- Why i will never purchase an automatic car again, if im planning on keeping it for an extended period of time. Why manual transmissions are way better than automatic. why i personally LOVE the manual transmission! Why does a manual have so many advantages in a pinch? Hope you guys enjoyed

I guess my cars didn't get the memo. My A3 is equipped with DSG and has 171k miles. Never had a single issue.
My MK7 GTI (also DSG) has 107k miles and hasn't had a single issue transmission wise either. Hell, my GTI is big turbo, E85, FBO and tracked on weekends. 😂
It's cool that you prefer manual and I have owned both auto and manual vehicles. However, it's not 1985 anymore and modern autos are far better than they have ever been. The DSG was so amazing in my A3, I opted for DSG in my Golf as well. Manual can be fun at times but it's a highly overrated experience.
Don't forget it also keep people off the phone and it's a good anti theft since there's a lot of people that don't know how to even start it lol much less drive manual ... I just recently got a 20,000 miles 2018 mk 6.5 wolfensburg edition and I got some plans
Good point!
I'm contemplating a short shifter and tightening the clutch pedal

Everything you said about taking care of a manual transmission goes to same with automatic. If you take care of it, it will last. My first car was a 98 Ford Expedition I got from my parents. They never did and I never had to rebuild or replace the automatic transmission. Hell we rarely changed the fluid and that truck had 5 round trips to Mexico and back to Illinois. Only benefit I got from this video is the starter problems.
It won’t last as long as a manual and that’s a fact. No matter how much you take care of it and change the fluid. Torque converter will go, clutch packs will go.
What you say is correct, however, the fact is that the manual transmission is dying out, and this is making them harder to find. Just 41 out of the 327 new car models sold in the United States in 2020, or 13%, are offered with a manual transmission, according to data from Edmunds. So eventually, the manual transmission will be redundant. Now, just as rear wheel drive cars are better than front wheel drive cars, why not make a video on why they are better yet becoming redundant also. We can also debate as to why we shouldn't modify cars so they save us money in the long-run through premature mechanical fatigue and failure. People should buy and do whatever they feel comfortable with.
I like what you’re saying, eventually manual transmissions will die out yes. But I’m hoping to keep the trend and my beliefs going for as long as I can. If I’m leasing a car for a couple years, I wouldn’t care as much. If I’m in it for the long haul, I’d get a manual still.
I have a 2014 Jetta 1.8T with a tip I have no problems just change the fluid 50k I have 105k with no problems. Yes manual s are fun i had a mk4 GTI vr6 I live in Houston Tx the traffic sucks bad and I have a jacked up legs.
You own a Volkswagen what about a car with a DSG? They shift faster than a manual
Even a DSG, after 200,000 miles it’s a ticking time bomb
@@arsenyrazhkov4559 yeah I’d sell the car well before that but with a manual you’ll have to replace the clutch and other stuff if your getting up that high in miles
@@matthewcunningham1480 sure you can, I just keep my cars for longer. Also the biggest factor for me is the bump starting in case of a dead battery or starter failure
@@arsenyrazhkov4559 makes sense man
For me it's not just about what's faster its about the experience
