    Stick with the Honda School and training. Believe me it really pays to attend every Honda Class your able to complete. I spent 2 1/2 years attending every Honda class and earned 2 Honda Master Certifications. My earnings just about doubled in that amount of time. I applied at a local technical school and hired as an assistant instructor. While there the school payed for my additional college classes and earned a 2 year college degree. In 2012 I was able to retire as I turned 62. I began automotive back in 1977 and worked hard and many times I felt like just giving up, but I stuck with it!!! Don't give up!!!

      @@2zzlow The most I've ever done in express was 11 hours. Of course there are going to be some good and bad days where you don't make much, but I just like the atmosphere of it. There's always a car with different services coming in and that's the reason why I like it

      I do my best to shoot for quality work because I don’t want the customer to come back and complain. There’s a few short cuts we take, some are good, bad and risky but if you know what you are doing then you can be top producing tech every month. I won’t lie I know a few short cuts

    I have a back up lamp switch recall on one of STI and I’ve been getting the letters since last year but I really do t want to take it in because when I took it in for the steering rack and I had just got my big turbo setup with a brand new long block and I told them don’t drive the car longer than it needs to be tested and I noticed my trip meter was at 8 miles and on my dash cam I can see the guy as is it fast? Luckily I had a break in map installed but fast forward to now I didn’t want some kid to hit 40 psi in my car and wreck it if he’s not used to the power so that’s why I haven’t gone in for the recall. I just came across your channel and it’s interesting.

      As a Subaru tech with the back up lamp switch assuming your intercooler is still on the top mounted. It has to be removed to also remove the dog bone to tilt the transmission down enough to get the switch.

    • @boostedfc1.
      @boostedfc1. 6 місяців тому

      What I do is take it around the block go full boost as long as I see peak boost that’s good enough for my book. But for your steering rack that’s some what odd to take 8 miles unless they wanted to make sure everything was straight

      @E85_STI 6 місяців тому

      @@boostedfc1. shoot my car just sits in the garage so my back up lamp is fine so I haven’t gone back for the recall but the car pulls so dang hard on e85 if those techs aren’t used to power they could wreck my car.

    I can appreciate your enthusiasm and positive outlook but I hope you move on from the dealership over the next couple of years, there are far better mechanic jobs out there, away from the automotive side. Hourly pay, far better benefits, pensions, less stress. Look into it. Dealerships are called the meat-grinder for a reason.

      @@2zzlow You'll learn that your paycheck amount isn't everything, far from it actually. Being a tech does not give you sick leave, holiday pay or a pension. Being a mechanic is fine, I still do it after 23 years, except I moved onto fleet work and then a factory job working on equipment. It's far less stressful in every way, much better benefits, more PTO, more holidays, sick pay, and a guaranteed pension. Automotive shops treat you like a slave and your boss doesn't care about quality, only quantity. Trust me.

    Just wait until you start to make only 20 or less hours a week when its very slow. Or when some service advisors start feeding their "favorite mechanics", instear of you getting decent hours. Flate rate is the bigegst rip off against mechanics. Hour wages is the way to go with union membership to protect you. Flat rate is a dead end system which is why many techs leave the trade and do something else. Also, keep attention when honda start lowering warranty hours pay just to save more money at your expense.... Mechanics unions, independent unions from Management not your sell off unions are a must. This exploitative system was created by Ford based on the assembly line in a factory setting, in which the capitalists decided how long it should take to complete a certian job. I've known master techs who make minimum wage than people working in MacDonald's. This is when you calculate the hours flagged in a very slow day with no guaranteed hours. Even the biggest union, the auto union workers will never accept such conditions.

      @@BESTNOODLEREVIEWS I mean I've been working as a tech for about 6 years and I've been hopping from one dealership to another so I've been there for a couple months. My last job I've been there for 3 years. It depends on the volume. How many cars come in, what services they come in for and what not.
