what makes this song both inspiring and apocolyptic is were already seeing the birth of these technologies and while it it will happen much faster than what this song sings about.. it doesnt change the fact that mankind is aproaching a new dawn.. a dawn of technology that may no longer require us to persist and move forward in the vastnest of the universe representing us only...the us that no longer exist..

Awesomely appropriate imagery for this haunting classic! Nicely Done! Pete Stark! I remember this song when it was brand new, playing on my tiny AM/FM "transistor radio" with a single ear plug. The Viet Nam war was raging...next door neighbor's son was KIA... was a 1st grader with an early ear & love for music...this song 'scared me' a little back then. Had to always wait for the next random radio rotation to hear it again, to remember the lyrics...simpler times...memories both happy & sad. Such is life.

The plot was about the main character having a story written out but a popular author stole his script and made his own version of it, I think that may be where the song was

I posted before but I can't tell you how much I really love this version of this song, it's so darn good! It has a retro 70s feel. It feels like Alan Parsons Project, Moody Blues and a little bit of ELO mixed in with it to make a cool, groovy song!

Usually I find remixes of old songs I love are horrible, but this one is totally awesome and one of the very best remixes I've ever heard and one that I love much better than the original version! Very well done and the video with the music is so very cool too. Had to replay this one 5 times it's so awesome! Excellent job on the video and the remix!
I think the reason why this remix keeps the charm is because it's still fairly close to the original while also having modern elements. this is basically what it could look like if this song was written in our modern times.

I think in the lyrics the year 6565, it says 'You pick your sons, pick your daughters too, from the bottom of a long glass tube". He's talking about Invitro fertlization which I'm pretty sure was happening in 1995, so he was off on that one by centuries but it's amazing to think about.@jaydl828

Man, this is really such a depressing song, underscoring a certain decline and inevitable fall of mankind. And yet... somehow, it still manages to mezmerise with it's prophetic lyrics; pessimistic as they may be.
ironically the song was over hundreds of years but the reality is its taking place in the matter of decades over a course of a few generations.. the technological revolution is moving faster than humanity can keep up and with the ai singularity on horizon it will be our childrens dilema to have to deal with.. we maybe very facing a fermy parodox filter within the next hundred or so years.. lets just hope its speculation..
