I love it when Vader said that the force is with you young skywalker but you are not a Jedi yet
"It's only a flesh wound." - Vader after Luke chopped off his hand.
"I've had worse."
Indeed I have
‘Tis but a scratch
For those who do not know, after losing the blue lightsaber in The Empire Strikes Back, Luke seeks out a yellow one and uses it until he builds he green saber.
Thank you I was wondering
The yellow saber, which is never referenced again in the movies.
No, Luke goes to Ben Kenobi's house on Tattooine and learns to build a new Lightsaber, his Green Saber. That's the REAL canon, not this lame Disney/Marvel crap...
@@steelshanks1265 so true
how did he get the yellow lightsaber?
I wish there was a deeper understanding represented in the commentary. Luke's loss had nothing to do with Vader's power level.
The only way to beat Vader and Sidious is to not be afraid. This was the lesson of the Dark Side cave. He brought his weapons because he was afraid, and he ended up killing himself. He doesn't need weapons to defeat Vader. Which is something he accepts and learns in ROTJ. He gives Vader his saber, and later secures victory by throwing down his saber and letting Sidious attack him. Fearlessly. Only then does Vader become Anakin and Sidious is destroyed. Power has nothing to do with it. Ability with a lightsaber has nothing to do with it. They're meaningless.
Thinking he could defeat Vader just by being "stronger in the Force" is Luke's mistake, and why Yoda "was right and is still right." A Jedi's power is not power at all. Power is for the Sith. A Jedi need only trust the Force, be without fear. The Force takes care of the rest. Remember Luke defeated the Empire by *throwing down his weapon,* not by training to be strong and powerful.
True but this analysis is nothing inherent from the comic, its just the subtext of the films, making me wonder why people care about these comics anyways
@@jakobvonbugmann For lore and stories
Great analysis Matthew
@@Aristocratic13 Aw shucks. Thanks.
You're talking to a fandom that by this point was disappointed in Episode VIII because Luke didn't melt Star Destroyers with his eyes and fly around like a superhero. They aren't going to understand your (absolutely spot-on!) analysis. All they can manage to poot out of their brains is "Luke = badass!"
Ha! Even Luke’s subconscious knows that a focused Vader will always be too much for him.
Which is why Anakin was fighting with him during their final battle.
Not in ep 6
Even Vader had a vision in which Luke kill him
@@assassinsknight Luke was Vader's equal in ROTJ, as stated by the novelization. Before you say that Vader was holding back, yes he was conflicted but he still fought whereas Luke held back until the end and didn't want to fight Vader and literally turns off his lightsaber twice. Once Luke used his rage, he trounced Vader.
@@cucumberwater6 i always have said that Luke beat him fairly ((:
I guess cutting each other hands off runs in the skywalker family
I’d really love to see a TV show in the style of clone wars that takes place before and after empire strikes back
Maybe with reimagined scenes from the Vader duel like what the bad batch did with that one scene in revenge of the sith
Everything in between during the time of the rebellion after luke blows up the first Death Star
To almost mastering a pod race like his father
To his fight with Vader
To gaining his yellow saber
To dueling the ghost of the inquisitor
To recreating a deleted scene on tattooine where he crafts his green lightsaber which could be the finale of the show and leading into return of the Jedi
I just wanna see the OT get the same treatment the prequels got with the clone wars and make Luke Skywalker and the rest of the cast more badass than they already are
vader catches luke's arm, just behind the wrist. Still plenty of articulable muscle/joint to work with there---
just a little limp-wrist wiggle and Vader would have gotten a lobotomy XD
You should do the comic where Durge is back
War of the Bounty Hunters would be the perfect live action series for Star Wars
Yeah, this would be after episode 6 right, considering they all seem to completely go away by the time of the sequels?
Except that, the Star Wars films and tv series can't be adapted from books nor comics since it's merely be it's own story. Even The Bad Batch did reconned alot of events happened with the books and comics such as Kanan Jarris's past for example.
@@Swaglander 😂 because the sequels don’t matter. They have no connective tissue
@@DigiPen92 terrible example
@@randalthekidd7006 That is not a terrible example. Plus, you clearly didn't see the comparison from The Bad Batch and other materials such with Kanan Jarris's past from comics nor other things got retconned like Saw Gerra's first fight with the Empire.
Watch that starfleet slip buddy. Dont want no trekkies sneaking in lol
It funny Darth Vader shows father moments to teach his son lol

