I just came across this version on 2525, and I absolutely love the techno version of it. At 62, im still jamming to 2525. Never gave it much thought about seeing 2020, I only imagine what 2525 would be like. Kindof glad I wount be here to see it the way the world is heading. However, there is always hope for the future. I remember calling in to a radio station I loved when they took song requests when I was maybe 7 or 8. I don't remember when I heard it for the first time, but I requested it often. I agree it's incredible, and muuuuuuch appreciated taking this and giving it a new spin.

I worked at Bryce Canyon, Utah in the summer of 69, I had just graduated from high school. Was able to receive on the radio in my 67 Mustang the Zager and Evans hit, and others like "Green River" by CCR late at night when atmospherics were good. Don't remember where the radio station was that we picked up but was hundreds of miles away and would fade in and out. I like Janes's version, very nice.

Well, in reality, this 1983 version by Jane Rossi (also known as Jane Comerdorf and Jane Comerdorf-Grosser) is a cover of original song by Zager and Evans, originally recorded in 1969.
You're so right and since the 80s are making a comeback in the 2020s I bet Technology advancements, Fight against the system and many more things will occur. 20s are the new 80s and I'm happy I get to experience it bc Im an early 00s baby that's always loved the 80s.

As a person born in the mid-60s, I grew up with this song by Zager & Ivans. Now, in my early 60s, I have to realize that they gave far too long a time frame for her prophecy. One or two lifetimes would have been enough.

This amazing cover came out in 1983! Jane Rossi (also known as Jane Comerford or Jane Comerford-Grosser) sadly no longer makes new music, she instead turned to vocal coaching. The last release of her performance, according to Discogs, seems to be from 1998, an album called "Somebody Sent Me An Angel". Doesn't look like she's been successful in her singing carreer 🤔
Not sure why you say that. She was in the Texas Lightning band, she wrote and sang "No No Never" which won the German Eurovision selection contest (came 14th in the Europe final - most of Europe doesn't appreciate country), she was a music judge on German reality shows for years (Fame Academy, Popstars).
