    Completely agree. I've had my 21" Pegas for a couple years and love it. I had a Dewalt prior so it wasn't as big of an upgrade, but it's still a step up. My favorite thing is the clamps.

    hi Danielle, love your videos, I have the Pegas 21 too and I love it. You're right it is a game changer... As I was watching your video, I notice a nice white flowers frame in the background toward the end (at 2 min 38) and was wondering if you have a pattern for that or tell me where I can one, it's lovely. thank you 🙂

    Wow, you are very talented! Love all of the art displayed in the video. I'm building a shop and so far the best thing it did was NOT buy a CNC. I went for a router setup for carving and now thinking a scroll saw. I'd love a Pegas but want to start as humble as my bank account. Of the entry level machines, what do you recommend for prosumer, entry level-Etsy? (Ornaments, prototypes, etc, and anything a 1/4" bandsaw blade struggles with) Thank you for any help you can offer.

      LOL, nevermind. I just watched a guy cut out a Tree of Life pattern on a chunk of walnut...I gotta be able to do that! I'll save for entry level pinless. If you have any links, I'd love to support your channel with my purchase.

      Thanks so much! I appreciate the watch! I totally understand a budget and went years before I finally decided to get the Pegas. My only regret was not getting it from the get go. It’s honestly so much easier and more beginner-friendly. Though I haven’t used it personally, I been told that the DeWalt is the best of the more budget friendly versions. Here’s a link to where you can find the Pegas if interested. The code WENDELLWOODWORKS will take off 5% 😊. www.bearwood.com/pegas-scroll-saw-21-inch-usa.html

    I have a problem keeping the arm to stay up. Bear Woods sent me a new part to replace the pin in the back of the arm. When I tighten it it works several times and then starts to fall again. I know how to use the correct nut to tightened the arm. Any suggestions? Thanks. Gary

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  Рік тому

      Hmmm to be honest, I’ve never needed it to stay up. It’s usually just a quick lifting to help maneuver a new piece in. I was pretty thrilled it lifted at all compared to my others! Sorry I’m no help here! Glad Bear Wood was willing to help!

      I do not! I got permission from the artist to make a few pieces for charity. I used the actual image as my template :-). I love it too! It’s one of my faves 😍.

    How do you find the dust collection? What size is the port? I have a dirt cheap starter that throws so much dust, despite having a collection port, that I am looking to upgrade sooner or later.

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  11 місяців тому +1

      Honestly, that’s the one thing I don’t really utilize on it. The air blower always blows the dust away from my work and then I just suck it up at the end. Sorry for the lack of input there 😆🙂

      Hi George,
      I was considering the 30" Pegas but I cannot find a light source, The one that Bear Woods sells will not reach the scroller if placed at the back of the saw. I received an email on Jan. 23rd from from Bear Woods saying they know of no larger light/magnification lamp from their supplier and they are not going to search for a distributor. They say they have not received any requests for one other than mine. (Maybe that is why). I have the light/magnification lamp they sell on my 21" Seyco Scroll Saw and it works fine. To use that on the 30" S.S. I would have to attach it further closer to the scroller which would defeat the purpose of the 30" throat clearance.
      If you find a light source let me (& possibly others) know. Thanks.
      Steve Moser

      Hi George, How is your experience been with the 30" Pegas Scroll Saw? I wrote about 5 months ago talking about finding a magnifying light source for the 30" S.S. I may have found a source but I thought I would check with someone who has had some time with the 30" S.S. and get your impressions. Thanks. Steve M.

    Trying to decide between the Dewalt 788 and the Pegas. Any thoughts on the Dewalt? It is definitely cheaper! I am not going to sell what I make, this would just be for hobbies with wood.

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  Місяць тому +1

      Hi, Cheri! I haven’t had experience with the Dewalt myself. From what Ive heard, it’s not the quality or ease of use as the Pegas, but still good for a lower-budget saw. Bear Woods also offers Pegas chuckheads that can be installed on DeWalts to elevate it, so not a bad option! :). I’ve never regretted my Pegas for a moment though!

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  Рік тому +1

      I haven’t used it myself to compare, but I’ve heard that the DeWalt is pretty good but the chuck head isn’t as good. Pegas does sell a chuck head you can replace that one with though if it gives you trouble. And if you end up needing one, you can save 5% on one from Bearwoods with the code WENDELLWOODWORKS 😊.

    I'm fairly new with scroll sawing why is it harder to cut 1/4 inch wood than thicker wood?

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  7 місяців тому

      Hi, Jeff! I would say the problem is too big of a blade. You definitely need a smaller/less aggressive blade for thinner woods. If you don’t have any available right now, I would recommend you stack 2 pieces together to make it thicker and more manageable with your current blade. Hope that helps a bit!
