@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist found chain having severe play. I went ahead and replaced tensioner and chain and same code reappeared. I swapped working ocvs from a different elentra, hopefully that works

@ 😩 the bank can have this shit back before i do all that. Got the car at 52,000 miles in august ‘21 im not at 137,000 miles now anytime i pull off or going around a ramp or slight incline i just gas it heavy and it wont do it. Plus when it does do it the rpm needle still functions properly.

Keep driving at highway speeds until the message is gone or it will be too far clogged and will have to go to the shop. Ignore message at your own expense.
What if I did the tap test and they don’t turn off?
May have shorted wiring. Confirm with circuit test. It’s probably still a faulty relay though. I see them fail fairly often.
