Great review Eric. I loved your son's reaction to the launch. One thing you didn't mention that I would be keen to hear your opinion on is ride quality. Does the 'magneride' that comes as standard with the GT improve the feel of our potted Ontario roads? Thanks
It's tough to answer the pothole question as this wasn't the time of year when we see a lot of them. But on roads that are showing their age, I found the ride to be fine. It's not riding on air suspension, so I temper my expectations, but given that it's a performance oriented vehicle, I was fine with the overall ride. Thanks for the kind feedback as well. Much appreciated!
I test drove a Premium extend version today, not the GT. It was fantastic. Smooth, quiet, powerful, great handling. The Mach e would probably be my #1 choice. I've driven several other EVs as well.
The cost to charge at home depends on battery size, your local utility rates and whether you have time of day pricing. I live in Ontario and in my case, if the battery were completely empty (which would be rare) and I needed it to be filled to 100%, if I charged while I slept in my driveway, it would cost roughly around $5 to $8 or $9 to fill. If I participated in an optional pricing program that offered even cheaper overnight rates, it could cost me only $2 or $3 to fill. During peak pricing that cost could go up to $10 or $15 but it's very unlikely since I wouldn't allow the battery to go that low and wait until the most expensive time of day to charge. And while it isn't required that you have a home charger, a normal 110 charge cable would be very slow at charging up the battery. With a L2 charger you could always fill up overnight but it could take a couple days to go from empty to full with a basic cable. Hope this helps.
I am a full believer in EVs. Most of the objections I see are rooted in outdated, exaggerated or even outright false rhetoric. There still is work to be done of course on continuing to build out national charging infrastructure, but there are far more people who could easily be driving EVs today that aren't due to unnecessary concerns. The Mach-e is a fun vehicle and is practical. If you want more range, don't choose the GT as the extra power reduces range. There are various battery sizes and option for single or dual motor, so take some out and make the right choice for you. Once you're in an EV, you will almost likely never go back to gas.
@@collinsv4742 The right way to ask is whether or not this vehicle is capable of getting 280 miles, and the answer to that is absolutely, yes! But if you're asking me whether you will get 280 miles, that's something I cannot answer. I say that simply because there are many variables that can impact range one way or another and I don't know what your variables are. Driving style, highway vs city ratio, area climate, topography and more can all impact the range you get - which are the same considerations that factor into fuel economy as well. So, I can't tell you that you will achieve 280 miles if you pick one up, but I can tell you that it's definitely possible and you don't need to be hypermiling to get there.
@@TheNovakReport thank you. Its range is the only thing holding me back. Our Tesla is still alive & kicking after 8 yrs and 171,000 miles. Its max range after charging has gone from 254 miles when new and now 212 miles after battery degradation. I am looking to add another EV and refuse to get another tesla. I test drove a 2024 Mach E GT last week. It's a nice, quick car.
@@collinsv4742 I would add that the quality of batteries today compared to 8 years ago is significantly better, so that is something to keep in mind. Good luck with your decision making!
My wife and I just traded her premium 2022 for this exact model and I must say it’s a huge upgrade! We love it
This one has more zing! 😉

Ist das B&O Soundsystem verbaut & macht das Interior bei viel Bass weiterhin Geräusche?

What type of battery range were you getting?
I was getting range that were typically at or greater than published. It was an ideal time of year so range was as expected or better.

Most people after their first genuine experience with driving EVs realize how fun they are to drive.
How much it cost to charge at home do I really need a charger at home?

@@TheNovakReport yeah ford is offering free charger and installation I live in Massachusetts thanks
Take the offer! It's definitely worth it. Cheers.
