    In the book, she drinks first, maester drinks second. But this is where they actually did a great job of adapting the books. You still get the same effect as you do in the book but without having to develop maester cressens character before he died. Making Melisandre drink second emphasised her confidence in her power and her lord. Managed to pull the same effect on the audience as it did with the reader but with less scenes.
    Good job...shame they lack the vision and writing to continue with the lack of source material

      @Kubinda12345 29 днів тому

      The problem with Davos' advise is that it's a short term solution.
      Allying with Renly would be problematic because Renly calls himself king. And even if they had made truce until the Lannisters are defeated, Renly would still call himself king and would have a much bigger army than Stannis.
      And allying with Robb Stark would lose Stannis half his kingdom and would create a very dangerous precedent.

      By this point, Robb is hostile to all the southern kings, so Stannis moves to become THE king, knowing Robb will bend the knee in the end anyway. Had they allied, Robb would lose his crown and the support of his lords, and Stannis just a meaningless nominal compromise.

Worst scenes are especially in season 4, where he burns people for being infidels (nevermind his followers being split in king's men and queen's men), burning Florent simply for not burning figures of the Seven, having him beg to the Iron Bank for coin, and downplaying his success against the wildling army by making it a one-sided massacre and omitting the giants and the wildling cavalry. Oh, and in season 3 they had Stannis being convinced to sacrifice his nephew after only 1 leech, instead of waiting for all 3 kings to die. Stannis played a large part in losing the war of the five kings because he was too stubborn to compromise with Renly as well as with Robb. Killing Renly and taking over his army actually caused the Tyrells to join the oppositions and instead of aligning with Robb to destroy the Lannister army he chose to attack King's Landing in full force despite knowing of wildfire and it's potential threat. Overall his action caused the downfall of his house as well as House Baratheon.

    The problem with Stannis is he listened to a woman. Some may call me sexist or claim I get no this or that, but I am not hating women: I only mean to state women are often of poor judgement and you can see the West failing by over catering to their hysteria. A woman agreed btw, a "boss lady", she said she prefers men as employees as too many women can cause drama and nonsense. Women need men to keep things stable as men are more prone to logic and socialised to not be as emotional.
