I mean tbh that A400M should never have been on the runway whilst the cathay 747 was on short final. But yeah ATC did a good and safe recovery. It goes to show a simple lapse on judgement can be between life/death
Well atleast they told cathay 049 to go-around prior to their final approach and touchdown on runway 14. Interestingly, Dhaka tower even told cathay 049 the reason for a go-around order (which is an airbus a400m on takeoff point of runway 14) so atleast dhaka tower managed it well.

Its only the responsibility of dhaka tower not dhaka approach. After confirming approach bearing of the aircraft, approach ATC handover it to tower control, dhaka tower should check the distance of the aircraft on short final before commanding any Aircraft on hold. Approach permission and landing permission only confirmed by tower control, it may vary incase of heavy jet.

Why did they let RR 4102 on runway 14 if they knew that Cathay Heavy was on short final?
