What about winds of winter and a dream of spring Or do you mean the UA-camrs which you have mentioned have write their own story after the dance with dragons?
@@Just9n__ What I meant was that if they begin laying the groundwork now for an animated series, they can have a head start. So by the time their covering A feast for crows or A dance of dragons, George would have already released Winds of Winter. Then they can implement it into their narrative. Animating and voicing takes a long time. Imagine if they did start animating right now. It would take a good year to finish up the first season to cover the events within book one: A game of thrones. Even if Winds or Dream isn't out by then, there is still enough material to adapt. Remember, David and Dan basically skipped A dance with dragons and cherry picked events within A feast for crows. If the animators took their time NOW with establishing the animated series, then by the time their finishing up on adapting A dance with dragons, Winds will be out by then. Then, there's sadly the possibility of George not finishing Winds. Right now, he's busy helping out House of the Dragon, and even before that, he wrote the lore for Elden Ring. I heard somewhere that if he were to die (lets hope not), he wouldn't want anyone else to finish writing ASOIAF. BUT whatever is on screen isn't affected. The ones in charge of the animated show will still be able to complete the story/narrative their own way since its an adaptation. So when word reaches them that George is dead (again, I wish him the best of health. I DO NOT want him to die), they can rewrite the future narrative. Remember, the reason why I chose these youtubers is because they are capable of not only finishing George's story on the small-screen, but do it in a way that stays faithful to his world and characters. Stannis isn't going to be defeated by "20 good men" and characters like Littlefinger, Jaime, Brienne and especially Stannis will be treated with more respect than what David and Dan did to them in the later seasons. I hope this answered your question.
In the books it is certain people that were trying to betray stannis to the lannisters and tyrells including his wife own father and stannis had to set an example of them.He was not burning them for nothing and muh evil fire god like they did in the show to make stannis seems like an evil unlikeable madman
@@johnnyboogalo4897 Not to mention Axell Florent (the guy who is being burnt here) in the books is a hard core Rhillor follower who wants to burn the traitors even more than Stannis
No, in the books the person burnt for following the Seven is Guncer Sunglass, a pious Lord who tries to stop the burning of the Dragonstone sept. Importantly he isn't burnt by Stannis, but by Selyse without Stannis's consent while he is fighting at the Blackwater. The show decides to make Stannis a religious extremist when in the books he is pretty clearly an atheist.
its either right before this scene or right after. Selyse's brother was burned for not destroying his own Sept. In the books he's burned for offering to trade Shireen to the Lannisters for peace.
Someone posted a quote from Liam Cunningham where he talked about acting with Stephen Dillane in this scene. He gushed over how Stephen chose to barely react at all when Stannis sees Davos again. How it was a gutsy choice to act so minimally and give Liam practically nothing to act off of. It sounds like a dick move but Liam seems to have so much respect for Stephen as an actor. I really wish I could find that quote again.
Liam: Stephen Dillane’s reputation preceded him, his work on stage and screen. He’s a very subtle actor. And I was a little intimidated. From day 1, he’s been a complete joy. I love the man’s company, and his choices- [to Carice] What are you laughing at? Carice: You’re just so funny together! Liam: Oh, and his acting choices. I’ll give you an example. When I got back from Blackwater and I was on the rock and burnt to bits, we rehearsed that scene. And this is a man I’ve been breaking my back for for a long time. His first line was, “I thought you were dead.” And most actors, they’d stand up and there’d be a moment of recognition, that one of the family had returned. Stephen decides he’ll sit down, with his back to me, and he just looked over his shoulder for a moment when he says, “I thought you were dead.” He gave me nothing! That was really brave, because most would go for sympathy or emotion, but Stephen has no desire to be liked. He just doesn’t give a fuck! But for me, it’s brilliant for the scene! Because that’s how my character feels, like, “Is that all I’m going to get?!” It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing we have, that power shift. Stephen’s a joy, a joy. Absolutely nothing, she's maybe advise against sailing into the bay. But it's a problem created by the show if memory serves, been some time since I read that book but Tyrion actually sealed the bay with a big chain, like Constantinople and forced them to go through Blackwater Rush, the river that flows to the bay, Tyrion then sets the trap into the Blackwater Rush with his fleet. And burns the entire Lannister fleet in his possession with the wildfire, creating a long lasting ablaze that sets the whole riverbend afire, not just an explosion like in the show. Anyhow, Melisandre is usually half pretence, half power in the books. A lot of her magic is small parlor tricks and alchemical numbers, being intertwined with real magic. She always pretends to be more powerful than she actually is. Weirdly, she felt herself the mostpowerful when she was at the Wall. Something was feeding her magic there, she never could put her finger to it
(This is bringing the books into the answer so take it as you like.) In the fifth book Melisandre has a point of view chapter in which she reflects on the fact that danger to herself was the first thing she learned to see in the flames and the first thing she always looks for (and seems confident in her ability). So I do think if she had been present she would have foreseen the wildfire trap. She's playing things up here but I don't think she is lying that she would have been able to save lives.
Since I'm very familiar with Melisandre and her abilities, let me explain to you in great detail how Melisandre could've prevented the defeat at Blackwater Bay: Magic. 🧙♀

