Now I Hate HARRY POTTER
Alex: "Snape is so clutch, comes in at all the right moments"
Everyone else: 👀
Dead 💀

hahahahaha
us: bombastic side eye
Literally 😮
“Snape is so clutch, comes in at all the right moments”
Famous last words
🤣
Well... He came in clutch for Malfoy didn't he. 😆
I mean technically he wasn't wrong
Right? Literally right before! 😂
He actually did though... if you know, you know
Fun fact: As a potion's master Snape always wrote down the instructions on the blackboard instead of using a standard textbook as Slughorn does. That implies that Snape is actually teaching his students the absolute best methods to brew potions, and that could be the reason Hermione starts to struggle at that class in 6th year, because Slughorn just tells them to follow the instructions in the book.
I hadn’t thought of that but it makes a lot of sense. Snape really excelled at potions
He expected just directions to work for 11 year olds so he doesn't tell them anything else
Nah, this is a "building on movie" thing. In the story, they have the textbook for potions classes since first year.
Does he ever write anything down though? Since Harry didn't recognize his handwriting in the book. Or is that just another plothole?
@@spangelicious837Since he used his wand to write on the blackboard it's conceivable that the writing differed from his quill handwriting during his teenage years.
If it hurts seeing this so many years after these movies have been out, imagine how it was reading it in the books first. I legit yelled NO and started crying...omg it was nuts dude.
Same! I couldn't continue reading for a while because I was sobbing so hard and my eyes were full of tears. I could not imagine the magical world without Dumbledore and was completely in shock.
@@KarenLovesColours It was my brother's book and I remember he turned to me with a sad look in his eye (I had been in our living room) and was like, "you just got to that page, huh?" 🥺
I remember I was a kid and had gone to the midnight launch of the book so it was like a day after it came out (I was a ridiculous reader) and i remember fucking throwing this massive book across my room at like 2am lol
@@felixhenson9926 The midnight launch was fun. I drove from Johannesburg to Pretoria to get my copy of the book.
I was reading this part at like 2am and I couldn't stop reading till morning cause I didn't want to believe it happened for real.. it was so many years ago but I still remember tears in my eyes and that crazy heartbeat like it was yesterday
Fun Note: When Harry is under the influence of the luck potion, that is Daniel Radcliffe's personality you are seeing. According to the others, he wasn't acting but was just being himself. At all other times, he is acting when playing Harry.
Fun note : according to Daniel Radcliffe, he was totally drunk while filming the scene.
@@CreepyOni LOL. I hadn't heard that before. It makes sense, though.
@@oougahersharr During the filming of HBP, Daniel Radcliffe was very alcoholic and drank heavily on set. He was drunk for most of the movie (it can be seen on a lot of scenes, like in the library when he talks about being the Chosen One with Hermione, or the quidditch players selection). Buuuut, he quit drinking in 2011.
For the Felix Felicis scene, he was just content to be himself without acting while being drunk.
@@CreepyOni now that, is the best thing i have ever read in my life🤣
@@CreepyOni😂😂
Ron knows more than Harry because he lives in the magical world, and Hermione’s parents are cool with her being a witch. Harry’s always in the dark because he has no connection to that world during the summer.
Like, one doesn't even have to read the books to infer these things.. the film telegraphs with obvious subtext and outright exposition.. dude just isn't paying attention, or a few days between viewings is too long to keep track of such a deep rich tapestry like Harry Potter..
@@StayFractalesqueBut the films also make it like Hermione is from a wizarding family at first. Remember when they meet “I’ve only tried a few spells but they’ve all worked for me” except she’d have been expelled for that
@@Catherine.Dorian. You're allowed to do magic with parents, under age aren't you? And a few basic grade 1 spells she's about to do in a month anyway the ministry probably didn't think it was of any serious consequence with her parents there. Muggle or not. The magic books go into detail of how you're supposed to pronounce, and flick the wand to do it correctly, and those grade 1 low level spells don't have any nasty accidental possibilities.
@@Cramblit You cannot perform magic outside Hogwarts until you are of age. There are work arounds such as in a home with magical parents because they cannot tell who did the spell. This is because they want the children to learn in a controlled environment where help is on hand if mistakes are made, also to protect the statute of secrecy. Yes her parents now know about the magical world, but what if she is practicing in her backyard, or a muggle sees her through the window?
@Stay Fractalesque yeah he's just always high and clueless but he is fun to watch
In the book, Snape's mother's maiden name was Prince. And yes, Snape is a half blood. So he is the half blood Prince.
Yes. unfortunately the movie forgot this quite important detail with having the name "half blood prince". I've always thought that he people who haven't read the books must feel pretty confused.
@@attelaitinen9838 That happened to me actually. When the movie premiered I still hadn't read the books. This movie left me so confused that I felt the need of start reading them to get all that information
@@attelaitinen9838 Yeah. That was probably the dumbest thing done in the entire franchise. How can you have a film called “The Half Blood Prince” and not mention what that even means? Really stupid, not to mention confusing, to those who did not read the book.
