The Complete Karl Pilkington on Politics (A Compilation with Ricky Gervais and Steve Merchant)

- "Politics is not a game, but a serious business" Winston Churchill
"It's weird how me and that insect are miles apart in terms of lifestyle, yet we both like a biscuit." Karl Pilkington
In the run-up to the US election, Karl Pilkington provides insights about how he would act as a politician.
This compilation scours all the politically-themed discussions from the archives.... Discussing voting, elections, politicians from Churchill to Che Guevara.
I really enjoy listening to the old archives, finding clips and making these themed compilations. Some of them are more loose than others of course, but still it's great just finding them. Hope you enjoy listening to them (BTW if you've heard Karl's new Rockbusters - the Dua Lipa one is the funniest things I've heard)
Clips from the XFM show and other bits and bobs. However you vote, look after yourselves, and each other.

Karl's exasperated delivery of _"What's the dog doing?"_ gets me every time.
Always makes me crack up before i go to sleep 😊

This is amazing thank you for doing it! I think the best compilation now would be of more recent stuff that is hard to find, like the clip about the monkey on the bike snatching a kid during Covid. I hadn't heard that before and I've hear almost everything from Karl.
Oh I haven't heard this yet and I've also listened to all the podcasts, watched his interviews and his sky programmes... I'll have to look that one up
@@DeanD1990 it’s from his lockdown podcast
KP Radio. It's on here too
54:40 The kid's cries dissolve into laughter 🤣
Please keep rolling out this brilliant material, these 3 are magic. It tickles my funny bone!
“What do you think of the Capital Death Penalty?”
Why was i expecting Karl to say
“Im not really too bothered where they do it to be honest”
13:25 Not a truer word said, a good analogy for this is like a motorway. We're all heading in the same direction and all we can do is switch lanes, we can never change the destination.
‘I’m sort of guessing he enjoyed gardening anyway’ 😂😂😂
What's the dog doing?
Excellent question.
'Thah Nan ahlavan" 😂
Is there new Pilkington audio somewhere? At about 1:03:00 hes talking bout lockdown and PPE, is this recent? I need new Pilkington NOW!
5 episodes of KP Radio on Karl's channel
Love this!

