Wonderful job discussing the importance of prioritizing the marriage. Your children will see what a loving, intentional relationship is supposed to be like and willl know the standard. It is imperative for parents to have balance, time for their marriage, time for themselves so that their children will learn how to optimize the living experience. I also think it's wonderful Valeria that you read so often and are setting that example for the younger generations that follow you.

I feel like many couples now focus on getting married not what it will be like to be married. It takes work, communication, compromise & being thoughtful & intentional. I randomly found your channel & I love this video. You both are so respectful to each other & kind. It’s beautiful to watch & listen.

My parents prioritized their marriage when I was growing up and I’m so glad they did. I never felt abandon or like an after thought, as it was always clear that they would do anything for me. Seeing their healthy relationship has helped me so much now as an adult because I know what a good relationship should look like, I’m able to voice my needs and expectations in a relationship, and I’m able to cut out the people who aren’t right for me very quickly. What you guys are doing is the right thing and your boys will appreciate it when they’re older.

You know my dad when I was a little girl said I love your mom the very most and then after that I love my kids the very most…. I felt so safe when he told me that. I think I was six. It felt like having my dad prioritize my mom even when it was hard meant even when it was hard he would prioritize us over other less important things. And I’m 30 now and he always has❤️

My parents prioritized their relationship over us kids 100% it's the foundation. Created much stability! Also once we moved out of home my parents still knew who they are as a couple and are still happily together 55 years later...

We too prioritize our marriage... I think that showing our children how to love.. care.. respect our OTHER half.. Benefits our children to treat in time their OTHER half in the same manner.... Of course they know they are our NO. 1's...but mum and dad count too....Thanks for speaking out ALLOWED about this topic... 🙏HI from 🇬🇷

me and my boyfriend don't have nor intend to have kids in the future, but the way you explained everything about the first question is exactly how i'd raise my children and mind my marriage if i did have kids. i just think it's the healthier for all parts and it is SO important not to loose yourselves and your relationship when you're parents...that's how you prevent your kids from becoming super dependent on you and also make sure that your relationship will be happy in the long run.
i know it's not the same, at all, but we always try to make some space in our lives for dates, romance and relationship growth, even when we're super busy.

I really loved your advice about keeping it fresh in relationship by being whole and well rounded individuals who constantly work on themselves before just being defined by a relationship.

Omg the kid saying immesiate Yes to wanting to go to an etiquette class soooo cute 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
On a more serious note, these two have such a beautiful relationship.
It's interesting to me how serious they come off. In a lot of public relationships that we look up to, we are used to seeing a lot of chemistry and fun. Not saying these two don't have that, but they are more serious, at least on camera. I think it actually talks about the depth of their partnership, and that it's so much more than about JUST two people who have chemistry and can flirt and find attraction in each other. They're truly attracted to the PERSON each other is (rather than the surface).

I so loved that you both gave your honest thoughts and feelings. Very eloquently expressed. I am also in a good age-gap marriage and staying stronger for 15 years and counting. I feel that the key things to make the relationship work is respect, honesty, loyalty and trust. I also loved that you mentioned Nori (such an angel).. sometimes we need to face that we need help and resort from other people's expertise so we do not fail. As they always say prevention is better than cure. Gary is so smart for suggesting to get help as your marriage and family is your biggest investment. I can see why you fall for him. I love you guys and hope to meeting you both someday 😘

Just saw this video and I love the message behind it❤️ I think it’s so important for parents to prioritize their relationship first before anything because that’s the base of a family, its the people that started it the family! The solid relationship that you have with your partner is an example to your children and I think as long as you show and teach them love in the best way possible that’s all that matters don’t listen to people who are saying different! Love this !❤️

YES!! I love the thought that the parents staying happily married is key because that is what started the family in the first place. It is so sad when the kids are the very thing that drives couples apart and precisely END the marriage and break up the family

I just saw your short clip about putting your relationship first and I didn't think you were neglecting them but didn't understand what that means. This makes sense how you husband explains it. Is like when some one says, if you are in a malfunctioning plane you are supposed to put the oxygen on yourself first before the kids because you need to aid yourself first so you can help your kids and make sure they will okay.

I 100% agree on all these points. You definitely have a healthy and mature approach to marriage. My favorite analogy for child prioritization is the oxygen mask instruction on every flight. You have to put the mask on yourself first so you can breathe in order to help others. If you can’t breathe you are no help to those around you.

  • @bebitamira3054

I agree in the idea that it’s okay to try and make the lives of our children better ( specially since we are foreigners wanting to have a better quality life for our children and for them to aspire to have more and not to have to live through the misery we did)
But we have to realize they are just borrowed. The relationship is what’s gonna stay and if u want to still have a relationship with your spouse when the kids are done, you have to work on your relationship Today! Not when the kids are gone because by that time maybe love or whatever it’s gone.
    Balance is key.

I don’t have children and I’m too young to have any yet but I totally understand what you guys mean in prioritizing your relationship as a couple first. It makes total sense when you think about it. If you have a healthy and balanced relationship you will automatically become better parents and in the long term you are teaching your children what a healthy relationship looks like and that’s what they will look for in the future! Also I believe that truly knowing yourself as a person, knowing who you are and what you want in life is the most important step to be a good partner, parent, friend and person really. If you are well resolved with yourself you will be more balanced and focus your energy on your relationships and work. It might seem selfish but in the long term you will be a healthy person not only physically but especially mentally and you will be a better person in all areas of your life. You guys are amazing 🥰

Nowadays families prioritize their kids over themselves and now the kids rule the roost and step all over the parents. Kids need to know their role and parents need to be the example and disciplinarians to teach them the important life skills and how to have healthier, happier relationships with partners and themselves.