@@attelaitinen9838 I just assumed he is a half blood and the price part is just what he called himself 😂 all of the older guys have nicknames and I just thought it's his given by himself
I think the reason why they didn't tell this is because it would ruin the ending. Most people wouldn't be surprised if inthe middle you throw some info like this. And it wouldn't have workedin the end because you know... It was already revealed. So there was really no point.
Answers to a few things you were confused about:
- Yes, that's Fred & George's store, and one fun fact from the books is that, IIRC, they opened up that shop with Harry's Triwizard Tournament winnings that he gave them.
- Dumbledore's hand isn't dirty towards the end of the movie. His hand was black the entire year, due to a *thrilling tale* as he points out in the beginning.
- As far as we know so far, Snape keeps trying to help Draco due to the Unbreakable Curse Bellatrix casts in the beginning, as Snape promises Draco's mom.
- That big ass bird in the end was Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix that came into the Chamber of Secrets to help Harry.
Wow, that big ass bird, I worded it the exact same way in my comment somewhere above as well. Nearly word for word 😭😂😂
Lmao.. professional react Andy btw
All of which Alex would know if he just stopped bloody talking and listened for five minutes!!!!!🤦🏻♀️🤣
The big ass bird also helped Dumbledore escape with style in the last movie
As a side note Snape had to kill Dumbledore because in order to use the killing curse you have to really mean it. Clearly Draco didn't want to and it wouldn't have killed Dumbledore so Snape had to step in and kill Dumbledore otherwise Snape would die due to him not fulfilling the promise to the unbreakable vow.
47:55 Let’s never forget, that’s Dumbledore at his weakest. He had just finished drinking that horrendous potion that causes crippling physical, mental and emotional pain, that curse had been on his hand for almost a year, he is as close to death as any person can possibly be, and he is still able to do something like that. Dumbledore is no joke.
serves him right.
That's why he is the only person that Voldemort fears, he's extremely intelligent and extremely powerful and the potion didn't weaken him it forced him to relive his most traumatizing memories, which is why he was yelling kill me when he was drinking the potion is because he was asking Grindelwald to kill him instead of his sister because his sister died at a young age during a duel between the two
I love watching Snape in the background of the hospital scene when Lavender and Hermione are arguing. It cracks me up every time! He definitely does not want to be there listening to high school drama 😂
Hi. So I've watched the series for the past 2 days ago for the first time and as you can guess fell in love with it and specially Snape (oddly!) .anyway I think the series left me in the dark and I should read the books for more details. One would be the age difference between Snape and Voldermort like here Alex thought that Tom Riddle grew closer to Snape as he was a student but if Snape is as the same age as Harry's parents then he must be much younger than Voldermort right?
Ooh and what you mention about the hospital scene ....I was thinking how awkward it is that a bunch of grown up professors are witnessing a teenage drama between 2 girls over a boy😅like how they were all paying attention about what was happening between those kids😂hilarious
@@Owillowwally Voldemort is indeed much older than Snape. That was just Alex getting confused for a minute. Slughorn was Voldemort's teacher, not Snape
@@j0hn00 thank you so much
@@j0hn00I think he was Snape's because he 'collected' Lily. Maybe Snape took the job when Slughorn retired?
Tom Felton really did an amazing job in this movie. in the books it was even sadder actually, dracos task to assassinate Dumbledore was just a punishment for Lucius failing to get him the prophecy. Voldemort never expected him to succeed and it was torture for Draco and his mother thinking the whole year, that draco would die.
OMG that explain hus anger in the train towards Harry.
@@vivitaquerida in the train he was angry because his father was arrested in the department of mystery because of harry and the order
@@vivitaqueridaI’m sure that was part of by it!
My husband's actually listening to the audiobook version of Tom's autobiography (which he narrates!), and the stories that he tells from his experiences onset are absolutely fantastic. He really did thrive in this film as an actor, in that we got to see Draco beyond the surface level of how he wants others to see him.
@@vivitaquerida which is ironic bcuz Harry had been having to deal with the fact that Voldemort had been wanting to kill Harry since he was baby. So yea his whole life but Malfoy had to deal and worry about it for a year so if you’re saying his anger towards Potter in this moment is valid lmfao it’s definitely not 😂😂😂 it’s his parents or more so his father with getting himself and and his family involved with the wrong person/wizard. None of his anger towards Harry is actually valid.
That werewolf is the one that bit Lupin when he was a boy
Draco was chosen to kill Dumbledore as a punishment for Lucius, after he failed to get the prophecy and got himself locked up in Azkaban: Voldemort told Draco he and his family would be killed if he failed, knowing that he probably would
I was scanning to see if someone posted this. Thank you.
