its a dialogue that you can get in the Lonesome Road DLC if you have a female courier that is sided with the Legion, and the reason ED-E looks like that is because in the dlc you get an eyebot companion that shares the same memories with the normal ED-E but looks different

Female Courier Legion is probably one of the more interesting narratives for a F:NV run. Woman joins a powerful faction of men who dominate half the territory. They tell her she's not good enough to be part of them but she can try anyways. She succeeds beyond all expectations and has a coin minted in her honor by the Emperor.

My favorite evil playthrough of any video game was as a female Legion courier who, in my head canon, was named an "honorary male" by Caesar and served in the Frumentarii as the Legion's only/best female undercover spy/assassin. She was also my only unarmed playthrough, so I killed like 1,000+ enemies with Love and Hate

No, he's got a point. Every member of the Legion with few exceptions, among them Caeser, was but a tribal who's introduction to the outside world was having their tribe slaughtered and themselves traumatized into service.
They tolerate the violence and savagery Caeser encourages because they believe its how the world works and are too afraid to stray from it.
If Caeser changed his mind, it would open them up to alternate world views outside of the oke Caeser established, which could lead to the Legion's collapse as they see his exploitation and manipulation.
Same goes if they saw direct and irrefutable proof of Caeser's knowledge being wrong.

@@jager2749 it's basically the same but they had women soldiers. Alexandria was a Legion Bounty Hunter and medic. She would have been a follower. Even though it's not shown in New Vegas a lot of the Legion occupied towns (and how not everyone is enslaved) is a Van Buren bit that made it into New Vegas.

I love Raul, but as someone who enjoys evil legion runs it would be nice to have a bit of variety with companion choice.

I like to think the only reasonable/logical way for a female courier to join the Legion, is if the Courier herself has a vendetta against the NCR, and so she sabotages and weakens the NCR in the region by herself, occasionally helping the Legion and eventually getting Caesar's attention.

I once did a female independent run when I used the legion to destabilize the NCR, killed ceasar during Et Tumor, Brute? and continued through Yes Man Route after completing Arizona Killer, wich are still one of my favourites.

I think it's interesting how none of the higher ranking Legion members never say anything about the Courier being a woman.
I've seen people say that if the Courier was a woman and joined the Legion she'd be sold as a slave but I don't think that's accurate. In the Legion occupied towns normal civilians live day to day life like they did before their towns were made Legion. That being said the lady Courier would most likely just be a subject of Caesar like the trader at the Fort and the civilians at Flagstaff.

Maybe im wrong, but i feel like the time of having sexist factions in video games is over. I could never imagine that type of storytelling in a new bethasda game, which is incredibly safe, same with ubisoft. It's like some people find the presence of sexism even existing in a story to be not acceptable, at least in a fiction story meant for entertainment.
Even if we comically made a sexist faction just to dunk on them it would be too much.

I like the interpretation that the female legion courier is a big pick me..however, that being said, I think it would also be interesting if she were a more cleopatra like character. On the outside you’d think she’s crazy joining considering how they treat her gender when in reality she’s playing 5d chess with everyone there. She tolerates the legions rules and insults because as long as they don’t apply to her, they are useful.

id imagine that if a female courier sided with the legion they would definetly have to reconsider their stance on women, hell they base their society off of roman culture well the romans based their pantheon off the greek pantheon and mythos, and in their mythos they do have amazons i believe so id imagine the romans have the same thing or something similar in their mythology, would be interesting if caesar decided to allow the courier to essentially build an all female division based off the amazons in mythology

Honestly every time I decide to be a legionary I just have to be a woman. It’s funny imagining the entire legion banking on the success of someone they would consider to be inferior. And if you’re siding with the most extreme faction, it makes sense to have the most controversial position.

THIS IS THE TRVE EQVALITY
The only time I ever did a Legion playthrough I used a female courier. I wanted to get everything out of the game, and the Legion was the last ending I had to see. I remembered some lines about the NCR invading Mexico, so I roleplayed as a woman from occupied NCR territory sided with Caesar in an attempt to hurt the NCR. The dialogue options are generally vague enough to allow for that, and the evil actions you have to do are generally either optional, or could potentially be an "ends justify the means" type of thing.

You know I never thought there would be a legit reason outside of achievement hunting to do a Legion playthrough. But literally doing it as a female character out of spite? It just makes too much sense now.

And the Legion are more like the Huns than Ancient Rome (or even Sparta). The Huns went around conquering, enslaving, and slaughtering, but also absorbed many defeated enemies into their ranks and adopted their tactics. It's why they just kept getting more and more dangerous as they expanded.
@@laisphinto6372 IIRC, Caesar himself acknowledges that, as things stand, his legion ironically resembles the Carthaginians rather than their Roman archnemesis. New Vegas is intended to be his Rome, where he intends to mould and then solidify his civilization into its final form.
