  • Join us on our 2nd part of our fourth day exploring the Jurassic coastline in South England. We take a trip to Kimmeridge bay to seek out our own fossil finds in the hope of finding dinosaur bones and head off to The Etches Museum to admire the huge collection of fossils found at Kimmeridge in the cliffs.
The weather may be drab but that does not dampen our spirits as we enjoy the sights to see on this dramatic and magnificent coastline
We do however struggle to see Osmingtons white horse on the hill side and get worried driving through a live shooting range of the army

Superb editing guys, nice to hear Oliver having a crack at the rhyming! Pity about the lack of vegetarian options! £6 to drive into a bay? Bit of fossil pillaging! Yikes, watch out for jellyfish! Great fossil hunting technique! Lovely spot for a nap Leanne! Great shot of the white horse! 😂

We found an actual fossil on the beach in Skegness few years ago , that place looked very interesting I’d have spent hours trying to find them 😁

Eeerrrm, are you suggesting the specimens I found weren’t actual fossils 😂😂 seriously though, I could right get into that. Absolutely loved it 👌

Watch out for the cliffs! I had a small rock fall only a few metres away from me right near the the bunker things at the entrance

I’m here again this week and hoping to find something great! I found a perfect trigona bivalve last time! But yeah the toll just to get onto the beach is crazy, and only one person is allowed to crack open any nodules! Scientifically I get it but it’s not an SSI and not even amateurs or other professionals are allowed! Also the flies are insane!

It’s a shame the army were firing. When they’re not you can visit kimmeridge deserted village. It’s complete as it was in 1940 when residents were moved out so the army could practice house to house combat. Anyway I agree. I’d spend all day looking for that “T Rex” skull too….. not 😂

Ah we didn’t know that. Would have loved to visit that while we was there too.
We actually bought a t-Rex replica skull to remember our trip 😂😂

    7:06 very badly crushed ammonite
7:17 lichen (some kinds can permeate rock)
7:58 very crushed so probably not worth taking unless you don’t have a very large collection