As the movie reveals, the book Harry had was Snapes from when he was a student and Snape created several spells as a student at Hogwarts, (7 in total which is impressive because even inventing ONE spell is extremely difficult). The curse Harry used, Sectumsempra was one of them, and Snape is the only person who knew how to counter/heal the curse. That's why Snape showing up to heal Draco was fortunate, else Draco would most certainly have died.
Also, a bit of back story, Snape adopted the monicker The Half-Blood Prince because his father (who was abusive and whom he hated) was a muggle (non-magic person) and his mother was a witch, so he was a "half-blood". A fun fact, in the scene where Ron is in the infirmary and Dumbledore tells Professor Slughorn that he should be proud for teaching Harry, you can see Snape and Harry "trade" looks. The reason being is because Snape was the one who told the student's (including Harry) that a Bezoar can save the life of someone who's been poisoned in one of the earlier movies.
Very true, I hope Alex reads these. For his betterment of knowledge regarding Harry Potter.
And yeah, harry knew to give the bezoar to Ron, from reading the half blood prince's book as well. Obviously Snape had written it there.
Perfect comment, the only thing i would add is that "prince" is not because of royalty, is not like princess, it is actually his mothers family name. He would be "severus prince", but as they adopt the dad's name most the time, he is "severus snape"
Snape also invented the Levicorpus spell we saw James use on him in the memory last year. That means someone had to have seen Snape use it on someone first.
made me look in to the reaction to see that "trade" looks,,, never heard of that, thanks good info
Pretty sure the Bezoar was the very first potion class. Spoiler from book below (in case people wanna read it for the first time)
.
.
.
.
.
.
Harry also presented a Bezoar in one of Slughorn's class when they were suppose to identify the poison and brew an antidote , as a test, which Harry couldn't do because all he had done in the Potions class was follow instructions from the HBP.
The bird was Fawkes. Phoenixes only leave when their owners die. That proves Dumbledore is dead.
Also, I know it’s cliché and campy, but the scene where everyone raises their wand shreds me every time.
Great reaction Alex!
And some people still seem to think credence is alive
@@Angelo-uw9eoat this point I start to consider those movies not to be canon anymore. They are just such a big mess. I'm partially glad we probably won't get another one.

Yeah it also used to make me emotional because i thought it was purely as a tribute for Dumbledore but they are just removing the dark mark. It can be both tho but still.
Fun Fact: The Half Blood Prince takes place in 1996, but I guess the writers/directors forgot that because at the beginning of the movie the death eaters destroy the Millennium Bridge in London which only began construction in 1996 and was not open to the public until 2000 (hence the name Millennium).
Why do so many people always assume that if it has a name that we also use, the movie takes place in OUR Earth.. This is the Wizarding World and though similar in a number of ways, it is NOT our Universe.. heheheheh :)
@@khandragon7950you're totally wrong. The bridge that was destroyed was in the Muggle world. The Death Eaters had started attacking Muggles as well.
@@hippiemama52 I'm totally wrong eh? .. YOU obviously don't have a clue and can't read correctly, since you not only ignore what i said, but prove my point again.. I pointed out that even if a story uses a name of something from OUR world, it does not necessitate that the story takes place in OUR world, but you did not catch that in the first sentence of my post.. Then you go and prove my point yet again by using the term "Muggle World" in your reply, which as last I was informed, is NOT a part of the world of Our Reality (as in the planet you are currently standing/sitting on).. if you actually believe that the wizarding world exists in Our Reality, then we need to fit you for a very long sleeved jacket.. ;) It's a nice dream, however that is all it is, a dream from the mind of the author.. Next time, take a breath, count to ten, and then re-read the item that has you all in a bunch, before you go spouting off to the writer please.. :P
The books do. Not the movies. The Daily Prophet in the first movie about the Gringots break in has the date of 2001. All the other movies followed this dating. Meaning this movie takes place in 2006-2007.
@@hippiemama52yes. But the movies don’t take place in the same time period as the books. The first movie on the news papers the date is 2001 when talking about the gringots break out. The date on the daily prophet for the flying car in chamber is 2002. The date for Sirius breaking out is 2003. The movies take place in the 2000s.
Malfoy failed to complete the task Voldemort asked of him (kill Dumbledore), so Snape found himself bound by the perpetual vow he made to Narcissa (Draco's mother), if Snape hesitated to do so, he would break his vow and die.

