  • In this video I’m explaining the ignition timing issue I’m facing on my 1967 Vespa VBB2T equipped with an LML engine block and a SIP Performance ignition kit that should be compatible with that engine.

I have the same problem with a Pinasco ignition kit, it's out by miles and not even Pinasco can help or advise me on the problem. What did you do to rectify your timing problem in the end?

Hi! I haven’t solved the problem yet but upon speaking with a few experts they told me that the cheapest and quickest solution would be to machine into in the magnetic flywheel the groove for the woodruff key in the right position. Being located in the inner side of the flywheel it should not affect the balance that much. I’ll try this option when I’ve some time. Hopefully I’ll be able to enjoy the Vespa this summer!

@@sebzani Hi! I think I might I have fixed the problem I have. I have a 51cm stroke that is the same as a 125 Primavera although it's a 130cc DR kit, it works fine at 17 TDC but apparently will work at 17 or 19 degrees TDC. Due to me miss reading he instructions I had the time set way out. So if your conrod is a 51cm it should be okay set at 17 or 19 degrees TDC. I hope that helps.