"They only tell us to vote to make it seem like we have a say in what's going on."
Based Karl?
Karl Pilkington at radio:
Q:A case study of interrogation tactics to explore him due to the effect his answers or something casual between friends trying to do the same result without being pressured?
A: both. providing a wicked way to have some fun with a genuine human being with no filter and capable of thinking and saying the best of two worlds, the sincerity of a mind and the random knowledge of a political incorrectness brain.
Karl is focking brilliant and absolutely hilarious
Definitely hilarious
13:25 Karl is so right. They let us vote to give us the illusion of freedom but the bigger picture never changes.
So true!
Right, it just gets worse.
Like now for instance.
A lot of people are going to freeze to death next winter due to the massive rise in fuel costs,
which were going to happen even before this war started.
Somethings got to be done😤😤
A compilation of Karl laughing would be cool since so many of us have never heard him laugh. Though it probably quite short
There used to be a compilation of him laughing and it was a whopping 30 minutes
He laughs more than people realize I think. I've heard him laugh a lot in the full XFM and BBC podcasts
You have a lovely voice Yak
Also no worries but at 1 hour 26 mins a story is repeated
Ahhahaha i like to spend a day with Karl. 😂😂😂
If pay to spend a day with karl
Drinking aswell. That would be amazing
" That a monkey sized moped it's been issued with "
I reckon you could do a compilation of every time Karl was correct, I.e. the story about the nuclear bomb and the manhole cover or the monkey with crap tattooed on it’s head.
The manhole story was real?
@@TheTherapistGamer Yes, loads of them were real, and he was often correct about general things as well, just not very good at explaining them or defending his ideas.
Operation Plumbob:-
In 1956, Dr Robert Brownlee, from Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, was asked to examine whether nuclear detonations could be conducted underground. The first subterranean test was the nuclear device known as Pascal A, which was lowered down a 500 ft (150 m) borehole. However, the detonated yield turned out to be 50,000 times greater than anticipated, creating a jet of fire that shot hundreds of feet into the sky.[8] During the Pascal-B nuclear test, a 900-kilogram (2,000 lb) steel plate cap (a piece of armor plate) was welded over the borehole to contain the nuclear blast even though Brownlee predicted it would not work.[8] When Pascal-B was detonated, the blast went straight up the test shaft, launching the cap into the atmosphere at a speed of more than 66 km/s (41 mi/s; 240,000 km/h; 150,000 mph). The plate was never found.[9] Scientists believe compression heating caused the cap to vaporize as it sped through the atmosphere.[8] A high-speed camera, which took one frame per millisecond, was focused on the borehole because studying the velocity of the plate was deemed scientifically interesting.[8] After the detonation, the plate appeared in only one frame, but this was enough to make an estimation of its speed. Dr. Brownlee joked the best estimate of the cover's speed from the photographic evidence was it was "going like a bat!"[9][10] Brownlee estimated that the explosion, combined with the specific design of the shaft, could accelerate the plate to approximately six times Earth's escape velocity.[9] In 2015 Dr. Brownlee said, "I have no idea what happened to the cap, but I always assumed that it was probably vaporized before it went into space."[11]
@@molitovv I knew many of Karl's anecdotes were real but I am genuinely surprised about the manhole cover story (though to be fair a 2,000 pound steel plate is a bit different than a manhole cover!). Thanks for the info!
@@TheTherapistGamer That’s right, he is always so close to the truth but not quite there.
@@molitovv Recently I learned that Karl's report on the origin of "having a frog in your throat" was correct-ish as confirmed by Sir Tony Robinson on "Worst Jobs of [I forget which era]"
I feel like Karl lives in a happy world. He makes me happy.
: )
Exactly.
I think it’s funny that Ricky and Steve don’t understand the concept of “wage slavery”. If you have no other employment options and you are only being paid enough to live to work another day then you do not in fact have the freedom to leave that job. That exists only in name. Your option is to toil under conditions that are unfair but you have no agency to change, or to risk starving . A lot of places in uk and us where there is only one available employer that you can even live on, with no other options around you. I thought Ricky having grown up working class would’ve noticed this before chiding Karl for his comment
Well said sir. I 100% agree
I totally agree also Ironic the point you made and your Big boss Bob Ross. Just an observation not taking the piss. 😂
@@grahamblackmore2632 lol, Big Boss is a character in the game series Metal Gear Solid. I can assure you, I am no capitalist boot-licker lmao
@@Glassandcandy All good. Bob ross hippy painter dude awesome. 🤣
Yeah Ricky is ignorant as hell sometimes. I often find any time someone pushes him for detail on some soundbite he’s spouted, he starts stumbling. Hilarious though haha
Also agree with Karl about mammoths, if scientists managed to clone them (which they've been banging on about for decades) I wouldn't be that impressed and wouldn't go out of my way to see one.
Word.
Rappers definitely sell the concept that violence is cool
Did he for real give a dude a 75 cents tip.

Well, given that Karl has no interest in UK politics, why do you think he'd know or have opinions on American politicians?

For the last time: there were no slaves at the construction of the pyramids. At Saqqara when archeological excavations to find more sites of treasures they found out a all city made to the workers and when some bones had dna experiments and scientific research they found out the workers had no injurues and had a good diet and most of them with their families. Just search it!
THE Jews left Egypt centuries before the supposedly "evacuattion" and all the workforce of ancient Egypt are paid fed and housed in that ages. Remember the pyramids at Gize are at least more than 5000 years than Egyptology guys thought.
So stop telling "the slaves of Egypt" Zionist propaganda and start to do your own research. Finnaly I'm sorry for my horrible English and pardon me for that because it's not my mother tongue but at least I can tell you I speak more than one. Can you? So f'd you cyberbullies.
Yessir. Slaves, no matter how harshly they're worked, don't produce the kind of accuracy, craftmanship, and sheer mind-bending construction shown in just the Khufi Pyramid, nevermind the rest.
Granite blocks (The largest being 80 tons, I believe) above the Kings chamber, the mind boggles how they did it, but hats off to them.....
Your English is just fine. I understood you perfectly. I'm against uncontrolled immigration also btw.