Snape wasn't at Hogwarts with Tom Riddle. Riddle went to Hogwarts in the 1940s, Snape in the 1970s. Snape, in this movie, is supposed to be 36 years old. Most people don't realize how young he was because they cast Alan Rickman, who is incredible, don't get me wrong! But yeah, Snape, Sirius, Lupin, Harry's parents...they were all very young. In the books it’s explained Ron never thought there was anything wrong with Hermione, in fact it was the opposite, he never thought he was good enough for her
Draco is such a complex character, he’s a perfect example of a kid who’s parents expect him to do something, but that just isn’t him👍🏽
*whose
Yeah but he’s not a good person at all. Even how he interacts with his friends it’s not good. He’s not really complex he’s just soft and didn’t have it in him
Similar to , my parents want me as a grade 1 st but im not😅🤣
I appreciate the complexity of Draco's character so much, because he's in such a gray area; in this book/film in particular it breaks the assumptions that there's good and bad, and clear-cut sides that these characters are on. Draco is a product of his upbringing; spoiled rotten, growing up always being told that he's so much more superior than everyone else due to blood status and social status, having that expectation to uphold his family name as being the best of the best. He's incredibly smart and a naturally talented wizard, and he gets praise for that (part of why he bullies Hermione in particular so much is because not only is she Muggleborn and therefore "inferior", but she's top of her class and even more successful in school than *him...* big oof to his pride and his desire to impress his parents, I'm sure). As is the nature of most school bullies, his behavior towards other students is borne from his own insecurity and the fact that his family seemingly values power, success, and status more than him as a person. Draco isn't evil, he's a victim of his circumstances, scared and powerless to escape. What's great about his character, too, is that at the end of the day, being a victim still doesn't automatically make him a good person. He's still very much defined by his choices. It's a very realistic take on the trope of school-bully-turned-pity-party.
@@islaythejabberwokky Absolutely and you can feel this conflict when he tells dumbledore that if he doesn’t kill him, then Voldemort when kill ‘me’👍🏽

There was no set future and more than one candidate. And I don't just mean Mr Glow Up. The only way Harry was chosen was by V-man himself. Set his fate in stone that day. Wow. So his real agency won't be revealed?
@@jhedjoardumago7691 Yep
Okay, Alex, now some key points for you from the comics/story book.
There is a reason why Defense against the dark arts teachers are always leaving by the end of the year due to some or other things happening or some mischief etc.
In the book, there were several other memories that Dumbledore shared with Harry regarding Voldemort. And one of them was, when Voldemort came looking for a job at Hogwarts. He wanted the Defense against the dark arts post at Hogwarts. Unfortunately for him, he got rejected by Dumbledore for the position. Voldemort took out his wand at that time, and he hexed the position. He put a curse out on the subject, and since that day, Professors who opted to teach Defense against the dark arts leave every school year. 😮😢
Comics? Lol. This was directly from the books. JKR didn't write any comics
@@kathleenclark815 LOL Thank you for telling him that! Because I was going to and I was going to do it in a rude Slytherin sort of way! You saved his life. Although he knows the information, any HP fan knows JK didn't write no damn comics. WTF is he getting his information from?! #AvadaKedavra 🐍

you are not alone feeling bad for Draco. Most of us do too. You can tell he wanted to be good but his environment he grew up in and the fact that no one helped him throughout his years at hogwarts consumed him.
you forgot to add this to the harry potter playlist, I was so confused when it skipped from order of the phoenix all the way to DH pt.1
I cried every time I read the book or watch this movie. RIP Dumbledore
You're an asshat why you gotta post before he's done
I must have been strange, because I always expected him to die. What sucked was not knowing why for two full years when the books were releasing.
@@robertgronewold3326 WORD. It's not the journey, it's the ending on this one. Weird.
I don’t. I hate Dumbledore, lol.
@@dawnmayflower4422 You can hate dumbledore, as he is very manipulative, but it's still sad to see harry losing someone he looks up to, hogwarts losing a powerful headmaster, and the sad/hurt you see everyone feeling. In the books you get hagrids reaction to dumbledores death too and it's heartbreaking
Ah, you've noticed that Snape is a complex character...
There is none more complex in the books, and none better portrayed in the films.
Professor Dumbledore's death was one of the most traumatic for Harry to witness. Right alongside his parents' murder at the hands of Voldemort when he was a year-old toddler, Cedric at the hands of Wormtail during the last task of the Triwizard Tournament in that graveyard, and Sirius dying at the demented hands of his psychotic cousin Bellatrix Lestrange before he disappeared into the Veil in the Ministry Of Magic.
I definitely felt like Hermione when Lavender was cuddled up to Ron. (When she said "Excuse me, I have to go and vomit.")
agreed, though I would amend the statement about Sirius, as Bellatrix hit him with "Avada Kedavra" right before he fell into the Veil
Bellatrix killed Sirius, his body just happened to fall through the veil
Thanks for the friendly correction. I've seen other people go full Karen if someone got even the smallest detail wrong.
@@kharma7755 I'll go full Karen and say that the killing curse was a movie thing. In books he's hit by a stunner and falls into the Veil.
Yes the books DEFINITELY go into deeper detail on background and everything else.
The bird at the end was Fawkes (Dumbledore's phoenix first seen in Chamber of Secrets) leaving Hogwarts.

