Not good enough , he didn't get the job. I watched his audition, he missed some fills. I was as good ,if not better, as this guitar player when i was 16.
@@Easun36 Just putting it out there. I don't know a single person who genuinely enjoys the Slayer albums with Paul on them. Of course not entirely his fault, but the drumming is nothing to write home about.
@@Easun36 I think he's great in Forbidden, and his short time with Exodus. I agree that he doesn't fit for Slayer. Really I don't think anyone other than Lombardo was made for Slayer.
i like a lot of second wave black metal bands too, but this style of early destruction and early kreator and early sodom had the most charm. absu was very influental in death metal too, not only black metal. perfect mix in my opinion, musically and lirically.
funny how this is now old school black metal. when they came out they were labeled one of the frontrunners of retro thrash... alongside CIANIDE, DARKTHRONE via Panzerfaust, Angelcorpse, Bewitched and some.
Fenriz & Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone are genius as well of many others in Norway. Dissection of Sweden is near and dear to my heart. Actually found Absu through the Norwegian metal sites long ago. Absu had played some shows there i think.