Love your Chanel!
Star Wars 17# Luke fought Vader using Windu's purple Lightsaber, cut vaders head in half, Vader's head healed in Bacta tank!!! OOOO Something new...
OOOOOO OOOOOO AAAAAA AAAAAAA I CLAPPED AND BOUGHT ALL 7 EXCLUSIVE COMIC FIGURINES
Star wars #18 Luke uses a red saber and cuts the artist's head off for giving him a yellow light saber..
@@katherynet1424 Luke actually did use red lightsaber.
@@user-sm6gn3nl6o Yeah he used a Red Cross guard saber in comics, and used a Red lightsaber shoto in Legends, against Lumiya.
@@wheattoast1971 what is the comic about red crossguard lightsaber? I forgot it's name.
And Vader was going easy on him
Yup vader didn't want to kill him Luke never faced or fought vader in a actual and real duel like the other Jedi he would have been slaughtered without any hesitation or effort
Nop
@@trvpmusic2569 nop
Luke won fairly
@@mrpumavol7.044 idk what you talking about
Love the content keep it up don't listen to hate you make my day Eveytime you upload.
Why does Luke have a yellow lightsaber?!?!?!?!?!? His is blue not yellow.
It's his temporary lightsaber until he builds his own
This is just Luke replaying the duel he had on cloud city in his head with a different outcome on how to defeat Vader; the outcome in ESB hasn't changed. We're still in the ESB to ROTJ timeframe in this comic.
All being said Luke didn't have a yellow light saber at bespin. If he was reimagining the fight why would he suddenly forget his father's light saber that was given to him by Obi wan!?
@@katherynet1424 Luke lost his lightsaber on empire strike back when darth vader cut his hand off. Luke went to a jedi temple to retrieve the lightsaber because he had a vision of this woman handing him a lightsaber but she pointed him to the temple protected by an inquistor (this was where he obtained the yellow lightsaber) . And then he went to build his green lightsaber everyone knows and loves
Fear is the path to the dark side
Yo think you can find where vador and Luke fought on cymoon?
I’m loving he War of the Bounty Hunters series!!
POTENT DARTH VADER (aka POTENT ANAKIN), lol
its blue right
The Wokness Awakens
Please dont say fire. There are better words.
Why are they changing the series clearly Luke losses his hand and emperor clones the hand 🤚 and luuke appears
wait i might have missed it or forgot but why does luke have a yellow saber?
I might be remembering wrong, but Luke might've picked it up in the same temple he fought the Inquisitor ghost at.
@@johnnygyro2295 But he did not have it in the bespin duel. Maybe this is an AU.
@@danielschoch4881 Apparently after the fight on Bespin, in which he lost his fathers lightsaber, he gained a yellow saber which he used until constructing his green one.
@@argon2423 But he did not have it in that battle.
@@danielschoch4881 That's why I said AFTER. After the battle, not during the battle.
Dude ran to save his friends but Vader got there first, so he ran away like a dog with its tail between its legs. So outa character. Spent the issue thinking about fighting him too.
I’d imagine he doesn’t have the same confidence he did when he left Tatooine, Vader made him lose that is what it seems like to me.
@@TensionSlap vader can do that to ppl
Look what happened in the Dark Side cave. Fighting is not the answer. How does Luke defeat the Sith in ROTJ? By fighting them? Or by throwing down his weapon and letting Sidious attack him?
@@xXscreamingkoalaXx Youre out of touch of reality dude. Nobody wants to see them talk it out and tell each other their feelings.
@@cattameme That's literally the only way to beat Vader. And that's what happens in ROTJ.
I can’t wait to see him trade the yellow lightsaber for the green one. I wonder if he was planning on keeping the yellow lightsaber for his father should he be redeemed. And when Anakin died, he decided he’d give it to Grogu.
Did fire just become a new slang word where you live? Are you Canadian? No one says fire unless it's ironicly these days lol not tryna hate on ya just a heads up
What are you the slang police

Couldn't Luke have just let go of the lightsaber, and it would have sliced through Vader's head...
Huh….
Nice
doesnt really look like luke imo
Lame... I miss Dark Horse Star Wars...
This was a flash back not a reimagining. The yellow light saber is not correct. Plus why would he re imagine that anyway with a yellow light saber. Disney failure more like.
...It was a reimagining you dingus... It's all in Luke's head
so disney is try to straight up change the OT to fit the bs ST. no thanks
too bad, its canon and will lead to it, there is a cave you can hide in
@@da-vidcargill4975 dont have to comics like this get swept under the rug quick and the feloniverse will have this forgotten by the end of mando season 3. of which luke had a green saber in season 2 and we aaaaallllll know whats more official. So go get your spot in that cave now bruh. XD
The yellow blade has turned Luke into a yellow bellied coward. I like Charles Soule but this ending was crap. Still giving this story a chance but my patience is wearing thin.

WTF is this
Hey, you reading the comments.... Yeah, don't bother, it's filled with a bunch of bots and toxic haters clearly not understanding the comics or just didn't read them and are just spatting the same regurgitated opinion on the new canon without even understanding the context of the entire story
Some day I hope I meat a Skywalker
I personally prefer ham and turkey, but technically Skywalker's have meat
@@offbrandegg5378j have you ever tasted a fried Skywalker? my friend Obi-wan Kenobi fried me one and it was bussin try i sometime hehehe
This can’t be canon. It contradicts too much doesn’t it?
Nothing's contradicted. That's because this is just Luke replaying the duel he had with Vader in Cloud City in his head with a different outcome; the outcome of the duel in ESB hasn't changed and bit of it that Luke is replaying in his vision is a foreshadowing of what's to come in ROTJ.
Woke Wars
Where is this coming from?
And Vader was going easy on him