Aside from it being so difficult only true Potion Master could do it and even them having a hard time not killing themselves trying, there are multiple more reasons given in the books:
1. It is illegal in almost all circumstances you would want to use it.
2. Regular or high consumption causes painful death
Additionally, think about it logically: If everybody could (and would) use it all the time, what consequences would it have?
1. Would you want to if you cannot guarentee you caused a single of your achievements? If everything you managed in life is most likely because of a potion and no guarentee that you could do it without? You end up with most of the population having imposter syndrom. It would be a mental health infrastructure disaster!
2. Considering how often someone's success has to do with someone else's failure, the potion would cancel each other out.
I live for your reactions to these movies. Can’t wait for the last two, but I’ll be sad once it’s over. I really like the way you caught on to feeling kinda bad for Draco. While movie and book Draco are a bit different as far as I remember, I always felt bad for him. He was given this task as a punishment for his father who failed his mission in the last movie. Voldemort knew Draco would never succeed to kill Dumbledore and was probably expecting him to die. Draco is a bully, yes and by no means a good person. But he’s also still a child who doesn’t really have a choice.
One thing that is a bit of a shame is that they didn't include all of the memories that Dumbledore had about Voldemort. The ones that they didn't include are as follows;
1. A Ministry official visiting Voldemort's mother's family, the Gaunts, in their run down shack of a home, where you see that Voldemort's grandfather Marvolo (Voldemort's middle name) and his uncle Morfin are both crazed and inbred muggle haters who regularly speak to snakes, and that Voldemort's mother Merope was severely abused and that she ran away with a handsome Muggle man named Tom Riddle by bewitching him with a love potion. He later abandons her and she dies in the orphanage giving birth to Voldemort.
2. Voldemort at the age of 16 visiting his Uncle Morfin and framing him for the murders of Voldemort's muggle father and muggle grandparents that very night. (Their abandoned manor house is the one that Voldemort was hiding in at the beginning of Goblet of Fire, where he killed the old caretaker)
3. A young Voldemort in his 20's working at the dark wizard shop Borgin's and Burkes after Hogwarts, and while visiting a rich witch named Hepzibah Smith finding that she had a magical goblet that belonged to Helga Hufflepuff, as well as a locket that had belonged to Salazar Slytherin, an object that belonged to Voldemort's mother before she pawned it. That night, Hepzibah is killed by Voldemort by bewitching her house elf to poison her drink, and he steals the cup and locket.
4. Voldemort in the 1960's, visiting Hogwarts to ask for a job as Defense Against the Darks Arts teacher, only for Dumbledore to suspect that Voldemort only wants the job to recruit followers. After rejecting Voldemort for the job, no teacher has lasted more than a year at the job, as it is now cursed out of spite by Voldemort's hand.
Voldemort was not in his 60's if I remember correctly. He was somewhere in his 30's. He died when he was 71.

Dumbledore's death: Don't you remember Alex? In the the first movie, Hermione said, what's the one thing You know who's always feared. Dumbledore, as long as Dumbledore's around, you can't be touched.
And now, Dumbledore's is no longer available. He has passed. So Voldemort can go ahead and Carry out his plans to eliminate Harry.
As someone who read the books and THEN watched the movies, it's so interesting to see you react to this. Like, how much you catch right away, how much you are able to infer even without being told. It's really cool and I'm so appreciative for these videos ❤️🙏
This is the worst adapted movie in the series. Leaving so much incredibly good content from the book out in way of cheesy love stories, that were not in the book btw.
Some content left out that come to mind:
- Ron's' path to Quidditch greatness, he's quite shit to begin with and struggles.
- A HUGE amount of information about Voldemort's past, his family, and his dark personality even as a child.
- The half blood prince's book is barely in the movie.
- How Harry actually convinces Slughorn. In the book Harry really gives it to Slughorn, and says he's a disgrace to Lily's memory if I remember correctly. Such a powerful passage.
- How the Weasley brothers open their shop, they actually drop out of school without finishing exams after the deal with Umbridge, They get the Tri Wizard prize money from Harry to open their shop. Just a small detail, but I like it and hate that it isn't included.
Loving the reactions though. Will patiently wait for the next one.
Best JUMP SCARE I've seen in a long time! I usually skip the cave scene because I cannot stand the pain that Dumbledore endures, but watching the edited version with your reaction was worth it...😉 The next two movies wrap everything up really well, you will absolutely love them.
Yeah, I still had to skip some of that scene because it's too uncomfortable.
Great reaction. Also, fun fact. In the first potion scene where Hermione is explaining her reaction to saying what the love potion smells like for her. If you pay close attention the smoke changes colors for each smell. Like blueish for the toothpaste and green for the freshly mowed grass and brownish for the freshly pressed parchment. I've been watching these movies at least once a week for years and every time I watch I find a new background visual that I hadn't noticed previously. Again, awesome reaction mate.
