This was the beginning of the “dashed hopes” era as far as finding a real #2 promotion and alternative. I remember reading the review and just going…”oh well…”
Wrestling With Wregret covered WWA’s whole run a few years back but didn’t go in-depth on any of their shows, it was a very strange promotion probably best described as late-period WCW mixed with the best and worst of early TNA (literally in the latter case as WWA served as a platform for a lot of TNA’s early roster). One of their lowest points was the 2002 PPV Revolution, their one and only US show. Among its many issues the marketing heavily advertised Kevin Nash and Scott Hall (who backed out after returning to WWE), Road Dogg (who backed out for personal reasons), and a main event featuring Randy Savage (who no-showed and had to be replaced with Road Dogg’s planned opponent Brian “Grandmaster Sexay” Christopher at the last minute).
