Thanks for the tips. I’ve mastered surviving in the woods using creeks, fishing polls, and animals. Mastered this because vanilla was hard to find food on a full server. So I always went to the woods after finding a tool to make a stone knife. One I got the knife it was on. No I’m going to combine this and base building.
Stealth and patience cannot be separated: One thing is that you make less noise when sitting still or moving slowly, but the real reason is that first you want to find out more (is that guy alone, where's he going, what's he doing there) and to do that, you need to remain undiscovered. If you don't care *cough* Ray Ray *cough* , you can do without the patience, and thus without the stealth. But you can't do without travelling light: Stamina means a lot, in every situation from melee to healing to sniping, and of course to getting to the action in the first place. Nice pointers :)

Good video, but I’ve always found that being really geared and having tools and weapons for most situation while still having at 35% or more stamina keeps me alive the longest. I understand The packing light argument but the only benefit is higher stamina, worst comes to worst just pop an epinephrine. I’m not saying hold 200 rounds for a gun you don’t have, but it’s it’s better to have a sniper and a AR then one or the other, also not having a plate Carrier has killed me a million more times than not having enough stamina, but still a great vid 👍
As I said in the vide: Less loot = less noise, less noticeable and more stamina. There is a lot of benefit to the way that I play. If you find that the way you play works for you then that's great, but you're extremely limited with your movements-- which to me is an issue🤷♂️
@@Huhnlord Not necessarily. When most people 1 tap or knock you uncon, I'd argue it's typically with a Mosin, Tundra, etc-- those shots will knock you out regardless of the vest. Plate included. The shock absorption between the 3 main vests is pretty comparably close. The plate might keep you at 3 quarters health as opposed to half, but odds are if you get knocked uncon, a good player will double tap and you're dead anyway
@@Huhnlord plus, I'm playing to be undetected before I take a shot anyway. My goal is to be the initiator. Spot, track and ambush the target before they even know I'm around. The amount of plate carrier dudes I've essentially killed (knocked uncon to then quickly double tap) with one hit with a Mosin shot to the chest has made such an impression on me that I don't even waste the stamina wearing them.
@@bwad99 The noise difference between clothing is really minimal, The main factor is your shoes, there is a small difference with backpacks so I won’t carry something like a field backpack, and The plate carrier absorbs a decent amount more damage than the stab vest, but why it’s so good is because of its durability if you shoot someone wearing a stab vest with a 45asp 1-3 times it will break. a plate carrier makes you a literal bullet sponge to lower calibers and let you not get one tapped knocked out by ARs.

Yes. You can grow a beard on male character models. It usually takes a few hours of in game survival without dying. Not too sure on the precise time measures though

I'm having so much trouble with Freshie killers it's just driving me away from the game. It'd be nice if server owners would actually do something about them.
its part of the game. freshie killers are lame but those people are paranoid because they have some gear on them and you are a freshie who doesnt lose anything if you rush them and try to kill them so they resort to kill fresh spawns that they see. just go more inland as soon as possible. try to avoid geared players on coast
the game is so good but it's inherently anti social. They have an amazing uncon combat system installed in the game but there are so many OHK guns it doesnt even matter. They should make nonvitals significantly tankier and require shots in vital areas to OHK so it's easier to hold people hostage and make friends.
Although I agree with your point about nonvital/vital areas having different impacts on damage and such-- dayz is not antisocial. In fact it's the opposite. I would say DayZ is an extremely social game and what I love the most are the adventures I go on with random players.
That all sounds fine and dandy but what do you do when the majority of servers have little to no gear? I’ve played for longest 2 hours and ended up not finding water and died. Shit game.
Maps generally have wells on them. I use IZurvive. Wells are the ONLY source of clean water without treating the water in some way. Wells are generally, but not always, considered neutral ground. There, while drinking, you may be better able to strike up a friendly conversation and even make trades. If you find a cooking pot and know how to build a fire, you can fill the pot with poop water and boil the water, let it cool. It will be clean water you can drink. You can also use the pot to store stuff inside it to keep that stuff from getting damaged in a fight.
@@bwad99 i am trying my best now, thanks to your videos i am not trying to loot all the buildings, but only the hot spots and move in land as fast as possible

I don't think I'll be trusting anyone in this game. On xbox every player seems to be a kos or a liar. First person I finally talked to and asked if I'd run with him, waited untill I was dropping him some food and grabbed a gun from my inventory and shot me. Who does that ? No longer giving chances untill someone can change my mind.
just bought the game.. EVERY server i join, it's dark out.. and literally can't see sht. can't find any decent loot, get attacked by zombie, kill him.. use a bandage.. find a used shirt.. another zombie, last bandage.. find a wrench, then die from, idk what.. getting tired of the game already.. and every 'beginner guide' video i watch, they're starting in daylight with an abundance of killer loot... i don't get it.
A lot of that "abundance" comes from knowing where to look. Usually that knowledge comes from experience. His videos are an attempt to teach what that experience taught him. For instance it may take me several minutes to examine everything in a house looking for loot. He can stick his head in a room make one glance around and immediately leave because that glance told him nothing was there. Guess which of us finds loot first, and which spent the most time "looting".
These are all great tips for survival... but a player running this light would ZERO reason to engage anyone.... because they simply wouldn't be able to carry the loot of their kill.
You need to rethink how you manage your loot then if you adopt this playstyle. I don't ever have issues. Take everything off their body, transfer it to a safer location, take what you need and carry on. Not much to it.
You can loot a body without taking everything they have. For instance, food. Take it and start eating as you leave the area. Maybe a few meds you don't already have and have been keeping your eye out for. Some players take hard-to-find gear, especially guns, and toss it as far as they can in a random direction.
Totally me being a total newbie. its way over my head lol. i'm new and playing it on gamepass and learning chicken bones made knives was HUUUGE for me lol.