I never noticed that! Thank you!
@Bella Vandeale No problem.
At least once a week... How the fuck do you even have time for that? That's like 16 hours. I thought I was a fan watching a few times a year but God damn!

I totally get the obcessive watching. I listen to the audio books (Stephen Fry) on a very regular basis.
In the movies I can see what you mean when you say Harry should be with Hermione because they take all of Rons moments and give them to Hermione and the completely butcher Ginny's character. But in the books Ginny is badass and Ron and Hermione are good together because Ron is street smart and Hermione is book smart
Yeah unfortunately Ron didn't get to shine much in the movies. That's just sad. I need re-read the books again. However I didn't read it all tho. (First time even I mean). So far I have read Prisoner of Azkaban (my most favourite one of the bunch), I have read chamber of secrets, Philosopher Stone, half blood prince and Deathly Hallows. I never got my hands on the Goblet of Fire book and the Order of the Phoenix books. Unfortunately.
Even in the books, I wanted Harry and Hermione to end up together. They always seemed like they were on the same page. Don't get me wrong! I love Ron, but he was always kind of on his own wavelength.
@@Shap0o.PlayZzYou're not missing much with Goblet

I think this is among the most interestingly shot films ever created. The almost grayscale filter edited across the whole movie is a very cool stylistic choice, especially towards the ending with how dreadful and dark it gets.
Dumbledore's death was a shock to everyone, especially considering - if I recall both books 6 & 7 had just released when this movie came out, so spoilers were scarce as they didn't know the source material yet.

the simplest answers are usually the right ones... remember the book was about potions and Snape was always a savernt at potions, secondly yes he was half blood and his mother's last name was Prince, Eileen Prince, a detail the movie left out, Hermonie was determined to find out all through the year... to be honest, I love your reactions seeing as for me this was my best book but least favorite of all the movies, so many missed opportunities! Can't wait for your last 2 reactions
Alex, the book’s obviously go into WAY more detail about backstories and character development. After you finish the last 2 films, I highly recommend that you read them. You’ll have even more appreciation for the movies.
Tbh, Dumbledore dying could be expected. It's pretty much a standard trope in the hero's journey that the mentor character has to die, so the hero faces the main challenge without any "safety net" (it raises the stakes and it's necessary to complete the hero's arc). The only other option would be to disable Dumbledore to a point that he is completely unable to help in any way.
In star darlings the mentor character is acused of all the wrongdoings the vilian did and got trapped by the vilian and couldnt do anything but wait so that was really wel done
Now i see the genius behind some authors making the mentors literal ghosts and spirits, so they don't have to deal with this shit!
the sensei always dies
Hearing you say you have an irrational fear of throwing up makes me feel so not alone!!! I have a genuine phobia and it really affects me in so many ways - I hope you don’t have it as bad as I do though!
Im on this boat too. I don’t even like coughing up phlegm and spitting it out for fear of vomit coming out.
My phobia is of seeing or hearing people vomit. (And then that ~smell~....) 🤢
Yes this is the movie that gets everybody pumped and angry for certain and it will confuse you a little bit because they start to bombard you with a bunch of information ,but you must pay attention . Side note I will always feel bad during the dinner party scene. Robert Knox was the of noxious boy talking about potions being a waste of time. He was supposed to have a continuing role in the next film but he died just prior to the release of the Half-Blood Prince. He got stabbed protecting his brother.
The memories are not only a copy, but after you use them, you can scoop them back up in a vial and res-use them again.
41:40 Apparently, Daniel Radcliffe didn't like his performance here at all bc he was struggling with alcohol during this time and I think he was either "under some influence" or taking inspiration from this sort of behavior of a drunk person, which is sad ofc... but I think it is one of his best and probably the funniest scene sequence, I just love how he acted here 😂
The "Big Ass Bird" is Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix. The phoenix is very loyal, and now that Dumbledore is dead, Fawkes has no reason to stay at Hogwart's. In the books, instead of a single screech, he sings a song that mesmerizes everybody. After Dumbledore's funeral, he flies away and is never seen again.
The liquid luck potion is described in more detail in the books. You can really only drink it a couple times in your life before it becomes dangerous to take. The "luck" part stops working but you still feel and act as if it is.
Basically like drugs and its effect (or lack thereof) after using it multiple times.

6:13 lol not sure what you mean
The 2nd movie was the first time we see Ron's house, they meet up with Hermione in Diagon Alley
3rd movie Harry goes to the Leaky Cauldron (that's in London) and in the morning he finds them downstairs.
4th movie Hermione wakes Harry and Ron up in the morning before they leave for world quidich cup. Hermione says she had just arrived and Harry says he just got there the night before.
oh and 5th movie they met up at the old Black house (where Sirius grew up) which they were using as the order of the pheonix HQ
Still catching up on your HP videos, so I don't know if this has been explained already. But, the reason Harry doesn't tell or share things with the adults around him, is because for the 11 years Harry has been taught to not trust help. And (at least in the books) it was drilled into Harry's head not ask questions.
