Bringing heavy bombers out in Ground RB is one of my favorite things to do. I just like carpet bombing something more dynamic than static red circles. I don't even care if I get kills or not - always just take the load with the most bombs in it and make lines on the map as often as I can. Obviously I am TRYING to hit something but the act of dropping them is plenty the reward. I want my B-52 and B-1B so I can drop 70 bombs a go.
A B1 would be dope! Or an F-111 and a pile of HARMS. WW- you've got to be S**ttin me!
If you have it you should try a carpet bomb with the Tu-4. It has four 3000 kg bombs or eight 1500 kg bombs and decimates everything
How about the B-36, 90 1,000lbs bombs in 1 go

I’ve been a B-17 CAS advocate for a while now, on my first try I got a triple kill on Port Nov and I’ve loved it since. I’ve been trying B-29 CAS with mostly negative results but it doesn’t stop me from trying. Nice to see this vid

I gotta say i really like the mig9 but i find it really struggles in air rb for some reason even at its br. But in ground rb the 37 works great for top down shots on tanks and the 23s work great against the same aircraft i seem to struggle with in air rb.

The area of a 21m r circle is over twice as large as a 14m r circle, so this definitely gives much much more coverage per bomb drop.

14m radius is 615 square meters of destruction where 21m is 1385 square meters of destruction, so the 2k bombs are over double the area overall :)
If I'm ever in a match and I see that "Phriutloops" on the enemy team has just exploded without being killed, the first thing I will feel is fear.

So I would say you should be allowed to have them.

B-17 is by far the best bomber (besides the b-29 (in my standers) with its bomb loads) for the long bombing satisfying kills.

I would really like to see the Lancaster carrying a 22.000 lb.(10,000kg.) grand slam. It's literally double the largest bomb currently in game. Now that we have bomb craters, it would be amazing.

Yeeeeeessss. Been taking out my B17 E a bunch and really loving it at 4.7. Nothing beats the satisfaction of doing well in one in ground RB, it’s great. Not to mention the praise allies give you for success in one. Really miss chatting in game as I’ve even had enemies compliment my B17 skills. Good stuff, would love to see you and Odd and some of the others do another video together taking these things out and just having a good time formation flying and carpet bombing. Should be easy to convince Odd, he loves his M4A1 76mm.

I yearn for the day we get the B-36 in this game.
I've been using the US bombers alot. I had a super long game on factory where I was able to make like 6 sorties with the B25. And I had a I-16 teammate that covered me the whole time and got a ton of bait kills. It was awesome.
Day 341: Phly, I challenge you to get 8 kills in one game with the SU-5-1. This MBT/Tank Destroyer is severely underloved in your channel.

Now you need to try the B-24! The B-24 was the most produced bomber in the world and had a bigger bomb load than the B-17. You could also try the PB4Y-2 (Navy variant) if you want to do naval battles
The PB4Y-2 is a whole different plane from the b-24.

B-17 is best B. Fight me only don't cause I'm obviously right. There would be absolutely no in-game use (for now) for YB-40 bomber escort or for 666, the armed high-speed photoreconnaissance custom Fortress. But 666 would be awesome. Ooh, give them a bomber spawn and let them hunt enemy bombers. They would be there, flying along thinking everything is good when suddenly you pounce on them in a Fortress air defence fighter and smother them in .50 cal.
Then for funsies you go Ground RB and do turret control gunship runs.
Day 67: Take the Scimitar, the last Supermarine, out for a spin. Do other things, that's fine, I love your videos, but also do the Scimitar one.

I've used the B-17 in ground RB a few times. It's doable but it's a pain to land if the map is small. I'm not sure if I ever got a 2nd drop off, I can't remember.
Phly, you should really try the mk24 spitfire again, afaik you haven't played it in 7 years on the channel.

My great grandma's brother was a B17 pilot and flew bombing runs in Europe his plane was shot down over Belgium and we was killed they received a letter after the war from the family that had buried him and to this day keep his grave clean and make Sure there are fresh flowers.
Seeing the B17G in ground RB reminds me awhile back I was starting to comment daily about using the HE-177 Geif for a vid. I hope Phlopdiddly PhlyDAD sees this and can make it happen soon :D

I have used the B-17 in ground 7.0 and to 8.0 now I'm using the B-29 in a 9.3 br, Only been shot down twice in the B-29

The b-17 can actually become a gunship but it will be difficult, because it use 12.7 mm machine gun i think tu-4 sounds good cause it has 23mm cannon

I think there just isn't enough time in ground battles for heavy bombers to be of any real use. The time it takes to turn alot of movement and killing has already taken place. I only use the bomber in ground to make a cool show of explosions for teammates.

B-17 Tail number 666 should be a premium aircraft. They loaded 50% more Browning M2 50 cals on it.
Even tho the RADIUS isn't double in the 2000 pounds, the area is 2 times bigger. So it is really better to use bigger bombs for payload to area of effect ratio. 1000 bombs will have 14 radios? They'll effect 615m^ while the 2000 ones are gonne effect 1384 m^