IMO it was the birth of Daenerys dragons that brought magic back to the world as we see the red comet the next day. Thoros resurrecting Beric 6 times, Melisandre hatching shadow demons etc all due to Daenerys Stormborn walking into a fire
man can George RR Martin write banger dialogues the way she says "death by fire is the purest death" gives me chills, it's so evil specially when she's saying this about his son, and all this after Davos lost his son and was stranded in the sea for god knows how long
InbredHabsburg I know your comment is two years old but i felt the need to reply. Ser Davos wasn't distrustful of Melisandre because of her religion because of who she is which he felt was evil. Ser Davos judges a person truly for their character not their religion. Given what Melisandre has done throughout series can you really blame him for not trusting her?
Think about this....none of this has any final payoff or explanation in the utter pile of shit GOT ended up in, no explanation for the Lord of Light, no explanation for Melisandre or Stannis's blind devotion to her, all swept away because between GRRM who can't work out how to explain his story which is the only reason he can't finish the series and lazy incompetent D&D having to fill in the blanks we ended up with the shambles that they gave us as an explanation. What mugs we were.
Stannis' actions are completely reasonable here. Melissandre may very well have been able to control the wildfire if she was there, and Davos may well have lost him the battle. Stannis isn't a guy who shows preferential treatment to his friends, we know this.
In the books, Melisandre is able to tell Davos is going to kill him. Given what happens to cressen in S1: E1, Stannis and Melisandre likely know Davos intends to kill her here. Stannis actually gives Davos a chance to prove himself instead of "mindlessly" arresting him
@@OuterRimPride Melisandre never showed any firebending powers that can stop fire from burning. And in season 5 she didn't stop the fires in Stannis' camp.
Nah. All she's doing here is twist the narrative at hand to something that would benefit her and it doesn't matter how outlandish he "I could've"s are coz she knows Stannis will just lap that shit up anyway.
Melisandre in the show wasn't so bad but i still like her more in the book and i wish they didn't remove patchface. Their interactions would've been creepy af lol
I think the reason why Stannis is cold here is because he was told Davos will try to assassinate Mel. She told him let see any way and those men were ready to apprehend him as soon as he did. Because later on when he frees Davos he's warmer to him.
well you rmember how mnay people were dissapointed with season 8 saying how dany's actions were out of character? that's how the literati felt about Stannis the entire show.
Stannis is too barebones brooding in the show. He's a very straightforward, humourless sort of a man but he's not someone who'd indifferently look at Davos, he's not just about ''I AM KING'' either. His drive is about his sense of duty. He spent his life brooding over Robert's decision to make him lord of Dragonstone, ignoring the very fact that since Baratheons are now new royalty, he is the best man for holding the old seat of Targaryens. He is a very resourceful man, very sharp, in the show, he just listens to Melisandre, in the books he's observant, has a certain cunning to him that makes him very difficult to predict but he's also very just. And in the fucking book, he literally commands one of his high lords to sail to Essos, get money from the Iron Bank and hire golden company to put Shireen upon the fucking throne! WHeras in the show, he burns her.
I mean how could he have seen that coming? She could’ve stopped it sure, but I don’t blame him for not trusting her after everything she’s done before and after this.

Maybe if he looks at the how much his character matters and how much was deleted in the live action show, I don't see why he would not reprise his role as Stannis the Mannis.
What about winds of winter and a dream of spring
Or do you mean the UA-camrs which you have mentioned have write their own story after the dance with dragons?

'Burning prisoners' Which prisoners? Davos doesn't mean the surviving Baratheon soldiers of Blackwater Bay?
Ouissam the people who are against the red women

She is an absolute beauty.
Rapemeat
I think he means Melisandre
What I cannot reconcile is, how does she figure into Stannis’s victory if she was there. Exactly what would she have done?
I mean she does literal magic and has the power to resurrect people, I'm sure she coulda done something
Something was feeding her magic there, she never could put her finger to it
(This is bringing the books into the answer so take it as you like.)
In the fifth book Melisandre has a point of view chapter in which she reflects on the fact that danger to herself was the first thing she learned to see in the flames and the first thing she always looks for (and seems confident in her ability). So I do think if she had been present she would have foreseen the wildfire trap. She's playing things up here but I don't think she is lying that she would have been able to save lives.
Since I'm very familiar with Melisandre and her abilities, let me explain to you in great detail how Melisandre could've prevented the defeat at Blackwater Bay:

The fact that Melisandre wasn’t impaled before the show ended is a real shame. She was the most wretched character for me, more so than Joffrey or Ramsey.

Carice van Houten was eerily hot in this show
Stannis' actions are completely reasonable here. Melissandre may very well have been able to control the wildfire if she was there, and Davos may well have lost him the battle. Stannis isn't a guy who shows preferential treatment to his friends, we know this.
No
Good conversation fellas.

Its a bit much for Davos he lost 3 sons in the Blackwater!

Who would have know that wildfyre was so flammable again or that anyone would set an entire river on fire? Probably not even the red witch...
I think the reason why Stannis is cold here is because he was told Davos will try to assassinate Mel. She told him let see any way and those men were ready to apprehend him as soon as he did.
Because later on when he frees Davos he's warmer to him.
Stannis The Mannis
What would melisandra have done at the Battle of black water bay?