53:10 Yes, that is literally Dumbledore's phoenix, Fawkes. The phoenix birds and members of the Dumbledore family have a very strong bond. That one was just mourning Albus' death...
I don’t know why, but this movie I think is my favorite. Unpopular opinion as most love Prisoner of Azkaban. Despite the ending, I just love the mix of humor, and everything in it. It’s hard to explain my reasons for it being my favorite.
Daaaaamn big ass bird 😂😂😂 - Alex, that's Fawkes, Dumbledore's Phoenix. The one that came to Harry in the chamber of Secrets. Remember? 🎉😂😂
The “Big Ass Bird” at the very end was Fawkes, the Phoenix. Very big in Chamber of Secrets and in one particular scene in Order Of The Phoenix
Answers to your questions/comments made in the video:
- I also have a phobia of throwing up! Emetophobia. It sucks.
- Apparating is traveling through space, so they're just in a different place, not a different time or universe lol.
- I promise you . . . Dumbledore is NOT looking at any women lustfully. Maybe some men 😏
- Yeah, Ron's house is generally the common meeting place since he's the only one with a magical family, Harry and Hermione were both raised by Muggles. So it's either The Burrow or somewhere else in the wizarding world that they meet up for the summer, like Diagon Alley in Prisoner of Azkaban.
- Ron's estimation for Dumbledore's age was a little over; he's about 115 years old when he dies.
- Ron knows stuff because he lives full time in the wizarding world, and Hermione knows stuff because her parents are supportive of her being a witch and therefore she's able to easily do things like get the magical newspaper and visit the wizarding world during the summer. Harry on the other hand has a family that is unsupportive of his magical abilities and education and therefore, while he still is able to get the paper and go places, the Dursleys can get in the way of that and hinder him; thus, he has less ability than the other two to find out things going on in the WW.
- The shop is the Weasley twins' business, yes. Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, the joke shop.
- Haha, the little floof on Ginny's shoulder is Arnold, a Pygmy Puff. There is a creature in wizarding world known as a Puffskein, and Pygmy Puffs are a miniature form of Puffskein bred by Fred and George to sell as pets in their shop.
- The recipe wasn't wrong, per se, the Prince (i.e. Snape) just found better ways to prepare the ingredients.
- I believe Dumbledore can magically remove the memories from the Pensieve again once they've been viewed.
- Lol, Snape wasn't even close to born back when Voldemort was a kid. Tom Riddle was born 31 Dec 1926 and attended Hogwarts from Sep 1938 to Jun 1945. Snape was born 9 Jan 1960, and attended Hogwarts from Sep 1971 to Jun 1978.
- My brother and I made Butterbeer from a recipe and it was really good! Butterbeer's meant to be warm but this was more like an ice cream float, regardless it was good . . . god, now I want to make it again lmao.
- Lol, yes, snogging just means kissing/making out.
- The thing that Draco put the apple in is a Vanishing Cabinet. It has a twin in Borgin and Burkes (which is why Draco went there near the beginning of the movie, and which Arthur talked about later), creating a passageway between the two locations. One of them was broken and they've been fixing the connection; Draco putting the apple in was a test to see if it was working at all yet. It arrived at Borgin and Burkes and whoever was waiting for it took a bit out of it to show Draco it was successful. The intention was for the Death Eaters to infiltrate Hogwarts via the Cabinet - which is how they get in at the end of the movie - but they didn't want to do human trials right away just in case, hence the apple and the birds.
- **snort** When Cormac said Hermione "likes to work her mouth", he meant she talks a lot. He said "Yap yap yap" before he ate the dragon ball, she keeps yapping. Probably to keep him from trying to kiss her.
- "Mini pies?! Dude, I would slap down on that!" Do you not have mince pies in the US? (And no, they're not actually minced meat anymore, idk why they're still called mince pies. They have fruit - e.g. raisins - and spices in them).
- The tent from movie 4 didn't belong to the Weasleys, it was lent to Arthur by a co-worker. Regardless, even if he did have it, it wouldn't fit them all, and likely would have been in the burning house and thus burned itself.
- Slughorn didn't act because he was in a state of fight, flight, or freeze, and his body chose freeze. He was horrified that Ron had suddenly taken such a dramatic turn, was DYING, on his watch, and froze up, his brain unable to tell him what he needed to do. Harry, used to being in high-stress situations, thought quickly and remembered way back to his first ever Potions class, where Snape told them a bezoar (the thing Harry put in Ron's mouth) can cure most poisons, and jumped into action.
