Taj has been playing Blues Rock since the 60's. A great artist/musician. Gregg Allman does a song with Jackson Browne in this concert. Thanks for the wonderful reaction. ☮💜🎶
It was the version of "Statesboro Blues" from the 1968 LP "Taj Mahal" that changed the direction of the Allman Brothers. Duane was in the hospital recovering from an injury and Gregg brought him this LP ... and the rest, as they say is history. The two guitarists on the Taj Mahal version were Ry Cooder and Jesse Ed Davis ... well worth a listen.
The great Chuck Leavell on piano! He was held is such high regard by anyone and everyone in the music industry for decades. The Rolling Stones called him to be their Director of much for their tours since the 1980's.
Taj, has a huge repertoire of blues music spanning 5 decades. For me his earier music is his best but he still rocks. Thanks for this one, keep up the great music memories,😅
Guys, this is the real deal !!! This is what music is all about...the joy it brings to not only the players but the audience. Your absolutely right...this is top notch !!!
Greg Allman was born to sing the blues. Can't go wrong with the Allman Brothers or Greg Allman. Thanks for the reaction. That's what real music is supposed to do for you. 😊
Taj Majal is unique by himself..I like his Giant Step song off his album by the same name… The Allmans are great,I especially enjoy their eat a peach album
I hope the great .music tradition in the U.S. continues despite all the turmoil we are experiencing. I'm convinced it's a cure for evil and greed and hatred. Keep chasing joy.❤
Yes Gregg, one of the greatest blues singers of all time!… But you still have not heard the Allman Brothers with Gregg’s brother Duane playing slide. This was an interesting request, but in my opinion, you should’ve heard the original recording from the Fillmore East of the band with Duane… That being said I’m still gonna be saving my requests for Zeppelin but I hope you get to One Way Out, which was also recorded at the Fillmore East 1971 off the Allman Brothers album Eat a peach… A great song with great playing by both Duane and Dickey Betts. 😊
Great to see him & Greg together. Taj's got huge discography, been around forever. I like this version of Take A Giant Step, it's truly a balm for the soul: ua-cam.com/video/zafN8DFPJbI/v-deo.html fyi I saw Taj probably 35+ years ago near Detroit, and he was built like a linebacker. Don't know why that stuck with me, always odd to see him in later years.

One of my favorite concerts ever was Taj Mahal. Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee, 1978. We were far left about 5th row. I don't think we sat down once.
Omg! More blues & Southern Rock please!! Love you two!❤
What can I say? This was the playlist of my youth.
The great Taj Mahal and the great Gregg Allman!!!
