I didn’t try to replicate Paul’s tone as I knew that it wouldn’t really cut through the mix of a bass cover. So I went for this disgusting tone instead (except for that little bridge bass solo). I love this song and I guess you can even kind of see that in the video.
Oh F Yes! I’d moved off Slipknot but this is a welcome and massive blast from the past. I will be giving this a go tomorrow. As always many thanks. This is brilliant!!
I think I recorded this in B-E-F#-B-E, but I completely ignored that low E string. So when you look at it like that, it is really just standard tuning at first, and then 3 strings that are in the C# standard tuning
Can someone explain how to practice picking at such low tunes like this? Even sometimes Drop D if I am having a rough patch. When I pick I pick (especially up) it smacks the fret board and makes this loud ass CLANK, and it aint a good sounding clank. So if anybody has some practice tips that would be awesome
You might wanna go to guitar center and have them adjust your truss rod so your action is better, making less rattling or clank sounds. Or you aren't using the right string guard for whatever tuning you're playing. Either way, it's best to visit a guitar center so they can fix it👍👍
@@nickjohnson7090invest in a Digitech drop tune pedal, you can pitch shift a bass in E standard all the way down to A standard with it, they're so worth it
Nice tone , good playing . Nothing to complain about. How would you set the eq if you went closer to pauls bass Tone? Or how did you set the eq in general for that Song?
Honestly, I don't remember anymore. For the distortion tone, it must've been quite a lot of bass and treble. I've never tried to replicate Paul's tone so I wouldn't know. But I'm sure that google can help with that :)
Thanks! Yeah I did actually. Quickly recorded it like that and then tuned down again, praying that my bass would be fine afterwards. That can't be good for the neck
@@LeoBassCovers2 haha yep it for sure cant ! ill propably learn the bass with the low B (5 string ) and tune the other normally. ill just skip a string ! thx for other anyways

Great work on this cover

I’d recommend using the isolated bass track of the song for Duality if you decide that one. :)

Hey Leo! What bass effect are you using?
Hey! I didn't use any effects other than subtle distortion for this tone :)
@@LeoBassCovers2 Thank you Leo! You rock dude!
great cover as always! Question: Did u actually uptune the E string to a F#?

@@LeoBassCovers2 shit lol I watched this and tuned my 5 string the same way and left it for 3 days
How do you tune? Do you tune up on some strings and lower on others?
You drop down to standard C# which is C#-F#-B-E. Then you just drop the low C# to a B which is why this tuning is called drop B :)
@@LeoBassCovers2 thank you for all the help you give 🙏
what kind of strings do you use??
Warwick Black Label strings. 045 - 065 - 085 - 105 - 135
That sounds Thick!!
Thank you!