- It's ironic you say Daniel Radcliffe did a great job with this, because Dan says this is his least favourite movie. Around the end of filming movie 5 and beginning of filming movie 6, Dan developed an alcohol addiction, and throughout filming movie 6 he often showed up to work drunk. He says he can tell during which scenes he was wasted. He's been trying to stop drinking since 2010, and finally went tee-total in 2019, and (as far as we know) has thankfully been sober ever since.
- Draco is a sympathetic character. Good? No. But he was raised by Death Eaters and didn't know otherwise, and when he finally was made to become a Death Eater by Voldemort, he realised just how terrifying it actually was. Immediately forced to commit murder, or he would be murdered himself. It makes sense that you feel sorry for him.
- "Don't kiss him, woman, he's a child." He's also her nephew; his mother is Bellatrix's sister.
-- Yay, Snape is the Half-Blood Prince! Explanation: Severus' father was a Muggle man named Tobias Snape, and was an abusive man; and his mother was a witch named Eileen, making Severus a half-blood. When Severus went to school and was thinking up his little nickname, he didn't want to use "Snape" because he hated his father, so he went with his mother's maiden name: Prince.
- That "big ass bird" at the end was Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix from movie 2. He was bonded to Dumbledore, and with Dumbledore dying he had no reason to stick around anymore and left to become a wild phoenix again.
Most of your points, if not all of them, are answered in the movie and are pretty obvious if Alex paid attention more lol
R.I.P. the actors of Malfoy's mom, Haggrid, and Snape.
I wanna hug Draco😢 Also they made movie Ginny stiffer than a bamboo while book Ginny's a badass beetch

fun fact : Alan Rickman knew the full story of his character from JK Rowling mouth, he was the only person on earth with full detail of the story.
It helped him been the best son of bitchs to cinema and the most complex one to date
I'm convinced it was not only Voldemort that had Draco so scared, I think it was aunty Bella too. She is the one who taught him occlumancy and who started showing him the really dark stuff in his father abcense and I think that kiss is a good way to show an underlying relationship that we can not see creepy af

I am glad you like the movies. They are quite good. I do have to say that you really need to take the time and read the entire series of books. You were correct thinking they contain more back story for many things. For example of missing content. The Order of the Phoenix is the longest book in the series by far and it is also the shortest movie. They cut a ton of content out of it to make it fit into the one movie. Keep up the good work and stay happy :)
100%. I’ve read and re-read those books more than any others. The movies are fun, but I never understood how people who just watched the movie understood anything.
Draco has always been my favorite character in a less magic way I always related to him the most. Harry was the chosen one, he was loved by everyone and popular in school. Malfoy was raised in an abusive and racist family trying to keep up with his family's high expectations, seeking their love. He had no real friends in school ever, no one he could trust with his real feelings. He told himself he was chosen when in reality he never had a choice. This is my favorite movie because it shows exactly that. Draco is not the asshole Kid anymore he is a vulnerable character with depth and I love how Tom was able to portray that. The scene on the Tower has me crying like a baby every time.
Actually it's funny how similar Draco and Harry are in a weird way. Maybe in another life they could've been friends and healed together.
😂His family is not racist
@@x.mono.x4011 No? How else would you describe murdering people because of their ancestry? If Voldemort isn't havently influenced by Hitler then I don't know
Snape is the same age as Harrys parent who are much younger than Voldemort
That "big ass bird" was the Phoenix from Dumbledore's office in the second movie.
A really great reference is Bezoar(that saved Ron live) from the first film, where Snape flooded him with questions and one was about bezoar where to look for it and Snape said a bezoar is good thing against a lot of poisons, that why Harry look for bezoar. I really like this moment
Snape had no choice but to kill Dumbledore because he took an oath in the beginning of the movie with Malfoy's mom to protect Malfoy and finish the job if Malfoy could not. Snape would have died and be exposed as a double agent.

You are so spot on about things you don't even know you know. Great reaction, once again. The last two movies are fantastic, because unlike the prior ones that crammed everything from each book into a couple of hours, the final book is given room to breathe because it's split into 2 movies. Thanks for your reactions -- they're excellent!
Fun fact: the concept of seeing memories was invented, like the invisible cloak, purely as a plot device, to allow Harry to see things he couldn't see (as the book was written from a very strict first-person POV from Harry's viewpoint). Not uncommon, but Jo did a good job, and it worked quite well within the wider setting and story, of course.
I have so many plot devices and armour, but I need her to teach me how to properly incorporate it into my world lol
It works super well in the video game as well, just stunning writing from the creators of Hogwarts Legacy
@@rammsteinrulz16I think an important aspect is that things like pensieves and invisibility cloaks although rare, they are items known to be used by wizards, so they don't come off as overtly superconvenient plot devices
Third person, not first person. And Rowling does write several chapters outside of Harry's pov to give info/context to the reader.
So this reaction didn't make it into the playlist and I was very confused when it seemed to skip a movie, then I saw this on the home page and was like OH that's why. I think adding it where it needs to go could be helpful to future viewers, probably.