@@nintendbro3275 thanks a lot for that I’ll definitely be checking it out!
Don't trust the plain clothes guy if he's leading u to a military checkpoint ... Learned the hard way. Got me and another friendly survivor killed . Trust No One
Do you have some sort of hiding place for extra gear or do you just only have what’s in your inventory? Because it’s hard enough to just find food for me and guns are out of question.
there are base building elements in the game.
so you can possibly bury your gear in chests or dry bags.
Let's go I needed this.
All good advice
Finally non British speaker
Keep up the good work... just quick question seeing as you can shave with a knife duse this mean you can grow a beards? And how long do you need to stay alive to do this ? Thanks in advance
Yes. You can grow a beard on male character models. It usually takes a few hours of in game survival without dying. Not too sure on the precise time measures though
thanks homie !
I play on vanilla and the only time I am not forced to KOS is with freshies.
The easiest time to interact is on the coast for sure.
Love the content bud! One of the best dayz content creators in my opinion! Awesome community!! Keep up the awesome work! 👍👊
Much appreciated 💙
How long do zombie bodies and dropped loot stay around? Knowing the mechanics of that would help in tracking players.
It's all server dependent, which is why I can't just give a general stat.
@@bwad99 guess that's why I can't find info. Was trying to find how far away a zombie would spawn on me as opposed to another player.
ive had a tent ive managed to keep stocked, no ones found it yet. its like my hide out between 2 towns. i can always find this area and know the areas near it, but i dont know how many times headding back to the tent im within halfa km and get killed :/ i had a sick camo net finally and walked into a house i was sus about as soon as i walked up and when i opened the door he full autoed me. i shouldve skipped the house and went to the tent lol
Can't get greedy in a game like this. It'll come back to bite ya ;)
@@bwad99 big time! i was looting bunkers on my way to gliniska and looked around and seen no one, ran into a bunker and no one was inside but i was shot and killed. had guns prepped with ammo and stuff. always get me when im full lol
You don’t carry matches or a lighter?
He does if he finds them. I even saw him with 2 lighters one time.
I'm having so much trouble with Freshie killers it's just driving me away from the game. It'd be nice if server owners would actually do something about them.
its part of the game.
freshie killers are lame but those people are paranoid because they have some gear on them and you are a freshie who doesnt lose anything if you rush them and try to kill them
so they resort to kill fresh spawns that they see.
just go more inland as soon as possible.
try to avoid geared players on coast
Steve-O, is that you?
Yeahhhhhhh duuude
Lips synch. on a pro level! 😂👍
The lip synch is as good as an anime dub💀
the game is so good but it's inherently anti social.
I would say DayZ is an extremely social game and what I love the most are the adventures I go on with random players.
military gear = threat and fresh spawn = chill, racism in dayz 😱😱😱😱💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You can also use the pot to store stuff inside it to keep that stuff from getting damaged in a fight.
for me always that kills me isn't players or zombies..
but freaking diseases, but 99% of the time man...
Keep your vitals stable and you won't get sick as often.
@@bwad99 i am trying my best now, thanks to your videos i am not trying to loot all the buildings, but only the hot spots and move in land as fast as possible
@@Tiger4ever89 nice dude. You got this!! Best of luck.
Is there a donkey
I can't even find any of this stuff for this video to begin to be useful
Great tips but the plate carrier has gotten me outta 50/50 situations where I kill them but I’m alive cause he hit me in the chest ya dig?
fair enough dude! i go back and forth, but still tend to try and run as light as possible. if you outflank/maneuver to maintain stealth, you don't end up with gunshot wounds as often either ;)
I don't even know how to find food or water
I don't think I'll be trusting anyone in this game. On xbox every player seems to be a kos or a liar. First person I finally talked to and asked if I'd run with him, waited untill I was dropping him some food and grabbed a gun from my inventory and shot me. Who does that ? No longer giving chances untill someone can change my mind.
Trust no one
just bought the game..
Anyone down to help me out? I'm new got the hang of most things just need help to build a place for myself
I find myself just wanting to make friends as I play (lonely dude) prob worst game for that!
Definitely not true. I've made really good friends that I've met in dayz and still talk to outside the game!
@@bwad99 oh awesome maybe I can try talking before shooting and see how long I can hold out before getting jaded lol
What is this heresy? Only horders play Dayz.
This seems like an advanced guide and not a beginner guide
How so?
Totally me being a total newbie. its way over my head lol. i'm new and playing it on gamepass and learning chicken bones made knives was HUUUGE for me lol.
@@millej11 lol well just takes some time and experience dude. You'll get there!
He has lots more teaching videos out there. Keep watching. @@millej11
