Push the threshold up a little bit and poverty in China was even more striking: 99.1 percent of China’s population lived on less than $3.10 a day (over 980 million people). The last year for which the World Bank has official data is 2010, and the transformation, as you can see in the line graph above, is extraordinary. In 2010, only 11.2 percent (almost 150 million people) lived on less than $1.90 a day. Not shown above is that 27.2 percent (almost 360 million people) lived on less than $3.10 a day.

This doesn’t say anything about how well those lifted out of poverty are doing. It is quite a journey guiding and mentoring my now 20 yr old son with autism. He has breakdowns, loses his temper, gets very frustrated. I try to push him towards socializing with others his age. He is taking a full schedule at college, but does not socialize with others. However, when he masks, he speaks so intelligently to anyone and they are impressed. He becomes exhausted after his encounters with other people. All I want is for him to be able to make a living and take care of himself. This clip is very enlightening.

Honestly, I’m glad my parents made the decision to come to the UK. I’m 15, my brother is a 13 year old non verbal autistic child. In India, whenever he has a tantrum or cries for something or screams, he gets stared at, given dirty looks and my mum was even told to “learn how to parent”, when really, he is just overwhelmed. India and other LIC countries should really be aware of these situations as they are increasing.
The UK however, are so aware of the situation, help my brother whenever he needs. Thank god we’re here. Hope my brother likes it here too :)

I prefer his father who seems tender with him.Duane is not such an autistic case. If you're an adult and everybody is an adult, you're responsible of yourself. Your sisters have their own lives, they might not be able to check on your depressed self. You need to stand up by yourself and stop blaming other people.
They who blame others will never get there. They who blame themselves is halfway there. They who blame no one is already there. So pick yourself up without relying on anybody and especially blaming them for your problem.

Burdening siblings is an interesting statement because family should always come first and even though it is difficult at times with my brother I cannot imagine him being locked up in a home somewhere. If Duane was going to end up in a home then he should never have gotten used to being in a family and in a loving environment just to be put into one of those places.
